nothing for us in DTK, unfortunately Frown

another magic set and more modern neglect!

this is just a stretch of the imagination but 1 card i saw was Corpseweft, being the deck that we are we have the creature cards necessary to fuel this enchantment. exiling creature cards is part of the activation cost so it is unlikely an opponent could exile the graveyard and take away from you making the big zombie token.
-the zombie token is where the problem lies, its just a vanilla.

    Ty a lot Gruulsmash.

I played a de on modo last day and went 3-1 (u can find the record on the zabulicaionut twitch).

    I have the following questions:

1.When is the 4th SSG coming in?
    2. How do u feel about the Blind Obedience vs the twin deck?

    Thank you.

against twin generally damping matrix and dismember are better stoppers, that way you leave Living end itself in the deck. you want LE so you can wipe out there board presence altogether.

So I know it's really narrow to do a sideboard like this, but I'm going to tell you guys a story. You might have already heard of something like this, but I'm going to tell it anyways.

I watched a game earlier between a Living End deck and UR Storm. Storm player goes off before End player can cascade.

Game two is the part you guys want to hear. First few turns the End player cycles as per usual. Storm player takes turn and storms away until storm count is ready to kill, End player casts Violent Outburst. Storm player brushes it off, not thinking anything of it. End player Cascades into Grapeshot for the win.

I spoke with the End player after the round and he said that he literally boarded against storm because his good friend plays storm.

I don't know about you guys, but that is hilarious. And it's good sideboard tech if you play against a lot of storm. all you do is take out all your Living Ends and replace them with a couple grapeshots.

I'm probably going to get a lot of crap for this post but deal with it and don't hate on me.

that is a thing. quite hillarious!
only other 2cc card i can think of that impact the match up isEthersworn Canonist.

I've brewed Living Twin + Splinter Twin on TappedOut.net before just for giggles. I'll post a link later to my brew. Just a few notes:

    1) Deadshot Minotaur does not get along with Pestermite or Vendilion Clique. I'm actually testing Glassdust Hulk in place of Minotaur because of this.

    2) Vendilion Clique and Desolate Lighthouse are great for getting crap out of your hand. Clique reshuffles any drawn Living Ends and the Lighthouse can pitch Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker into the yard for value and silliness.

    3) Most counter spells at 3 mana have too prohibitive a cost, but Thoughtbind and Convolute aren't bad if you want to go that route.

the success I've had with the deck is mostly because simplier is better in this case.

cards like glassdust hulk to avoid deadshot minotaurs conflict with pestermite is unnecessary. the conflict hardly ever happens since pestermite is so few to begin with.

vendilion clique theres nothing left to cut for thim, and investing in blue mana blue mana make him a brick that isn't easily cast. most of the mana base is heavy red and red duals which makes the mana base red mana red mana friendly already. splashing one blue mana to enable exarch and pestermite is easy by contrast. too much blue and you might draw into mana that is off color and you won't have the colors for casting cascade cards.

In the hybrid you are the threat, you don't need counter spells. you demand your opponent counter spell/answer you! otherwise you win on turn 4. If they do answer you by counter spelling your stuff, you then follow up with living end to get everything they counter back and plus some. If i could find a way to pitch Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker I'd run more of him since he makes this synergy all the more powerful by being a creature. As it currently performs its decent, but it would get a serious upgrade to amazing if I had "a cheap discard out for him that did something, and fit our mana curve of 3."

That is unlikely to solve the issue though. When doling out seat as a proportion of the total vote for an area you are no longer directly voting for the person who represents you in congress/senate.

Instead you are granting the party that priviledge as they will have a ranked list of people from each state that they want in the House of Representatives/Senate and then depending on how many seats they get granted they just run down the top 8/2 names in your example and send those people to Washington.

This isn't so much of a problem if you are happy being represented by a party drone, who is willing to do whatever it takes to stay high enough up on the party list to guarantee that he stays in Washingtom, but not so good if you want to vote in the maverick who is willing to vote more on his own conscience rather than just following the party line.

