They really seem to be pushing blink again, but splitting it up between so many cards makes me think the deck will be struggling to balance between blink effects and stuff to blink. That is, of course, assuming we get enough good ETB effects to make a deck out of.
I can see how this card could power out some ridiculous plays, especially with tokens and mana dorks, but I can't get excited over a card like this. Seems.... meh to me. The only decks I can think of that want to run this card need it out to drop their big cards, and if they don't get it.... well damn.
LOL. This is the standard response to EVERY NEW CARD.
This cards rocks, it totally has the ability to take over a game. eight mana ain't ****, there are any number of ways to ramp to get this card into play quickly, not to mention the various cheats.
There's not doubt about that. We have plenty of ways to ramp into it, the question is, "Is it worth ramping into?"
For that kind of mana, assuming you play it and equip it same turn, you can cast Avacyn or Griselbrand. And if you divide it between two turns there are any number of other options that can be played to a better effect.
There's no doubt that powering out an angel every turn is strong, but this isn't exactly the best way to do it.
As far as I know the only cards in standard that do that right now are Venser's Journal and Praetor's Counsel. So sadly there aren't any enchantments that do that.
Curse of the Nightly Hunt could be used to prevent your opponent from holding a critter back to keep it safe, but that's just using a bad card to make a decent-ish card more useful.
Believe it or not, the primary benefit of hexproof is protecting your dudes from the opponent. It doesn't suggest anywhere you have to pump or use equipment.
I know, it's just me complaining about something silly right now.
The only problem I have with the card is that it gives Hexproof, suggesting that you want to hit your creatures with pump spells or equipment. But, with them being illusions, you have to sacrifice them even if you are the one that targets them. Seems pretty silly to me.
I played with QftNS and when it worked you decimated their life. Very worth it in the early game. But if you don't draw it right off the bat or they play a lot of draw it's a dead card and a waste of space. And now that Blightning is out of the format.... Seems like the best time to play it has passed.
With Prototype Portal, you can waste as many turns of theirs as you want, all while building up mana and drawing cards. Hell, you could screw around until you had enough mana to cast Emrakul as your finisher.
This is true, but it still requires you to get to 10 mana. While that's far from impossible, you'd still need to devote pretty much your entire deck to getting that combo down. Once you do it's pretty much GG.
The problem with Mindslaver is that it doesn't always guarentee you a win and that ten mana might just go towards wasting a card or two of theirs or simply tapping them out for a turn. That could lead to a win, but it could also just lead to you having wasted a turn of theirs and they get right back on their feet after.

I am however only human, so I could be very wrong.
If so he seems pretty good as a beater for any deck that isn't trying to throw down threats every turn.

Unfortunatley, the Lunge is limited by the mana costs of creatures in your graveyard, but Corrosive Gale requires no target.

I hear the Golem plays really well with Tempered Steel. 15 power for 5 mana is pretty good.
