Thatu didn't kill Pietre tho. The girlfriend did.

    The rest is my speculation.

The accord being broken may have been Pietre being sent to attack Thatu. This could be a classic conspiracy gone wrong.

Someone wants the accord broken. And somehow Reika gets the "Bloodletter".

Thatu hasn't broken the accord himself, and fears still greater that his recent thoughts please him. These may be new thoughts since acquiring the "Bloodletter", which I hope is a cursed sword.

The mayor wants to get rid of Pietre.

They (Thatu or someone And the Mayor) work something out where a young/easily killed vampire is in position to be killed by Pietre.

Pietre is then declared a hero by the mayor, and goes off to the bigger city for training and to fight vampires. Once he reaches his destination, the fact that he was tricked out of all his world possessions before he got there doesn't raise any red flags for the trainers of the competency of the hero.

They "fully" train him in two weeks and send him out to destroy Thatu, who Pietre was unaware about the accord.
This attack break the accord, and provokes Thatu, influenced by the cursed sword, to take back the night once again.

From here either Thatu terrorizes the night, or actual vampire slayers come in and kill him, opening the area up to an agreement with another vampire group or more control from the church. Some group also gains the Bloodletter.

The Mayor will also feel guilt over the part he plays in this ordeal, which is often near the ending of a horror tell that doesn't kill everyone.

I'm not sure when the rule of max 4 of the same card was put in place, it was after I started playing because I remember thinking how much weaker my goblin grenade deck was going to be.

Also early on we played for the ante. That stopped after nearly everyone in the group had "lost" one of their top cards.

Which brings up the question: Could neowalker bolas be able to handle any portion of the power that planeswalker bolas might have stored in the mask with out blowing up? Granted if any of the neowalkers could it would be him for a variaty of reasons (it's his old power, he's familiar to it, and he's familiar to weilding much more power)

Even if the evil eye belongs to some "new" tiamat like thing that is Alara only ( like how Oona is Loy/Shadowmoor only), it Should have be Nolas!

    yo wuts up

    - should i buy some more of that series or no?
    - is buying individual cards the way to go or just packs or both?

That series (Shadowmoor and Eveningtide) have alot of easy to play cards in it due to the hybrid mana cost. You'll find othere sets run a bit more rigid.

Depending on how much you think you are going to be playing in the future and how serious you get, packs for a bulk set of cards, then indiv for any holes you have or cards you just want.

As far as building a deck: (this is totally causual advice)
you can either build for the current standard enviroment (check forums) or if you are going to be more casual : Most 60 card decks run about 23-24 lands, with some people playing 50% creatures,50% other spells with the remaining 36ish cards, for aggro decks I'll run 28ish creatures and ten spells, control and combo decks vary.
Try to get cards that work well together, and most important have fun.

Ok theres my know-it-all-ism for the night, have a good one!

Yes and the Knight in the picture appears to be pointing at it, so it's not just something random.

Also Bone Splinters' flavor text references something called the "Split-Eye Coven". A group on Grixis that almost certainly follows the same master as the Order of the Skyward Eye on Bant. If this master has followers on more than one Shard, then that would seem to confirm that it is a planeswalker.

While I'm a fan of the Bolas camp, What if the deities of Alara got shattered along with the lands and the mana? The creator gods, good and bad, had their essences' shattered and spread amongst the planes and are influencing events and groups. Different groups in different planes might be worshiping very similar gods because the different gods formed from the shattered essences’.

Hmm, a planeswalker is a much simpler explanation. (GO BOLAS!)

Since the ability on the knight is giant growth but more expensive, I'll admit it's not in Bolas' nature. But I don't think Bolas is investing any magic or mana into the knights, just communicating with them to get them to unwittingly spread fear in bant. If there were any shard's mana that Bolas would use to recoporiate himself, it was grixis.

IF Bolas has found himself weakened, he'll probably use any minion he could convince to do his bidding towards his ends. Godheads who have lost their power usually will do anything to try to get it back.

Sounds like you need a bailout package Wink
I gathered from what you said that this is a long term relationship, since high school,
and your GF has alot of expectations of how you should be treating her. I know its hard to step back and look at your situation without emotional attachment, but try to ask yourself this.
Does she give you the same or more appreciation, love, respect, understanding, resources (time, cash, opprotunities) that you give her?

If you answered no the best thing might be dropping cold turkey. You'll both get over it, you'll both have friends, old and new, and you Will be able to find someone better for you. Just try to not hook up with the same type of person or it will be history repeating itself. (Which has happened to a few friends of mine.)

I've been married three years, and have been with my wife for 5 years before that.
We treat each other as equals. That doesn't mean we are 50/50 at all times, there are times when l've had to give alot more then she could return, and when the situations reversed she was there for me. Either one of us would and metaphorical have walked to the ends of the earth for the other.

You guys do know the a sub-theme of Esper is that they are running out of etherium?

So they aren't really happy to have more people to artifact-up.

All the more reason they have to destroy that which they do not want.
such as naya, jund, grixis. I think Esper would want to assimlate Bant.

Gun jumping is so fun tho!
    proposal:
Long ago bolas shattered Alara and gathered what mana he could to expand his planeswalker powers. He goes on to kill leviations and Black myojins yada yada yada, seals a rift with the corpse of leschrac, and leaves for his meditation plane. Eventually Bolas has left his meditaion plane to find his planeswalker powers have decreased after all. So he decides to go back to the visinity of Alara to finish the job of absorbing its abundent mana in an attempt to bloster his power, but because he is weaker now more then ever, he has to manipulate pawns to meet his ends. If we look hard enough in flavor text, and the guide, we should be able to find some type of (mysterious) influence in each shard. (all conjecture of course)
Bant: Knight (and order?) of the Skyward Eye.
Esper: Tezzert found that there were deeper secrets blah blah
    Naya: ?
Jund: Sometype of connection to Sarkhan Vol, And don't Forget before Bolas accended, he was an elder dragon legend.
    Grixis: Does fit his colors.

Can I add a question about Skill Borrower and if an equipment is the top card. Could the Borrower be equiped onto a creature? Somehow I doubt it, but I don't know why it wouldn't work.
