I think it's not that good, but ye, it could see game against control.

I think the main idea is that it's not that good. That's what they are calling "a fixed version" nowadays...

True Conviction probably belongs to this cycle, so I don't think it is strictly XX. It may have been designed that way but development had to tweak it. So I think we are likely just missing the red one.

I was thinking the exact same thing. The red one will probably have to do with Equipment, being one of red's main themes. Or it may have some Pandemonium effect. That would be awesome.

However, there's not much in common between the other four cards to make a call on the missing one, just the cost and the fact they're Enchantments...

Get a huge piece of cardboard, paste your cards, frame it. Awesome piece of art, and it'll surely bring memories back whenever you see it...

Mirrodin Besieged fits with the narrow point all sets come to some day. Its the set that brings conflict to the block, the one that develops the plot into the resolution. What if there are to possible outcomes for this situation, one pictured in Mirrodin Pure and another one in New Phyrexia? As a duality, both of them happen and also neither. Like... quantum physics...

Are you choosing any colors? If you don't, it won't find anything because "Require multicolor" means "The card I'm looking for is all the colors I selected" and not "It has more than one color"...

There is a ? you can click next to "Legality" that will take you to the banned/restricted lists. Because it's on every page, I didn't want it to be prominent. Good idea with the line, I will try that.

Linking the time-shifted cards sounds like a neat idea, I will definitely add that later.

Thank you so much for the detailed list! It really helps.

When I talked about the Restricted List, I meant the Reserved List, the one that includes the cards that won't be reprinted, my mistake. For example, Time Vault. Where it says "This card is on the reserve list", three improvements can be made. First I think it's the reserveD list, with a "d". Second, it could include a link right there to a search of all the cards in the Reserved List. And third, you could include another "?" in that line, redirecting to the Reprint Policy. The URL is: http://www.wizards.com/magic/tcg/article.aspx?x=magic/products/reprintpolicy

This could also apply for the "Timeshifted" versions of Planar Chaos, you could include in the same line a link to the original card (As I already mentioned) and a link to the search of all Planar Chaos Timeshifted cards.

By the way, while I was writing this, I went to check out the list "Is:", in Advanced Search, and both categories are missing. It would be cool if we could search them. You can add "is on the Reserved List" and "is a Timeshifted version", just like you did with "Is a future card". Both options would be under the Categories subtitle, in my opinion.

Another great feature could be including an Update Log in the Home Page, to see what gets improved and what goes unchecked.

    Nice job Hannes!

  • posted a message on Would Wizards ever do a new version of an older block? (think Ravnica 2.0)
I would totally support it. I'd love to see Ravnica (Or any other previous plane) again, in any way we revisit it. It can be a set about what happened after the first version, a set about what happened before the first version, a set completing the flavor of the world without meaning a "chaotic knot" in the middle...
But what I would love the most is to see the mechanics come back and mix them together, just like Time Spiral did. There could appear AWESOME combinations. Maybe a set could have some new mechanics and also bring some from the past. That's happening now, we have seen Cycling in Alara and now Kicker in Zendikar. I hope they keep doing this.
About where we will go after the Rise of the Eldrazi, I've heard a lot about the comeback to Mirrodin, so maybe your dreams of Old Plane 2.0 could become true next year!

The Beta is better than the old one in many ways. I like the "Scans Only" view, it's superb. I also like how you made hybrid mana costs valid for both mono-color and multi-color, that's really useful.
About the gray, I like the color the site is right now, it's just slightly darker than the old white.

Random stuff I noticed and thought about, but none of them is really important...
    - Something I would like to see is a way to keep your score on the Art Game, maybe an accuracy percentage. Just to see how well you do.
    - A blank line between "Card Rulings" and "Legality" might make it visually clearer.
    - About the cards in the Restricted list, you could include right there a link to the place in Wizard's site in which that topic is discussed (Reprint Policy and the Restricted List, or sth like that).
    - The same for "timeshifted versions", you could include a link to the original card right there. And maybe also the other way, Giant Growth additional text may say that it has a timeshifted version called Brute Force.
    - Reaper King and the Alara Reborn hybrids still need to get their colors fixed, but you already mentioned this, and I figure it must be a nightmare to code.
    - I miss the "Preferences" menu, but probably it's just a matter of time until you put it into the Beta.