In a two party system, it would not accomplish much by only having 1 or the other choice. If we had more parties available then the granting a seat based on an areas voted proportion wouldn't be so bad. when choice is so few its too easy for the two separate entities to be running a "defacto monopoly" on choice, even in this proportion system. they already accomplish that in the current system.

there is another systemic problem of local elections not having people running opposition against incumbents. I don't think this problem affects the House of representives elections as much, but all the same I'm not sure if Awarding seats based on proportion would solve that problem, or help to further it.

in the 2cc creature slot maybe spellskite would be the better way to go. sucks up bolts and spot removal.

only thing i'm liking meddling mage for is she shuts off preemtive match ups and cards you know you can't run into. Living end, blood moon, scapeshift, splinter twin etc. problem is half those single card threats are in shells that run bolt and other spot removal, that will get around mage.

spellskite works against valakut, the molten pinnacle, and distracts splinter twin for a about the same amount of time. while it doesn't work with steel, your kind of saving steel for Zur or Geist anyways, so no interaction with steel isn't a bad thing, the way I see it.

I built this as a lock down variant of the deck using a mono blue lists lock down suit of sea's claim, spreading seas, and annex. the basic premise of the mono blue deck was to ramp into omniscience but I find the lock down works just as well in scapeshift, in fact it works some what better cause your ending the game with a more efficient combo kill.

The big problem is that the "vote them out and vote in people who actually do something" doesn't really work because most of the worst offenders are effectively gerrymandered in more or less permanently. The people in their districts actually LIKE their obstructionist tactics, and the last time they had the chance, they reorganized districts so that was even more heavily the case. This means that the earliest things can even really *possibly* change is 2020, when the next census comes and areas can be redistricted again, which we wouldn't be able to see the effects of until 2021. But even that won't solve everything, because A) there's a decent chance the same people will still be in power then and can leave the districts as they are, and B) for many of the worst offenders, even insane re-gerrymandering can't get them kicked out.
The best I can hope for at this point is that the 2021 congress will skew heavily in my preferred direction to the point where they can bypass filibusters and etc, but I'm not even optimistic that that will happen. And six years is a long time for the current awful state of affairs to continue.

Part of me wants to see the districts removed from the voting system altogether, I think its an outdated system for setting up the congress as a "representational body" for the people of the country. let alone making up the voice of the people. we could be doing something better than districting.

The only purpose I see districts serving these days is giving the federal government a geographic boundary work with, for which it can give that specific geographic area or people with in specific things. "things" being legislation, assistance, etc. Districts also play a role in how the government distributes stuff nationwide, so its useful for those functions. Again, I think districts are bad for the voting process.

I went back through the premier, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sOfqmPhmHkA he points out that the 2007 list was good for Rock architypes. which is music to my ears with all of these "Azban" decks running around. I pulled up Muellers 07' list, I took a crack at making it into a modern list. below.
    Mueller's list http://www.tcdecks.net/deck.php?id=3856&iddeck=22538

I explain the card swaps below

    4 enduring ideal
    4 peer through depths
    3 serum vision
    1 gaze of granite
    3 supreme verdict

    3 form of the dragon
    2 dovescape
    4 leyline of sanctity
    1 honden of seeing winds
    1 Reverence

    4 serum powder
    4 lotus bloom
    4 pentad prism

    2 gemstone caverns
    4 city of brass
    4 hallowed fountain
    4 sacred foundry
    4 flooded strand
    4 plains

    card choices:

-peer through depths this one is best option available since we don't have burning wish. that said sideboard wants to capitalize on it, so sorcery or instant solutions to our problem match ups.

-gaze of granite we don't have pernicious deed Frown that said. we can use peer through depths to get to this answer, we can't cycle it with enduring ideal though, huge synergy loss, but I think it can get the job done as a main deck silver bullet.

