You guys want a good laugh? Go to application process of MGM Mirage. At first I was laughing at it's stupidity and inefficiency.....after two and a half hours of strait filling out it's application I was just frusterated to no end. It's worse with a 56K modem.

    Application:
Enter your name: Chris ---> Next
****waits for next page to load up****
Enter your last name: Bernau ---> Next
****Waits for next page to load up****
Confirm your first name: Chris...yes...no----> Next
****Waits for next page to load up****
Confirm your last name: Bernau...yes...no----> Next
****waits for next page to load up****
Is this correct? Name: Chris Bernau...yes...no...---> Next
****Waits for next page to load up****

Ack! I guess you'd have to just apply to see how it is done. But it seriously made you imput everything separatly. Dates, times, names, ect. Gosh...and this is a major casino. Bah....boycott! .....um...unless they hire me.

I talked to AgentKami ages ago...I just don't see her online anymore. I have Lejakals AIM and see her on regularly, at least I think it's her. I don't say hi much and she doesn't talk to me. I see Dementia once in a while, but I avoid him as much as possible. I find him detestable and stinky....very very stinky. :puke:

I've been doing the same things I have always done. Go to school in the winter and go to my scoutcamp in the summer. I retired from my scoutcamp this year, 9 years dedicated service and no retirement, what crap. Sure I claimed to be retired for years, but this time I really mean it. I recently went to Southeast Asia, a bit east of the earthquake, to do research on exploding ants, that was fun. Right now I am unsuccessfuly looking for a job. Aparently biology majors are not in demand. Frown

Yeah, sensoring this site is rediculous and shows that this S_S guy wont stand for opinions different from himself. From what I've seen and read that guy is just full of himself and is going to rull mtgnews as if everything he says is pure gold. How arrogant. It's too bad, I really liked mtgnews.

I thought Misetings always said thing against MTGnews. I don't know who SCG is.

Well, the image poster seems to work, but it doesn't seem able to upload the picture I want. Maybe the picture is just to large. 2.31 MB is quite big for a picture I guess...anyone know how to fix that?

I watched a movie the other day. A series of unfortunate events. People were saying great things about it, it was getting rave reviews, and jim carry was in it. So I was excited to go. I have never been so bored at a movie I paid good money to watch. My gosh I couldn't believe this thing. Maybe if I had read the books I would have enjoyed it, but seriously I can't imagin why it's doing so good.

  • posted a message on Global Warming - Coming to an Icecap Near You!
We can all agree that the average global temperature of the earth is increasing. The earth has been in a series of cycles of global heating and cooling for tens of thousands of years. So the fact that we are warming up comes to no surprise. The problem comes when we analyze the rate at which we are increasing. According to glacial core temperatures and other ancient temperature analyzing techniques we are currently increasing in temperature at a rate faster than we have ever recorded. So what’s causing it?

Many people are too quick to dismiss human involvement. A lot simply say that the human species could not possibly effect the earth at the magnitude that it is currently projected. They would be wrong. The human effect on the global biodiversity itself has been shown to be catastrophic. So it’s not farfetched to think that we could effect the atmosphere in a similar way.

It has already been said that the Earth is just coming out of an Ice age so a bit of warming is not to unusual. It has also been said that one volcano puts out a gargantuan amount of pollution which includes the majority of Carbon Dioxide. These are both true. What has not been said is that this carbon dioxide does not stay in the atmosphere, or at least in the past it had not stayed in the atmosphere. It had been absorbed by carbon dioxide sinks. Sinks being places where Carbon Dioxide goes and is stored. The graph presented by Quilt illustrates this nicely, it shows a seasonal fluctuation of CO2 which is explained by the growing seasons of plants, plants being one of the major CO2 sinks in the world. Others include the Ocean, Deep Ocean, artic, peat moss, oil reserves.

