The reason that Metalworker is banned is because it ramps from 3 to double digits and is too fast (it can come down on turn 1). Rofellos ramps from 3-6, maybe slightly more depending on your deck, but isn't nearly as degenerate, yet is banned as a general.
Let me put it this way. We aren't at an event right now. We are anon people on the internet. I would never give this advice in PTQ setting. Nor has anyone ever been caught and DQed for scenario described. 99.9% of the time i'm going to follow the rules. But this is one of those .01 % of the times win the rule is just silly and doesn't need to be followed. If you think that anyone who is playing MTG currently has never knowing broke a rule your mistaken. For example shuffling your opponents deck every time he presents it, even when he cracks a fetch lands 5 times in all 3 games at a FNM frequently happened during ZEN standard. I'm just being open and honest about it when others are straight lying.
If you wouldn't give this advice in a PTQ setting, why are you giving it now?
I'd consider doing it for $100, especially if you have a store credit buring a hole in your pocket or something. There's a handful of decent commons/uncommons there, so you'd have a slightly better chance of cracking a decent foil. A RUS foil Nettle Sentinel or Wickerbough Elder would probably be worth $5-$10.
Considering a JP Foil Wickerbough Elder is $20, a RU foil is probably more than that.
I believe JTMS was at one point a $90 card, not to mention the set also had Stoneforge Mystic who's price skyrocketed after Batterskull. I assume your talking about the pre-ban period since they were only banned the last 2 months they were in standard.
Stoneforge was already ~$20 when Batterskull came out. It broke out after PT Paris.
Thats the thing, what if there isnt enough information available, and both people are saying different things about how things were? What if the one player in your example who is telling the truth talks about the lockdown and explains what happenned, but the opponant says that there was no lockdown, and there is no way to get them to tell the truth? Then what do you do? (This is also assuming there isnt enough time to play another game, should that be a way to handle an impossible to rule on situation).
There's no such thing as an "impossible to rule on" situation. If there's a he-said she-said, we take both sides and figure out which one we feel as the truth and then work from there.
On the topic of Foils and tournaments, being a (foreign) foil connoisseur myself, I cannot stress this enough: DOUBLE SLEEVE, DOUBLE SLEEVE, DOUBLE SLEEVE. Most of your issues will be prevented by this.
Hi I'm looking for somewhere around this area to play legacy or start a legacy group. Me and my friend tend to play at pair a dice games but they have only had one official legacy event. We tend to draft there since we won't play standard. I'm just lookin for people who maybe want to start playing together and getting a play group going. Even play there for draft of to hang out play
Either post here or prove message me. Thanks hope to find other legacy players
One of my friends was telling someone they needed it and I basically said its unneeded and crappy at best in the deck. He said casting it triggered Sigil of the Empty throne and got you land. I said any enchantment would trigger it and you usually dont need basic plains. What is everyones opinion?
It's bad in this deck. If you're triggering it, you're usually already behind on the curve and that's not where we want to be.
The stranger part of your story is having two draft pods of 5. To be fair, games shouldn't happen between pods, just within pods. You probably should have drafted as a single 10 person pod with 4 rounds.
Drafting as a single 10 person pod would have been ideal there.
That being said, generally as long as you have normal-size pods, your Drafts should only be 3 rounds.
When did I ever say I see EDH "as a format which should require no skill, thinking, deck construction or play ability."?
First of all, EDH IS the format where it doesn't HAVE to require skill, thinking, or deck construction or play ability. It is a format for people who want to do what they please. Wanna play nothing but Homarids? This is the place to do it.
Secondly, if you read what I said which you clearly didn't, I was pointing out that people play with Sundering Titan to bum people out. If it doesn't do much, which many people here have already stated, then what is the point of playing it other then to create a negative experience which 9 times out of 10 it does?
Vorinclex is a winter orb effect. Nobody particularly enjoys Winter Orb. If you do, good for you. I don't want to play with you. You will probably have a great time playing with your uber competitve spike buddies who only care about winning. When I want to play a Spike format, I will go play in a Grand Prix or Legacy open series or whatever and I perfectly understand what I am getting myself into if I get all my mana base destroyed by Wasteland on turn 2-3 or my win-con countered.
Playing a couple of Counterspells isn't a Spiky format; it's playing a reasonable game of Magic. If you don't want to think during a Magic game... why are you playing Magic? The whole idea behind the game is that it's a mind test.
Also, you're making ridiculous generalizations about people that like to play certain cards.
I play Magic mostly by art, not by reading what the card does. You should try it. ;-)

That being said, if you have the money, playing the Onslaught lottery seems fine. (And fun; I did it a few weeks ago.)
Stoneforge was already ~$20 when Batterskull came out. It broke out after PT Paris.
The official site should be up soon, hopefully.

Mission accomplished. Now for Mission: Impossible (AKA: Finding Enchantress's Presences)
