First off, sorry that I misread the rule; I thought Uldan was instituting a blanket ban on talk of 10-25% gainers, not only ban on talking about 10-25% gains on a recent 100-150% gainer. Seems like an odd distinction to me, but whatever.

Also worth noting you commented on Spell Pierce moving, it apparently wasn't a problem then. People are interested in a highly played common moving because of it's widespread use, Tendo Ice Bridge is barely played in a fringe deck so it isn't on people's radar's for the most part. But that's neither here nor there.

Right; whether people are interested in the card or not is neither here nor there. As for Spell Pierce, it actually violates Uldan's rule depending on how strictly one wants to apply the "recently gained 100%" rule. $1 to $1.98 isn't sufficient, but $0.99 to $1.98 is. Anyway. Now the rule is more clear.

Did I miss something? I honestly don't know what you're talking about at all or why you're trying to antagonize me for that matter.

No one is trying to antognize you, mate; just misunderstood the new rule.

There is no new "rule". I simply asked that people use common sense on cards that had already grown significantly in recent times. -Uldan

For godsake, please let it go. Go ruin another thread with an argument about purple borders, or whatever other petty debate you feel like derailing a thread with today. Better yet, there is an entire debate forum for exactly the kind of conversation you're looking for.

The filterlands are an important part of the modern manabase and have increased significantly in price in the past few months and are continuing to trend upward. This is relevant information and I for one appreciate the observation.

Your pet card is not used by anyone and has increased by the price of a pack of Fallen Empires. We don't care. Please stop.

The person derailing the thread is you, not me. I'm talking about the rules, and you're talking about personal preferences about what cards you like. Why didn't you post about Spell Pierce? It also increased by the price of a pack of Fallen Empires.

In the end, whether or not you care about a particular card is not relevant to whether or not the card is discussed here. Plenty of people cared about the cards I talked about, so if you don't, best to just keep mum.

Most of the enemy colored filterlands are on the rise like Flooded Grove and Fetid Heath. Only one that hasn't spiked like the rest is Rugged Prairie. I'm curious if the allied colored filters are worth speculating on because most of them cost half as less compared to the enemy colored filters. I don't think they will be reprinted soon because of the hybrid mana symbols.

Sorry, but your post is in violation of Uldan's rule:

I understand people have different definitions of what is worth noting, but hopefully we can agree that 10-25% bumps in cards that just recently increased to 200-250% of the original price is not especially worth noting. Bickering is over. Grace period over. -Uldan

Flooded Grove is only up 25% recently, and only 15% over the past week; Fetid Heath shows a similar trejectory. Both of these are less than the objectionable Tendo Ice Bridge. For that matter, the same was true of Spell Piece. Anyone disagree?

I disagree - they didn't recently increase 200-250%. This is just picking a fight -Infraction for trolling -Uldan

But they have colored artifacts all through different magic sets including the theros block?? Also the eldrazi are colorless non artifact creatures...

Yes, I was pointing out things they've already done that people had asked for. What have people asked for for a long time that they've NEVER done, not counting "reprint this card" stuff?

I'm having a hard time coming up with plausible answers to "something people have been asking for for a long time but which we've never done before". Ideas like snow-covered duals or purple mana or contraptions seem too far-fetched. The best I can come up with is "Onslaught (and/or Zendikar) fetchland reprints", but even that seems a bit too clever; the thing "never done before" is reprinting them, not the lands themselves. To me "never done before" is stuff like "colored artifacts" or "colorless non-artifact creatures". And while there are a lot of things along those lines that haven't been done yet, I am having a hard time thinking of one that many people have been ASKING for for a long time.

Guys, take a closer look at that grey guy up front. That's an orc. Orcs are what they are bringing back after a long absence (not seen since 9E and Time Spiral).

Didnt MaRo say pretty recently that Fetches are still a long way off till being reprinted? I dont think that means they will be in the next set.

