I don't know any russian but in the third block of cards, the black creature next to the black spirit link I think is a spellshaper for Guided Strike, or at least thats what the text/picture relation would make me think.
By the way I love Draining Whelk!
I can only come up with 5 off the top of my head but I'm sure there's more. Here they are in no particular order:
Foiled - Blue October
Ta Dah! - Scissor Sisters
Teenage Graffiti - The Pink Spiders
Sam's Town - The Killers
Over The Wall - Get Back Loretta
and I cannot wait until febuary, bloc party's new albums comes to the U.s.
So, valor+sosuke+warrios = easy combat. Zealot's provide enchantment/artifact hate, tolsimir is a nice bit of global pump and if your warriors fail you have mystic enforcer.
So you lead with some annoying dudes, drop as many venoms/copies as possible then make sure they take damage from the venoms. All of the counters in the deck are soft, and the creatures all pull nice imitations as well. Glowrider ups the cost of most spells and limited resources makes sure that they can't out run your venoms with tons of land. Finally opposition and rishadan port can just tap the venom'd lands down for damage.
I've neer really though of bloc party as indie, but I guess I can see it. Anyways I absolutely LOVE bloc party, and I'm dieing for the new cd to come out (feb 5th in the us). Other fav's of mine would include Interpol, Hot Hot Heat, Blue October, Pink Spiders, The Scissor Sisters(though I'm not sure you can reallly consider them indie, more like ignored in the US).
@Villain: I've heard discotech but I can't say I'm a fan, something about it is just grating to me.
I also recently heard a couple bands I'd like to investigate (sampler cd's ftw) so if anyone's heard of them I'd love to know your opinions. The names were Get Back Loretta, We Are The Fury, Scenic Attraction, and The Record Life. The thing only had a song by each but they all sounded promising.
Just thought I'd try my hand at coming up with a new odyssey deck. It's nothing special but I noticed there's a good assortment of white weenies + divine sacrament so I think that perhaps a WW/u deck could have success.
The low land count is supported by the low curze + 8 one mana draw spells so land shouldn't be a concern. It looks slow but threshold can be acheived around turn 3/4 and when it does you have an evasive horde of large white creatures. Ray of distortion is to give the deck a chance against stuff like visions/other enchantment heavy decks. Also the mystic crusader does a great job f being hard to get rid of, except by torment. I wanted to work in some form of countermagic/pseudo-removal but I didn't know what to take out. Basically the deck plays mostly like the one ody. has know but has evasion and has an easier time getting to threshold, which I think would help alot.
crap, I really wanted to do this Well I'll be interested to see who wins.
Out of curiosity, Nightmare, did anyone offer to become the new chairman after this tournament?
Ok, first of all I apologize for not posting in like the past week and a half school sort of sucked my life up for a bit.
At the moment there really isn't a whole lot going on. I totally disagree with lynching flame, however I am totally up for replacing him regardless of the crappy situation that the replacee is put in.(Blacklist also seems like a reasonable suggestion) I don't see Fist's case on HRoth at all. Literally.
I'm still not going to vote anyone, I don't see anyone particularly suspicous, but I will reread tonight and come back with something tomorrow.
I know exactly who I targeted. Actually I'm pretty sure it won't matter when I say it this time because the randomisation had me targeting one of the people that died.
The only other thing I have this moment is that I'd also like the cultist to come out.
Ok I'm here, and he randomisation royally screwed up my investigation.
And also the fact that Axel shows up townie makes it seem as if he would be a vig.
I don't think the long night was mod error. My pm's were going a little crazy (as in not being sent) and I didn't notice until recently.
Sorry I haven't said anything the past few days. I'm about to go to bed so tomorrow after school I will post more regarding my suspicions. However for now I will suffice it to say that I don't find nymphe suspicious. Going back to my logic from when beaker first went after nymphe. He's new and won't understand certain rules immeadiately (such as not knowing that once a lynch is reached votes can't be removed).
@Beaker: Couple questions regarding your PBPA, or to anyone in general:
1. How were nymphes posts overlydefensive (I just see him explaining why he posted the vote and conditional recall)
2. You point out nymphe attacks mosschops alot, however you attacked mosschops just as often (for reference, you go after mosschops in posts 110, 160, 169, and 214) So why attack nymphe for this when you did it more?
I have a few more points but I need the time to quote everything which will take a while.
Quick creatures to apply early pressure. Lay down a series of annoying enchantments that either keep them from getting more creatures or life, or force a good chunk of it. When they try to blow up one make them hit the wastes for 5. The champion makes for a nice finisher as well.
I'm also against Flame claiming.
A name claim wouldn't be able to solve much here and I'm against a full claim this early into day 1 on a player that has exhibited so many signs of being new.
Just to get my opinion out there I don't think Flame is scum, but I'm rather annoyed by his posting style.
[quote=Coiled Flame;1413605 My Enigma vote was for reasons I already explained, which noone seems to believe. [/quote]
Hey, I'm sorry to bug you but I can't seem to find where you explained this vote. It's not a big deal but I'm still curious.
Maybe I'm crazy or something but I really don't see whats so scummy about WoD's vote on himself, it really seemed like a joke to me.
I believe I will unvote: Beaker He explained his reasoning behind the original vote, and it did do what he wanted. Also his posting has been relatively good, constructive. Thats all for now.
??? This is strange... I may just be over suspicious, but... Why would anyone care about posting after Cyan, or am I just not getting the point of this? Unvote, Vote nymphe.
See, this goes back to thinking before posting. The reason it matters was because nymphe was talking directly to cyan, but that with me posting in between it was made ambiguous. So nymphe double posted to clarify so that people would understand his point. You stretching to find this suspicious and voting it when you aren't even sure that it is suspicious makes no sense. Also you've been making a point that you were going to continue voting C_F until something more promising came along (As a defense against fos'ing Diggy) and you switch like that to nymphe? I have a hard time believing you to be scum but please make an effort to make sense.