-serum visions this takes orim's chants spot. true they don't compare in funtion, but I figure more dig is better than nothing. we don't have any turn 1 plays either. Only thing that would compensate for orim's chant is angel's grace that would make this slot essentially a fog. (up side of angel's grace, hive mind's pacts don't kill you!) theres just nothing to get double value that is orim's chant in modern. silence could go there too i suppose for fighting through counter magic.

-supreme verdict we don't have solitary confinement to hide behind so, smashing creatures in essential. upside of this choice is we can dig for it with peer through depths

-sensei's divining top obviously nothing in modern replaces this.

thats two enchantments moved to the sorcery slots

-leyline of sanctity kill burn, stops discard effects. Its no solitary confinement but better in the main than in the sideboard I think. especially since this version depends on form of the dragon.

-Meishin, the Mind Cage not in the current list, but in sideboard. against affinity and tokens, definitely stuff that into the deck games 2 and 3, so you have something to follow up sideboards pyroclasm effects.

-dovescape not sure if this should stay in the deck, opponents making 1/1 flyers bothers me. but the game should be over shortly after you land it to lock up the game any ways.
worse case scenario Archetype of Imagination next to form of the dragon, doomwake giant or Reverence. I think tokens with dovescape might have been managed by cycling pernicious deed with enduring ideal?

-Reverence stops dovescape tokens etc. (stops twin from attacking)

ramp, trying to copy as best i can

-serum powder its a mana ramp, since this version is aiming for combo I kind of think its worth keeping around. If I know i'm going against burn or graveyard decks, mulliganing to leylines can work. the deck runs lotus bloom, another good thing for this spot.

might replace powder with either of these
chromatic lanturn decent might go in this spot too at a later time
coalition relic can net gain 2 mana in 1 turn.

-lotus bloom finally something that is modern legal.

-pentad prism mana ramps for any color.

-gemstone caverns theres no lands in modern that sacrifice and make more than 1 mana, so this unique land might be as close as we can get to lands helping aid in ramp.

    Sidenote:
Mana Seism might compensate for lack of seething song

Ur-Golem's Eye this could be useful as well. the main reason for it would be to push the mana into 6 mana range. unlike other permanents that ramp it can't be hit by abrupt decay

The mana stress of Mardu charm is not to be underestimated.

I see the command as a possibility. I will let y'all know how testing goes.

getting 1 random white is always an issue, whether its that card or pale recluse. Murmuring Bosk might be a useful fetch. white black for finding a forest.

Phyrexian Unlife and Porphory Nodes is something I would also want in this type deck, however I don't see how you produce blue mana for Detention Sphere? If not, then it should just be replaced by O-Ring, which is a good card to always have around.

Safewright Quest seems bad in my eyes, but I haven't tried it out yet. The kind of mana ramp I played in my enchantment deck was Trace of Abundance, which firstly ramped, protected your land (where protection your Boseiju could become relevant at some point) and lastly it also works with Nykthos.

made a mistake, the sacred fountain was suppose to be hallowed fountain.

Serum powder is kind of a wierd card for ramp, but getting my leylines is key for my deck to ramp off shrine as its currently constructed.

In serums powder's place though, chromatic lanturn looked interesting, that way once I hit 7 mana I can hard cast form of the dragon, Meishin, the Mind Cage instead of solely relying on enduring ideal

Another deck made it 4-0 a couple of days ago and it some other card choices than normal. Check it out: http://mtgpulse.com/event/19501#274884

I have to question the Ensnaring Bridges..... the deck doesnt seemed designed to empty your hand quickly (most things are CMC 3+). Maybe Adding a few fetchs plus hallowed fountains and replacing the bridges with Verdicts might just be better?

I am really liking this deck, I think I might finish mine up and give it a try again.

my concern with bridge has been can't you empty your hand fast enough sometimes, what I'm noticing is peace of mind works great for getting ensnaring bridge set up to shut down all attacks. Problem with peace of mind is it could collide with suppression field. Mistveil Plains seems to solve problem of lost permanents well enough.

