    And Piledriver's ability?

And Aether Vial for a turn. There are enough things you can probably find in your meta. Always an option to sub out for SB stuff.

So I built the pox deck, and it is very fun, the problem is that it can't win anything.

What do you SB against monoU fish?

Against dredge do you SB leylines or tormods crypt? Or ravenous trap? Or extirpate?

Thanks. hopefully the deck can be more successful now

If you run a deck that can hardcast Leyline, it's your GY card of choice.

Seems mighty suspect. If I needed additional evasion and people around me didn't play enough Islands I'd probably consider island-makers instead. Also you're putting more U symbols in your deck, which probably has 7-8 colorless land. Let us know how it works out, though!

EDIT: That last sentence wasn't supposed to be snarky. While I'm not too confident in that change, it'd be awesome if you did some playtesting and told us how it went.

I have not tried Wake Thrasher out yet, but I do not think I have ever been able to hardcast Sovereign. I can never keep two Islands out where I did not want to tap one for Stifle, Mutavault, or something else. Bouncing those Islands often keeps me with less out than I'd like, too. Thrasher might help me out...I could also just run three Mutavaults, too....

Say you face the mirror. Can you Swerve a Cruel onto YOUR opponent, the one who cast it?

I'm running 4 Annul in the board. I doubt anyone will be playing Kataki. I also have some blue elemental blasts for shatterstorm just in case.

    No one runs Shatterstorm.

For an unknown meta, is it better to split Fallout and Flamebreak or just pick one and go with it?

Why Trickbind over Stifle? A main purpose is killing fetches early on, and you can't wait two turns for that. Is Stifle MD?

I split GY hate between Ravenous Trap and Crypt because you know they pack Pithing Needle.

Since my friend runs Staxxx, I use Hurkyl's Recall. Should work against Ravager, too.

Just wondering...does anyone have extensive experience using Flame Rift? I love the power; I just want to know if anyone's had issues with how much life it takes off you.

I would never play windborn muse in a white stax list without at least 4 copies ghostly prison. It seems the muse is bad with StP in the format and that gobbos can't gempalm incinerator your enchantments.

My buddy plays this deck (Staxxx) like crazy, so I can give a bit of insight about GP. It crushes me as a Merfolk Fish guy. I have to choose whether to counter/bounce the GP or another lock piece. I run Echoing Truth MD (over Wake Thrasher) just because I know him to play GP as soon as possible....and often two of them. It totally shuts down our Goblin friend and hurts Eva Green a bit, too. They only have so many Grips.

hi all, i'm not too experianced with merfs (i played slivers and eva green for the longest time), but think i may try it based on my meta.

i have the usual mono blue build, but in the 2 semi-open slots i had shakels instead of wipeaway.

i'm wondering what would be best in those slots. either...

2x shakels, 2x wipe away, or 2x back to basics?

my meta has a team america, canadian thresh, ugb countertop, ugw countertop, ravager, ichorid, and a naya zoo deck (thankfuly not piloted by the best of players).

i'm also wondering what an optimal board would be for this meta?

    any takers?

I always take Echoing Truth as my bounce card of choice because of the cheaper cost and chance to 2-for-1. Countertop will also activate with Wipe Away anyway.
However, that meta doesn't seem like it'll have TOO much identical stuff to bounce, and CT has a harder time finding a 3cc spell.

Propaganda really doesn't help too much against Zoo?

If that's what you have, then by all means run them. As 4-for-3s go, Flames of the Blood Hand and Pulse of the Forge have more tricks to them; as mono-red you don't really need the option to pay colorless, which is Jav's strength. (Well, ok you can also kill a Rhox War Monk or Thoctar.)

Many decks get by without running 4-for-3s, so you may want to look elsewhere first, e.g. Incinerate.

Flame Jav does get by Counterbalance, though. Or it should.

Anyone split GY hate between Crypt and Ravenous Trap? You know all those guys will run Pithing Needle in their board to combat the Crypt, so....the Trap just seems like a pretty useful item.

Is Everlasting Torment better than Anarchy? Obviously not strictly better, but really I just would have either to deal with CoP:Red and Sphere of Law.