You're referring to a quote from Aaraon Forsythe from a podcast, and it has been misconstrued by many that he said that when in fact he said nothing of the sort. All he said was that it would take time to reprint them, just like it took time to reprint Thoughtseize. Well, that "taking time" for Thoughtseize started a while back, so we saw Thoughtseize in Theros. Similarly, if the "taking time" started a while back for fetch lands, they could still show up in this set or even in M15 this year. He never even hinted at when the "taking time" clock started running, nor did he say anything like, "I can't tell you when we'll reprint them but since it's going to take time, not anytime soon."

    Quote from Clamp
Sam Stoddard has stated that the core set will no longer have cycles of multicolor producing lands and will instead be including full 10 land cycles in block expansions.

Incorrect. What was stated was that they now embraced full 10 land cycles over partial ones and would offer them "as much as they can". This applies to both core and expert sets; nothing was said to indicate that 10 land cycles could not be printed in core sets.

    Quote from Inanimate
Sure, but I think there has been comments from Maro, regarding fitting the 10 card cycle for lands in. I don't think it's set in stone, but I doubt there is room for a 10 card cycle in a core set.

There's plenty of room for a 10 card land cycle in a core set. Both 9th and 10th edition had them. While it's true that those core sets were larger than those of today, it's not prohibitive.

However, it certainly does suggest that, rather than split all 10 of a dual cycle across three expert sets of a new block, they might consider doing 5 in a core set and 5 in the first large set of a new block.

    Quote from TomCat26

Corallary #1 --As long as customers continue to buy from Starcitygames, the rise in card prices for highly sought about collectibles is inherently inflationary in nature.

Final Conclusion, P9 is integrated into an economic cycle that places continuous upward pressure on its prices.

This is true for all cards that have a fixed or growing demand, not just P9. However, your premise is slightly wrong, and here's why.

Why the SCG price influences the market price of a card, it does not SET the market price of a card for most buyers. A SCG buyer is already part of the upper echelon of customers willing to pay a premium over the market price. The actual market price is in-between the buylist price for SCG and other vendors, and the SCG/vendor sell price. And SCG does acquire new stock at its buylist price. But inevitably the price pressure for cards selling in that gap pushes that buylist upwards, which in turn pushes that sell price upwards. It is inherently inflationary.

To reduce the price, either the supply of the card most go up (reprints), or demand must go down (bannings, being outclassed by newer cards, or general decline in the popularity of the game).

It was $0.35 per listing for BIN, and then it was $0.50 for about a year before they started offering the free 50 listings.

Thanks to those who actually answered the question. His price continues to drop day by day, so I don't think he's bottomed yet, but there do seem to be buyers willing to pay around $4 for him now. But he was $5 a couple of months ago.

My opinion is more practical. WotC is never going to release actual, detailed data on such printing inconsistencies. They might not even have recorded such things back in the old days. So you're never going to "know" if the card is a fake or not.

So what matters is purely whether or not WotC, or more precisely the DCI, considers the card real or not. And if it passes all the other tests, and judges aren't told to disqualify a card based on the level of the TM line, then it's for all intents and purposes a real card, and should be treated as such.

The natural conclusion to such logic is the possibility that people could make "perfect", or virtually perfect, fakes, yet we'd consider them real cards. And that may be an uncomfortable place to be in. But if even WotC can't tell that they're fake, what does it matter?

I'm giving 80% odds of gold tokens being a not-insignificant theme, as we received two cards that made them during this block and Wizards seems to be tapping into GDS mechanics lately.

I'm giving 0% odds of gold tokens being a theme ever, because the template doesn't work the way you think it does.

What do you think the template would do with three+ color tokens?

I don't see why "something they haven't done yet" is such a big deal. EVERY expert block in recent years introduced something that hadn't been done before:

    Mirrodin - Equipment
    Kamigawa - Flip cards
    Ravnica - Hybrid mana
Time Spiral - Too numerous to mention
    Lorwyn - Planeswalker cards
Shards of Alara - Colored artifacts
    Zendikar - Colorless non-artifact creatures
Scars of Mirrodin - Phyrexian Mana
    Innistrad - Dual-faced cards
Return to Ravnica - Split cards with fuse
    Theros - Enchantment Creatures
