been kinda fun, ive wanted to build a deck like this since my old favorite rotated with time spiral. its not as good as its counter part but definitely fun
have you guys considered Inquisition of Kozilek this hits alot of things and is a decent imbetween thought seize and duress. the only thing i think that might hurt this option is that it doesnt nab FoW
i like the look of this deck alot and i like the fact that is has more than one thing so its hard to disrupt. it also looks like it may take some time to learn to play so its not an easy deck. good work looking forward to seeing how this thing handles
well this is my take on Eldrazi ramp i had some decent success beating Bant, Vamps, and another ramp deck at FNM. i ended up losing in top 8 to BR Vamps.
its ramps pretty quick and has some tricks so you are not just a one trick pony. the board could prolly use some work but it did ok
i think shackles might be a decent addition here. stifle is in side for combo since you can just stifle the storm. other things are kind of self explanatory
is there a reason burning inquiry is not run over careful study in dredge? i understand you dont get to choose your discard but usually you dont have a hand anyway
it is decently consistent but mulligans are a big part of the deck and do take some thought process. i run it with 2 tutors because i havent had a need to put in more but it is an option. mabey brainstorm might fit here to make it a bit more reliable on draws. it is always an option.
just from some of the old lists ive seen, the draw engine is different and this doesnt run belcher as an alternate win. it runs somewhat similar because of the win condition being storm but alot of the cards are different to accommodate and abuse the draw engines.
just a quick history of the deck
This deck was made when glimpse of nature first came out and with the banning of Skull clamp withered away in obscurity. when Ad Nauseam came out it gave this deck a second chance at greatness or at least mediocrity. So the basics of the deck is to create a storm count with kobolds and other 0 casting cost creatures while drawing from glimpse of nature. Your win conditions are Grape shot, Brain Freeze, or empty the warrens. You could replace any of these with tendrils as well if thats your bag.
so for match ups ill just post what i have played against so far
Fish
post board we have a decent match up, pre board you are prolly gonna get slaughtered unless they make a mistake. with xantid swarm or vexing shusher you should be able to get a decent amount of spells played and jinxed idol is quite good in the control match up since all your creatures are just blockers or fodder.
dredge
we can race them and we are faster then they are when it comes to comboing off. their discard can be a pain but its usually not enough to completely take us out.
elves
once again its a race, and they usually dont have anything to really disrupt us so we should be able to take this.
43 land
this deck can wreck you post board thanks to chalice, its still win able but it hurts.
counter top/ Stand still
this is an absolute nightmare, meddling mages and just counter balance in general are pretty rough its not a favorable match. post board its still not the greatest match you have idols and shushers
well tell me what ya guys think what might be good to add or take out, or just post your thoughts
so i took 3rd, i played against goblins, elves, merfolk, Random Black White
goblins was a breeze got him on turn 2 the first game thanks to a lions eye in response to break through dredge about 3/4 my deck and win. second game won on turn 4
elves was a bit of a battle. they come out fast and the life gain hurts. dude also ran a random helix pinnacle which i did not know about which almost cost me the match. i took this 2-1
merfolk again was a battle. got him game one thanks to ichorids, game 2 he drops a first turn relic which is kind hard to deal with and im not drawing to great so on to game 3. i sided in grudges my opening hand was alot of discard so i went with it. raped his hand and this game went on for about 7-9 turns till i could pull it out.
BW Random was a breeze he really didnt do anything much.
on to top 4 i play the BW random again but this time my hands are utter crap. i aggressive mulligan the second game down to 4 its a diamond, troll, analysis, and putrid imp. i pop the diamond flash back and dredge into absolutely nothing. this dude drops a hippy first turn, black knight second turn, hippy third turn, 4th turn glorious anthem and a white knight. i got beasted before i could get anything going.
all in all this deck requires alot of thinking on your mulligans. id say about 40% of the time i had to mulligan
