so, the whole threads about the negative effect of having a magic show, im really the only one who think that the fact that its based around alara is stupid, really, way to push a previous block if there were a mtg show the only way for it to make sense would be to keep it moving plot line to plot line if previews come out in august the show will probably be released in September, therefore it should be about zendicar
i did really well, but i cant say i have alot of good stories, "i played overrun" isnt really a good story but a strong finish to many games on a related note, master of the wild hunt is a ridiculous bomb that won me alot of games
Actually, shroud on Kalonian Behemoth makes it worse than Plated Slagwurm. That means no sledgehammers, swords, cloaks, pump spells, or broken magic sticks. Sure, it's really big, but casual would probably take Thorn Elemental, Primalcrux, or something else over it. It's not like there's a shortage of backbreaking green fat to choose from. That's why they're all down in the dollar range. It's not like casual is restricted to standard or anything.
Theres this thing called sarcasm, look into it, the post your referring to was referring to the fact that "that dies to removal" isnt really a good argumant against something, if it were the behemoth would then have to be better than the angel, so yeah, sarcasm
on topic:Thanks alot for posting this, i got alot of these cards at the pre-re (my fave being my foil darksteel) we'll have to see how this ships up but i echo a few others when i say keep an eye on token producers
the only card that really makes me think this might work is that blue wall where the creatures dont untap that may be able to slow them down enough, but its still really risky and that walls an uncommon so its probably hard to get 2 and youd kinda need that its probably not the smartest statagy
first of all, i kind of like jump, a combat trick everyone has written off will completely blow people out in limited, no one expects it so no one will take it into account, and really the card isn't bad, its perfectly fine
why have i read this entire thread with no mention of mirror of fate? the card literally doesn't have a use it costs 5 and says t you loose the game
there isn't even a card that makes this card make sense it just doesn't have a use
honestly with the new savanna lions and spectral procession in standard along with fod and pte white weenie may be viable and thus honor the pure may be a chase card
also baneslayer angel will be a chase card regardless of if it makes a deck or not, people will buy them just in case at first then if it doesnt pop, casual players will still want them badly
as a limited player i really like this set, i think its pretty well balanced, (for the most part, slayer angel or whatever is the biggest bomb in the set and nothing else even comes remotely close) i love edition drafting though, after a while i get really sick of jumping through creature type and color hoops and gimmics, id actually really like a core type block with no story line or hard set themes, just basic cards and three sets worth that can be drafted in order, but thats not going to happen, anyways, i think the set will be highly draftable (although you probably wont be drafting blue unless you pick up alot of snapping drakes) so yeah i guess i would like blue to be up to speed for the rest of the set, but for the most part im very excited for this release and really look forward to this enviroment
Yeah, if kids already know enough about Magic to know the distribution between pack types then they should be smart enough. But what about people that don't know? The ones that see a $2 product and a $4 product and just want to throw one in the cart for kicks and giggles?
this is totally true, this reminds me of when i first started playing i bought alot of homelands and fallen empires because the packs were cheaper and i assumed it was a better value
Ok first Everlasting Torment dosen't wreck me trust me I have played agianst it, and Forbidding Watchtower comes into play tapped and that waste me a turn.
if you take out soul warden which doesnt seem to do anything in your deck (you gain enough life, you dont need a frail 1/1 for 1) then first turn watch tower seems real good
I think akroma might be back and i think it would be cool to have mindslaver in a base set so probly those, a few more legends and the lorowyn planeswalkers
i think child is the best and may be in 5cc and posibly even a 1 of in some maniquin builds, i think pheonix has potential in something maybe, malstorm archanmgel is cool but wont be used its abillity is too dependent on you having something good in hand especially now when there a bit of a ficus on discard, i like compossit just because its a wubrg in uncommon but its not all that impressive
i dont really get mana screwed because i never need more than 2 land, like ever which is why im hesitant to play the arcmage yawgmouths will would actually be aceptable within my group (see the aformantioned arms race, really anything goes at this point) but i dont know how much those cost

in a format where everyone is playing 5 colors you shouldnt have any trouble casting things
i disagree your a fool if your passing these in draft
