When ~ comes into play you may search any number of Spike creature cards in your graveyard or hand. Remove that creatures and put that many +1/+1 counters on ~.
Remove a +1/+1 counter from ~. Put a Spike from your hand into play.
If you used black mana for playing Grotesque mutations, target creature gets two -2/-2 counters.
If you used white mana, target creature gains first strike and +1/+0 until end of turn.
If you used green mana, target creature gets +2/+2 and trample until end of turn.

I thought converted mana cost X counted as 0...or is it only when they are not in play? can you plz tell me what rule aplies here? thnx!
