Is Sentinel Tower going to be too main-stream storm to make it in?

Bonus Round seems like a good pick-up for the deck.

How did the Null Paradox experiment hash out?

I really enjoy your decks, you're one of my favorite brewers Grin

That certainly cleans up some deck-slots. No need to attempt to combo up Loots and Ovalchase when we get a straight draw in the 2drop slot instead.

Someone do a gatherer search on what we have in new standard that is great with this.

Wispweaver Angel plus a fabricate creature*

*These are going to be in Kaladesh

You're going to need another fabricate creature or a second Wispweaver Angel in there if you want to get the full effect (with the 2nd Wispweaver making it infinite, but a 4 card combo involving multiple 6 mana creatures is rather tame as far as infinites go). You can target the same creature twice with Wispweaver, but the first Wispweaver resolution is going to make that creature stop being the target of the other Flicker, since it left play and returned, and Wispweaver's ability can't target herself. So it's pretty hard to break her at less than 3 creatures.

Also, is this DesolatorMagic? Guessing by the OMG STANDARD BANS and Capslock Smile

It's nice that there's a Modern PPTQ season coming up for all our locals to forget about standard with.

If it's a tournament, anything goes.

If people have a bad time, it's the fault of everyone deciding to put money down on a horrifically imbalanced competitive format in which players further amplify the imbalance by approaching it at different "bloodthirsty"-ness levels.

Multiplayer tournaments are even worse. Adding rampant collusion on top of the existing massive imbalances? Yuck.

Anyone who comes into an EDH tournament who is surprised when it doesn't end in a magical hugging circle probably needed that wake up call.

Outside of tournaments? I'm a combo/control player, always have been. My local play group loathes those decks in EDH. In order to make sure everyone is having fun when we play casual games, I don't play my combo and control decks. Just like I'd have my "OMG B/W KNIGHTS" deck for casual back when I was playing Stasis in tournaments. What's fun or not for your local playgroup is something you shouldn't have to go to a forum to ask.

  • posted a message on Building a Grimgrin Sacrifice deck. Need Help
Tombstone Stairwell and Dawn of the Dead have great interactions with Grimgrin. Dawn of the Dead is especially strong if you keep a good suite of enters-the-battlefield effects critters around to continually ressurect, then sac to Grimgrin before they exile. The stairwell just stuffs Grimgrin like a zombie turducken, at an absurd rate.

Also, I'd suggest running Lightning Greaves or the Swift Boots from M12 (or both). Grimgrin is a 3 turn clock, so giving him haste can really put the opponent under pressure (as well as allowing you to use Grimgrin as clutch creature removal).

Additionally, if you go for token creatures to keep Grimgrin running, I highly suggest Helm of Possession, since Grimgrin gives you a sac outlet to help you cycle through your opponents' creatures.

  • posted a message on What happened to Lin Sivvi?
A deck that crutches on an infinite life combo as its primary abusive strategy kinda fell flat when decks moved towards combo kills//infect surprises//fast general voltron'ing rather than rar-creature-battle. An infinite life Linn Sivvi deck loses to a Clique or Doran deck as quickly as a 40 life Linn Sivvi deck. The format cares less about your life total than it used to, and since Lin Sivvi is restricted to monowhite, she doesn't have a very reliable way to turn that excess life into proactive action. She has a few cards that if your opponent doesn't use removal on, win you the game on your upkeep, which is nice, but there's tons of cards that fill that particular role for many decks, so it's not all that special.

Still, she should bend over casual play decks pretty hard. That's not really an enviable place to be in though, the "I make casual players pissed off but fail to dent competitive decks" niche is pretty much just a Dbag niche Smile

Of course, I played stasis forever and a day, so I enjoy said niche...

Also, if you're in an environment that relies heavily on wraths as a primary form of removal, they're in for a skullcrushing if anyone plays a moderately competitive archetype.

Spot removal is incredibly important, and Mom tells it to go to its room and think about what it tried to do.

but every single deck will end up with less permanents in play (unless you play no non-permanents, which is unlikely even in a warp world deck).

Uh, the token decks that are generally the ones abusing it say hi. Their permanents-generated-to-cards-in-deck ratio is usually over 1:1. Warp World is pure profit for most token decks, while also pox'ing the non-token decks.

It's not starting a new game, it's using your advantageous board state to multiply your current effectiveness within the game. Combining it with landfall beneficiaries such as Ob Nixilis, Rampaging Baloths, Roil Elemental, or Emeria Angel only makes it worse for the opponents. It's stupidly brutal in Hazezon Tamar, since your tokens will come out and be shoveled into your warp world engine before they have a chance to cast a non-Route boardsweep.

Might I suggest looking into Shield Sphere for the deck? It provides a decent deterrent to early attacks, as well as functioning as a giant colorless butt to nuke with your own Nin for up to 5 cards at a time without killing it. I mostly like it because of the free-ness, as you really want to be able to leave mana up often in Nin decks.

Blue gives you Time Walks and Counter-magic to prevent Wraths.
Green gives you mass token generation and Regrowth effects.
Edric gives you the card draw to get access to all of it, with the capacity to power a continuous series of turns that end in every opponent being dead.

I'll trust an Edric player about as far as I can throw them.

Notorious Throng is the utter and complete bonkers for this general. It can make a silly number of evasive token creatures for a mere 4 mana. Your general is a Rogue, so you can Prowl it for an extra turn as well, giving you immediate value from those new tokens before anyone can Wrath them away.

Heck, it seems like the spymaster is ideal for abusing card draw, graveyard recursion (oh, I'm in the color of Regrowth effects and twincast effects, sure!) and token creatures to chain bonus turns one after another until the enemies are dead.