You've done an awesome work here. Old Magiccards.info was great, and the Beta is better. Congratulations. I hope you have it ready for Worldwake!!

  • posted a message on Static Abilities on Planeswalkers
Static abilities won't necessarily make them like creatures. It could be a "neutral" static ability, or another ability that's neither from creatures nor planeswalkers. For example... Suspend. Morph (This would be CRAZY). Cumulative Upkeep. I think that a lot of abilities can be edited in order to fit PWs.

There's no need to punch him. When he pops the Efreet out, you tell him: "Man, you're nuts, I'm not giving you a single card. End of story.".

Nice as a mental excercise. It might work nicely. If you want it to go infinite, you need an untapper for the artifact and infinite mana. But then, you are limited to the cards in his/her hand.

    I love Cancel Jace!
We will probably see other PW like Nissa. I don't know if they are going to be that specific (You know, you are searching for ONE card among thousands), but I'm pretty sure ther will be other "Tribal" Planeswalkers. After all, the PW may have lived in a tribal society before sparking, and that is reflected in its abilities. Or now that he/she is a PW, he/she is dedicated to assist some tribe. Lots of explanations, all make sense.

  • posted a message on help to get infinite turns with magosi
It should be something like this:

On board: Untapped Magosi, the Waterveil, Rings of Brighthearth and an untapper (Unbender Tine, for example).

IMPORTANT: No landrop this turn, you need to drop Magosi after you bounce it to make this work.

    Now:

1st, Activate Magosi's second ability and skip your next turn.
    2nd, Untap it.
3rd, Activate third ability (It gives you nothing, you lost one turn, won another), put it back on your hand.
4th, Copy the ability with the Rings, you now have your extra turn.
5th, Play Magosi again, but it comes into play tapped, so it will be ready to use on your extra turn. This is needed to make this work again on the extra turn.

It's not that difficult to get the cards to make it work. However, a Naturalize can realy screw your plans. Since you are playing blue, keep some mana for countering the eventual menace, or just wait until your opponent has no untapped mana sources.

If somebody plays this combo, I suggest having in mind that you are not getting more lands that the ones you have in the table, at least by the traditional way. So you have infinite turns, but if you don't have another way to sneak lands onto the battlefield, you'll be stuck on the mana you had when you started (Actually, mana you had minus 3, you lose the blue mana Magosi could give, and you spend 2 mana on the Rings' ability). You will totally need some acceleration to take the most advantage of the situation. Remember, besides having infinite turns, you still have to kill the other/s player/s Grin

  • posted a message on Instant allies in WWK?
    Quote from TK-421
There are instant Allies... Sure it's not Standard-legal, but in casual it should be AWESOME!

They are, in fact, instant-speed Allies, but they are worthless, since the Ally mechanic triggers when another Ally comes into play under your control, not when you plan an Ally spell. Of the three you named, the only one that works properly is Crib Swap, because of the Changeling token.
For instant-speed, I'm using Momentary Blink, but I'm playing it casual, not Standard. In Standard, you have to put all your hopes in your Violent Outburst or Bituminous Blast, that's the only way to have a "Flash ally".

Back in topic, Flash Allies DO make sense. Just like when you really need a friend and he shows up. It's not a bad idea, it can be mana-limiting so it's not broken, and it can be FUN, which is a main part in this, that Magic is FUN. Not that design is going this way, or that way. Yes, sure, they have things to keep in mind so that the block makes sense, but to make it fun it is also really important.

One of the other Jailers is probably Nissa Revane, who can be seen with Sorin in a picture that is stated to be from RotE.
The third one will be a surprise, a mindblowing surprise. The fact a fifth PW hasn't been shown yet AT ALL leads me to this idea. I'm pretty sure it is going to be white, being it the only color that lacks of a PW in ZEN block (Here I'm assuming Jace is in WWK, I'm positive).

Eventually, the third set's name gives us a clue of what happens in the end. I mean, it's called "Rise of the Eldrazi", not "Jailed again". Also, the world is said to change completly. What could make this happen? Maybe an epic kind of creature awaking from a long slumber? Sounds like a total yes, so I'm getting the idea that the Eldrazi are going to rule there for a while.

If the Eldrazi get cards, they will be either unplayable or broken. I really want them to be totally broken!!
However, I think in WWK we will just see some crazy stuff and more flavorful cards showing how Zendikar is. Then, in RotE, everything has changed and we're shown a strange new world.
