Jun 24, 2010bloodghasts posted a message on Mono-White 'Transcendent Sovereign'I think Eternity Vessel might be a little counterproductive, since this deck will optimally be showing increase in life every turn, and it competes in mana slot with Felidar Sovereign who is a very likely win con. I'd suggest removing it, and maybe two other things, for 4 Rest for the Weary. It's a truly amazing card, especially for early-game lifegain, while Wall of Omens is still keeping the opponent at bay. I was about to suggest Survival Cache too, and now I've just noticed your "Considering" part, I'm glad we're on the same page. Does Wall of Reverence really help much? I haven't used it but it seems like Transcendent Master could better use one of its slots, and then maybe the other two could go to making Rest for the Weary a playset. I like how in a few months when the rotation is complete, despite losing Cradle of Vitality and Knight of the White Orchid, you get Ajani's Pridemate and Goldenglow Moth, which is a pretty damn good tradeoff.Posted in: Free 7hinker's Deck Space

Also I'll get a Demon of Dark Schemes for Athreos Shadowbown Apostles.
I might pick up a foil Filigree Familiar for if I ever rebuild Saffi Eriksdotter, as it's a super easy combo card and is almost as good sac-recur value as Solemn himself.
And then I played some games. Generating a lot of mana was of course easy since half the deck was cheap mana rocks that would just pay for each other so I could empty my hand and cast him again. But I didn't realize how much mana I would actually end up generating. It turns out you can kill people pretty quickly when your hand is constantly gas and every time someone kills your semi-evasive two-shotter you just cast him again. Because, as I quickly realized, they'll run out of removal, and you'll never run out of Kozilek.
I just wanted a cool colorless deck that draws a lot of cards, but it turned into archenemy in any game where opponents didn't draw mass artifact destruction. It's sad cause I can't really even bring it out anymore. I know a lot of the deck's power is due to the fact that not a lot of people I play with run Vandalblast/Stony Silence, but regardless, unless other people are bringing out decks that are kind of oppressive, my reality-distorting buddy just stays in his deck box.

Delirium - If there are four or more card types amongst cards in your graveyard, search the graveyard, hand and library of that spell's owner for cards with the same name as that spell, exile those cards, then that player shuffles his or her library
This is a strictly better Envelop, and, more importantly, it's a modern-legal Envelop. I assume Shatterstorm and Creeping Corrosion are pretty big problems for this deck. So this counters that (but as a card is pretty narrow), and if you happen to have Delirium, they can't cast another one, and then you also get information on what they have left in their hand/deck. Again, I don't know a ton about this deck, I just wanted to bring this to your attention in case it merits discussion.
Kaseto: Dismiss into Dream, Cowardice, and Willbreaker all cause Kaseto to become "UG: remove/bounce/gain control of target creature," respectively.
Mizzix: Epic Experiment, like other X spells is good with Mizzix because you can get an extra mana for X in for each of its experience counters. This, however, has the added bonus of likely giving more experience counters to Mizzix since you cast the cards you reveal and you can stack the cards how you want so that you cast your 1 drops first, 2 drops second, then 3 drops etc, all in order, to give a ton of counters.
Daxos: Anything with constellation is good since the tokens are enchantments themselves. Also Heartstone makes the tokens cost one less to make.
Kalemne: Cards that lower the cost of your creatures are good because his ability checks the converted mana cost, not how much you paid for the card. So stuff like Cloud Key/Semblance Anvil lets you cheat a little and get bigger things out for cheaper while making your commander bigger.
Mazirek: Pentavus lets you just pay 2 to give a +1/+1 counter to your team at any point since you remove one counter for a thopter for 1 and sacrifice it for 1 to get two counters on Pentavus and one on each of your other creatures.
But in all seriousness, there are many things you can do with a 5c land base. You could build another 5 color deck, i.e. 5 color goodstuff, allies, slivers, or something more creative and/or wacky.
Things I can think of off the top of my head that feel more creative (but also are inherently less competitive) and that I've always wanted to see someone play is "5 color options," where you run a bunch of charms/commands/"choose one" cards; 5 color cascade, where you can run every cascade spell ever so that every time you cast something you have the chance to cast 3 or 4 other things, and you can also run cards like Ancestral Visions to cascade into; 5 color reanimator, which opens you up to every reanimator target since you won't be restricted by color identity (and you'll be able to cast all of them with enough mana); 5 color primal surge where your only non-permanent is primal surge and have stuff in the deck that would win the game upon you resolving primal surge like Avenger/Craterhoof/Maelstrom Wanderer; and one that could use the most cards you have which would be "5 color strictly worse Hermit Druid" where instead of a fun-crushing one card combo, you tutor up some really awful (but so much more insulting to lose to) 4+ card rube goldberg combo.
1. If you don't want to get them, is it because of the crazy high prices? Since the prices are probably going down some amount, how much cheaper would they have to be for you to make the investment? If it's not about the money money money, what is your reason against getting them?
2. If you are getting them, is it just because they look the best to you, or because they're arguably the most "pimp" version of the cards, or for another reason? How aggressively will you be going for them (i.e. you'll buy them if you don't find them, or you'll only get them if you see them for trade, etc.)?
I personally am going to try to get them for my deck because they look the best to me and because it's a lands-matter deck and a couple other reasons (like the fact that Zendikar is my favorite plane and I love full art stuff). I will be trying to trade for the on-color expeditions as much as possible, and depending on how many I can find and acquire, I might just slowly order the rest online if I'm close to completing the set in my colors.
