Due to a need to maintain confidentiality with Curse discussions, I can't put as much detail in this post as I would wish. As such, every bit above the break is paraphrased to the best of my ability.

Suffice to say, there was no miscommunication with Curse. We were outright told to close the Gutter, and to say that we decided it ourselves so that they wouldn't take over the site in a hostile situation. A logical and businesslike choice, but not good for our website.

We asked them to reconsider with a long a heartfelt email. The response from our liaison was "Oh, sure, that was negotiable. It was 5 am and I was just making a logical choice for the website, no decision will be made until the site changes hands. You guys took this too seriously."

Now, the chat where we were told to close the Gutter, in no uncertain terms, took place on the 14th of September. Any Gutter member can go to the Pegging chamber and see that, while things were rocky then, the staff was still in there and working. However, up until the 14th, there was a significant chance that Curse would close/neuter the Gutter. We didn't want to make a deal with the Gutter we coudl not keep. But we didn't want to simply say 'end of negotiation' and hang the Gutter out to dry. And we were under gag order on the deal, so we couldn't say anything about it. We simply had to be slower with our responses and hope the deal would go through quickly.

There was no dealing in bad faith. We did as much as we could, with the information available, under OUR gag order.

In addition to this, about that time, there was plenty of drama throughout the site that kept us occupied and unable to post or hash things out as much as we would have liked.

Because of our commitments to the deal, we couldn't be transparent. But we have not lied to the community. We used as much of the room afforded to us as we could (very little).

tl;dr: There was no miscommunication, we were told to close the Gutter, then Curse changed their minds. We did not deal with the Gutter in bad faith. We didn't get the official 'close' orders until 9-14-2012.

Only the last code doesn't work. Maybe you should double check it, Biran.
