  • posted a message on revealing your hand to persuade your opponent to scoop
Revealing your hand can only help your opponent so it isn't bad sportsmanship. If your hand is that good though, you might not want to increase the chance of losing the game by showing it.

EDIT: Just think about it... would you want your opponent to do it every time he's sure he has you? I know I would, so it can't be a good idea.

    ITT: NERD RAGE!!!!!!1111

And too the poster just above, the dictionary explanes how words are pronounced. Their is a wrong weigh..... lol.

Its also funny how even in this thread their are folks who got my nerd rage goin. Four example, teh guy who used "there" when he should've used "their." And arguably, lol, should have used "his or her." (but that actually pisses me off)

    (|-|0p3 I didn't get any1 2 angry, 101)

EDIT: The topic is now changed to "how people can sometimes piss you off when they actually speak properly." I personally just want to hit people who say "whom" even when they're right, when they're wrong I just want to throw them through a window.... Also, just trying to be politically correct pisses me off. Like that "his or her" thing I mentioned earlier, if you feel the need to say that then there's a good chance I don't like you.

  • posted a message on Net-decking...is it "wrong"?
It's not wrong, it's just lame. There's 4 decks in standard that everyone picks off of the internet and the winner is determined 100% by luck. I have an idea - draft. You can't netdeck when you don't have the resources, just don't play any dumbass formats and you should be fine. If you do play constructed then you're sort of a tool to go against the absolute best decks that could be made over and over again with your homemade but not perfected one. Just throw your money away why don't you, lol....

I still do wonder why anyone bothers to play constructed because of this though. You either play to lose or you play someone else's deck that you will also have to face all the time... wow... have fun.

  • posted a message on Progenitus vs baneslayer
OP is saying if 1 attacks, then next turn the other attacks, etcetra until one player is dead, then the victor is determined by whoever attacked first. Probably to make the point that baneslayer angel is too cheap. But hasn't this already been discussed? And why should that be the only factor in determining their cost? It obviously isn't....

Troll? Or just upset that he had a Progenitus out as his only creature vs. someone's lone baneslayer and lost?

To answer the question though that wasn't asked correctly, NO white shouldn't have a 5/5 flier for 5 with only 2 white symbols and get first strike, lifelink, and protection from black and red fliers. Oh well though, it's not game breaking. (and no it shouldn't be mythic either unless they wanted to make it legendary)

HMM, WIZARDS, I WONDER WHAT WOULD BE A COOL PLANE TO RETURN TO. I WONDER WHAT PLANE PEOPLE LOVE MOST.

Anyway, joking aside, I call for a bigger sample.

I simply do not believe this. Kamigawa ahead of Alara, Mirrodin, Onslaught? I thought Kamigawa was generally accepted as the worst block of all time, let alone being anyone's favorite.

It's already been explained earlier. If there was a vote for worst block ever Kamigawa would probably take it. If this thread is tl;dr though: it's Kamigawa vs. every other block (sort of). All the votes for "every other block" are spread out over lots of options but there's only 1 kamigawa. It has niche appeal, see a few posts down. Note the anime avatar. Connect the dots.

Please I could only wish to know what you consider a great card is at this rate, so enlighten me on this synergy you're hinting at with regards to one of the worse cards ever to be printed on card stock? I mean if you think balance {you must not play in competitive formats, and that's not a bad thing} is bad........I must read what you can do with this junk....SYNERGY I'm all eyes!
    S.M.

    Giant Cockroach.

If you're being sarcastic, you're going way too far to accomplish it. Spam Warning.

EDIT: Come on, if you equip the GC with a sword and enchant it so that it flies....

Farmstead also works well with cards like avenger en-dal and compulsion.

Nothing compares to Farmstead, the mana cost, effect, rarity, all combine to make this a winner (loser).

    You're completely ignoring synergy.

You just said Balance {probably the most powerful card ever to be printed} is the worse card in the A/B/U sets.......please someone take over to highlight the power of Balance.
    I'm done;
    S.M.

Most powerful card every printed? Llama purebreed would like a word with you, he's proof that balance is not even the most powerful white card every printed. And it's the alpha/beta/unlimited block.

EDIT: LOL I meant dromad purebreed, but he is still certainly the baddest llama in the game.

EDIT: And back to the defense of farmstead, it has obvious and extremely powerful combo potential.

And I hope you enjoy your suspension for trolling the thread.

OMG are you guys ********? farmstead gets you 1 life, all you have to do is set yourself back 2 turns.... Balance is not only the worst white card of this color, it's easily the worst card in the A/B/U block! Why would you want to equalize anything when you're trying to win?!

EDIT: I like how cards of the first few core sets were either balls-to-the-wall awesome or help you less than a city of brass in a mono color deck.

EDIT: I didn't even realize that wasn't sarcastic... come to think of it I really would rather a city of brass in a mono white deck than any card mentioned so far.

  • posted a message on I read Prophecy while sick with influenza.
There's a book specifically for each set? Do you have to read them in order or can I just start with a good one? What's the best?

EDIT: Does it sort of ruin the cards? Especially if the books are going to suck, I have pretty high standards for books and wouldn't want to associate the game with crappy reading experiences. Sometimes I like knowing just enough, knowing every detail of "circu, dimir lobotomist" for example might kind of ruin it, you know? Does it? Are you supposed to read them or is it more just for cashing in?

  • posted a message on If you could pick one MTG creature as a familiar, what would it be?
Wait, so does familiar mean pet? If so, very naughty mr. elves of deep shadow you fetishist weirdo.

I'd have to say the spawn of the devil or whatever that card is called from unglued. It's the cute squirrel that costs 6bb or something like that. I had a squirrel for a pet once, kept him in a hamster cage for a month and he was better than any hamster/gerbil/guinea pig. He played with my mid-sized dog.

  • posted a message on How can people take constructed magic seriously?
lol of course there's a small skill factor in constructed. Doesn't change the fact that it's still 99% netdecks which makes luck of the draw and the particular matchup the main determinant of the winner. No use complaining about constructed though, just draft, the winner will almost ALWAYS be the best player and the worst player doesn't stand a chance.

    Slant

Hate to break it to you both but most people who've posted the fact that they voted for Lorwyn/Shadowmoor have either said, "I voted for Lorwyn because that's when I got into magic," or "I voted Shadowmoor, I don't like Lorwyn." I figured originally that it would get votes just for being recent, I also thought alara would get votes for the same reason. But now I think maybe people who'd vote for alara just b/c they started with it might not vote at all b/c it's probably the only block they played....

So this is why good commons end up $4 a piece eventually.... Frown

Throw them back in the opened boosters and keep them in the booster boxes.

Those cards' prices aren't going anywhere, just sell them. Even if polluted delta ever does reach 40, by then 40 will be worth as much as 30 now. Just sell them if you don't play any more. (it seems like you don't)