I'm on the fence when it comes to suppression field, i feel it really depends on the match up whether it has sufficient value or not. when i just tested against affinity, I think it would have been invaluable.

    ------------------

(I am getting those second thoughts, I might be half doing an enduring ideal build and half token build, but I've had some decent runs in testing.)

since testing I made these updates.

-having a bit of the struggle with fast aggro, I though Nyx-Fleece Ram might help me with this.
-I cut the blue, peer through depths was redundent[/c] I found myself drawing or mulliganing into enduring ideal just fine. boseiju pushes it through, I seem to pull theExpedition Map consistently enough for geting boseiju. (sideboard I'm running 3 defense grid for counter spell match ups
    - Porphyry Nodes plus tokens is bad, takes its effect away from hitting my opponent, moved it to the sideboard, If it comes in I take lingering souls out. sacred mesa's trigger can play around Node by stacking them so that it hits and opponents creature before you generate a token, which you can't do with tokens already made by lingering souls.
    - added story circle, nice extra anti aggro card.
    - added 1 auramancy as well.

    4 Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx
    2 Mistveil Plains
    1 Boseiju, Who Shelters All
    2 godless shrine
    11 plains

    4 serum powder
    4 Expedition Map
    4 enduring ideal

    3 Nyx-Fleece Ram

    4 lingering souls
    2 Sacred Mesa
    1 form of the dragon
1 Heliod, God of the Sun

    4 leyline of sanctity
    4 leyline of the meek
    4 ghostly prison
    2 Sphere of Safety
    1 phyrexian unlife
    1 oblivion ring
    1 peace of mind
    1 story circle
    1 Greater Auramancy

    dovescape

A judge at an event I was playing at said my epic copies of enduring ideal are countered by my dovescape? (not getting my enchantment cost me the game next turn)

from what i'm reading on the card and erratta doesn't epic ability put a copy of the spell directly on the stack and by passes "casting"?
my understanding is dovescape is looking for casting in order to have the trigger counter the spell?

i drew up this madness the other day

The idea to use Serum powder to get better mulligans. you want better mulligans cause the deck runs 8 leylines. maybe more depending on the sideboard. Serum powder can also be a mana ramp.

the reason for all of the leylines is to make shrine very powerful if you pull it early.

to capitalize on the leylines and all of the white mana shrine will generate I went with a creature token strategy. leyline of the meek will make 1/1s into 2/2s and so on. Your invested in lingering souls as your early attackers or blockers while your building up to enduring ideal. sacred mesa is in the deck along with Heliod, God of the Sun to make sure token making with out strip any opponent.

Need Help with/need suggestions for the following----

    - the last 3 slots at the bottom i'm not certain of what they definitely should be?
    - Also Do I have too much ramp?
    - do I have the wrong kind of ramp?
    - peer through depths seems like the best dig to find enduring ideal.

    4 Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx
    2 Mistveil Plains
    1 Boseiju, Who Shelters All
    2 godless shrine
    2 hallowed fountain
    9 plains

    4 serum powder
    3 Expedition Map
    3 Safewright Quest
    4 peer through depths
    4 enduring ideal

    4 lingering souls
    2 Sacred Mesa
    1 form of the dragon
1 Heliod, God of the Sun

    4 leyline of sanctity
    4 leyline of the meek
    4 ghostly prison
    1 Sphere of Safety
    1 phyrexian unlife
    1 Porphyry Nodes
    1 Detention Sphere

if eon hub is on the field and a pact of negation was used. because we are skipping upkeeps will the delayed trigger from pact of negation linger in the game until an upkeep can take place?

for example eon hub is out turn 5, pact is used on turn 6, eon hub is destroyed on turn 10, could the first upkeep that happens on turn 11 allow the delay trigger of pact to be checked?
