I played this deck today at states and thought it was great. I hadn't tested it prior to today as I was limited on time prior to states. So I took all your advice and pieced together a deck. My results for today went:
RD 1: G/B Dredge
I won 2-0. Nothing much to say about this matchup. Faith's Fetters owned the big guys and when needed to, Wrath cleared the way.
RD 2: Gifts
I lost 2-0. All game I didn't draw enough creature spells, I lacked Vitu-Ghazi and got my opponent to 1. Then even with Top failed to see that last burn spell before he started Kokushoing his life back and mine down. Second game I didn't see a green land and died fairly easily. More unlucky than anything.
RD 3: GW Subdual
I won 2-1. He got land flooded first game. Second game he pounded my face as I drew no responses. Third game smashed face, not much more to say. There was never a threat to big for the deck. Have of the draws been better game 2, I probably would've won 2-0.
RD 4: W/B Control
First game, I made a mistake which cost me. Tapped all my white he killed my flier, swung with Kokusho then edicted himself. GG. Games 2 and 3 were easily mine. In came the Ivory Masks no more Extraction to worry about. Finally, the tokens and H2R were too good. Plus the guy played 26 removal spells and with only 8 creatures himself, my deck had plenty of responses to them all.
RD 5: W/G Aggro
Won 2-0. Devouring light and Faith's Fetters handled the board until I drew H2R. Second game he had 2 land for the first five turns, he died to three consecutive burn spells.
RD 6: Unsure, I believe R/W Aggro
Meh, I drew this one to guarentee a spot in the top 8. So didn't see his cards.
Overall finished 7th for the day on 4-1-1. First round of the finals I played Gifts and lost 2-0 again. I made some mistakes, like tapping my Vitu-Ghazi for some spell instead of leaving it open to block his Myojin of Night's Reach. *Sigh* Plus everytime I'd clean the board and be ready to belt his head he pulled some sort of answer. First game I sat there with a top for 5 turns with three lands on top of my deck. The sad part was I had no spell in hand to shuffle my library. I think this match I was unlucky. I eventually drew 14 of the 24 land of my library then spells like Seed Spark? I can't remember exactly. I was angry at my mistakes however, I doubt I could've done anything anyway. Overall, considering the fact I went into today with no previous experience of the deck, it played out very good. The main thing is I found myself making more mistakes than usual, but was able to recover. The amount of times I forgot about Firemane Angel in my graveyard was rediculous. Plus I'm mainly a limited player and this is the first time I've played states since I started Magic in 2000. Overall, I just want to thank everyone here who contributed different ideas, it definitely helped me not look bad playing type 2.:D Hopefully I can re-adjust the deck or get luckier against gifts and you can take something out of my testing at states.
When does this Azrael have his Trials? I put my vote down to un-initiate already. Plus if it hasn't been, invite me to witness this greatness.

Senori, titus may have been suspended due to accumlating the required amount of warnings for a suspension. Nevertheless, it is hard not to see how TNK feels about Paul, when he posted his comments on our thread. IMO they weren't necessary at all.
P, I agree with your push to make carpo a Core Member. I wished for him to join PUBE from the start, but we seemed to have gotten slightly side tracked.
Jeff, I am waiting for you to get my list off of me. These people need to be abolished from PUBE ASAP.:p

I voted for Jeekc's card. I feel it matched the name better than any of the others. I like the ability also, but feel it maybe could've costed slightly more by B.:)
From what I've seen so far it doesn't suck and by the time we find out all the cards I'm sure it won't suck either.
There are a lot of good cards for a person like myself who only plays limited and casual. The introduction to Ninja's is nice. The Shoal's that I have seen so far look awesome, apart from the blue one. The greatest thing about Betrayers though, is the fact that the pre-release card looks really good. The art is great and it introduces a half decent mechanic. Plus, overall Ink-Eyes is really good in limited if you are fortunate to pull one.
So with that said I can't wait for the pre-release.:)
Hard question but I feel I can, give pretty easy answers.
1. Odyssey - I bought so many packs of this set and only ever got crap rares. It did have its high points with Tog, Call and maybe some others I can't think of, but overall bad.
2. Fifth Dawn - I really didn't get much of the set. It is considerably better than Odyssey, as it had the Bringers which I found somewhat interesting. Other than that didn't wet my whistle.
3. Mercadian Masques - Once again similar to Odyssey. It was a big set and had some really good rares, but you had to go through a majority of the bad before you got the good. Squee and Wumpus are the two good cards I can think of off the top of my head.
I'm no longer a big player of Magic, more of a collector. I like to get certain cards. Plus I like to get complete sets. That is why the only thing that interested me in Fifth Dawn were the Bringers. Plus these are more recent sets as i've only been playing since Apocalypse.
You don't understand. Since every member on this site is a member of our clan, we can just use any card they create for the contest.
I mean we use cards that 5 CORE members create. You can actually create 8. Like P, Jeff, Paul, Candy, Cody, JT(?) and myself. I hope I haven't missed anyone by chance. If I've still missed the point and for some reason I feel I have, then I'm giving you som courtroom drama.:mad:

I like the artwork that came out of it and just the idea behind the Japanese culture. Although, by the looks of things this could change when we see Betrayers released.
2. Darksteel
Had a lot of cards which I liked and certainly had some good flavour texts. The one which sticks out in my mind is Last Word. I also liked the introduction to Indestructable.
3. Legions
Not the best set by the way of cards, but I feel as though the idea was great. Something just appeals to me about this set.
