when people are defending serum visions they are completely missing the point of this thread. if you think $7.50 is an appropriate price for a card that draws 1 then scry 2, you are insane.
serum visions is a garbage card and the only reason it is a staple is because preordain is apparently to powerful for modern. preordain is strictly better and is like $1. visions should be a $1-$2 card at best its overvalued because it is the only decent cantrip in modern.
dredge is and has always been the x-files. in short ***** just happens in that deck. sometimes it grinds with ichorids and ghasts and sometimes it just flips the library in the graveyard and says i win because of reasons.
Is it possible that wizards has dumbed down the game so much by throwing creatures at each other that players maybe just dont know how to interact with all deck types? the whole deck is built around 1 thing. you even have an extraction effect in standard right now to take care of it. people keep saying the deck is non interactive but there are quite a few times, especially after the first game that you do have to interact with your opponent. I am happy combo has a decent deck and you know what? It still requires like 4 cards and CREATURES to go off. Even if it is a decent deck they sure as hell didnt make it easy because you have to run a lot of crap cards to get your desired result.
i think if this deck becomes more of a thing, Thalia and cards like Ethersworn Canonist will start seeing a lot more play. That being said as soon as i saw jeskai i was like jesus finally wizards has printed something for the johnnies of the world
the pod match up is not so great as they can produce any type of mana and they have alot of creatures for blockers and the like to soak up dmg. The cost of the deck with all the staples is about $350-$370 which is pretty cheap. The one main positive to the deck is a lot of other decks just wont have sideboard for it. I've actually sat across from many people who have said i dont know wtf to sideboard against that. Blood moon wrecks this deck though