Though the amount of Pollution we pump out is vast and of concern. Our interaction with the global carbon sinks is more important. Our effect on the planets forests, especially tropical forests, as well as the dead zones we created in the ocean has a large effect on their capacity to be a carbon sink. The use of fossil fuels brings to the atmosphere a sink that has remained hidden since the carboniferous age. The positive feed back loop from the artic and rest of the ocean, though largely natural, may increase in frequency due to the destruction of the other sinks. So our involvement has had a major effect.

The result is that we have caused the planetary CO2 level to become much much higher than it has ever had before. The last time CO2 levels were this high was the carboniferous age, and that was a while ago. So we have reason to worry.

How worried is a matter of opinion. The projections is that ocean levels will rise, not like water world, but you can say bye bye to the current coasts and places like the Netherlands. More and more houses will need Air conditioners and will be running them more often (Good for stocks I would think). Growing seasons will increase, though weather patters are as of yet unpredictable. A lot of people will die, but then a lot of people die now and nobody seem to care. Biodiversity will be farther devastated and a lot of the equator may become uninhabitable for people. But that’s all speculation. How severe any of that is anyone’s best guess.

Laton: Global warming projections are based on temperature data collected from glacial coring.

Quilt: I don’t think you can draw the conclusion that CO2 is rising cause of humans from that graph. Just that there appears to be a correlation between CO2 and Temperature.

PostScript: I will attempt to attach a graph of CO2 in ppm that has been gathered from glacier coring. It’s a famous graph so you’ve all probably seen it. It simply shows that CO2 is higher now than we have ever seen And it shows temperature correlation to the CO2.

Hmmm...I did not realize that he had not posted for the past two clan threads. That is indeed a long time, and with no explanation? I see. In that case I guess I will change my vote to Yes.

I vote to hold off for at least a week if not more to get settled. Who knows, inactivity may be due to computer crashing, scoutcamps, or perhaps even a reseach trip to the tropics. In any case, it may be temporary.

Okay....3 down....72 to go. What do you mean I should have gotten more done in 4 hours? I have to admit I got distracted. I am having a debate with a friend online and got involved posting....two...posts on his forum. I used to think the kid was pritty intelegent for his young age...he's around 17. But these debates have gone downhil fast. The blasted kids placing all sorts of assumptions and he has his own definitions for various words like proof and christianity and such. Ah well, my fault for wasting my time. Now for these forums. :-p

Yeah, I'll avoid credit card debt as much as possible. I'm not bad off right now, but with me being unemployed it can only get worse.

I think it would be fun to have new friends. I'm unsure as to if we're going to need more members though. I think most if not all of us moved in the....um....move?

How many clans do we have organized right now on the forum? A good number? I was just remembering all the old clan contests we used to have. Mainly the card creation ones that I always loved. Smile

Well, back to job hunting. My new tactic is to go to dexonline, type in Ecology, then either look up thier websites and look at thier employment options or call them up. 75 organizations....this may take a while.

Wow...this came out of left field....I mean I knew that there were some problems and that some things needed to be fixed, but I never thought that MTGnews would disban the way it did. Blast Raa for his unfulfilled promises. DG must be rolling in his grave!

I go where the clan goes. Most my posts are in the clan thread anyway. I have plenty of time in the new year since I am still unemployed and my interview today didn't go to well.

I better get a job fast or I wont be able to go to Brunei in May. I guess I could use my Credit card for it....but Credit card debt sounds rather scary to me. I'm already at a point where I need to use a cash advance on my credit card to pay the minimum on my credit card. I'd hate to have $5000 more on it to try to pay off. ($5000 means multiple credit cards maxed out.)

Yup, I was possibly the first official Admin. Untill DG found his mistake anyway.

Nice to see your on board here Saka. Things changed quite suddenly. I didn't even have time to understand exactly what is going on.

I go where my Clan goes.

Hmmm.....it's sad how MTGnews has fallen. Too bad, I have been there for over 3 years.

This community looks hopeful and I am glad to be a new member. A new year and a new site.
