Also, just so you know, if your opponent plays Iona, and you want to kill her with a doom blade, you have precisely one chance to do so.......in response to her coming into play.
This is because when she is in play, her opponent names a color, in response to that going on stack you can play doom blade. That will resolve before the comes into play ability will.
The key is that even though you are *not* casting the spell as normal, it is being played with cascade. However, kickers are an "extra" cost, so they can be paid while cascading, while flipping a spell such as a fireball will result in a 0 point fireball since 0 is a legal cost.
Some suggestions to help get mana faster (clearly needed with 8 big fatties) would be lotus cobra, harrow, and uhm, what is it called, grim discovery (protip: use on your verdant catcombs).
And yes, when new cards come out, they have at the time they are printed, the most recent rulings and grammar of cards printed. The ruling changes that came out with m2010 will be reflected in Zendikar, with Zendikar introducing some new mechanics as well.
Yes they do. They just don't stay there of course.
110.5e A token that’s phased out, or that’s in a zone other than the battlefield, ceases to exist. This is a state-based action; see rule 704. (Note that if a token changes zones, applicable triggered abilities will trigger before the token ceases to exist.)
This stupid card is so broken. So is that landfall enchantment green has. They need to be modified to say "BASIC LAND" and not any land.
(that green enchantment needs to be raised to 4 counters as well)
And while I'm on the subject, the white quest enchantment needs to be modified to be sacrificed when it is used, like every other quest is.
I know exactly what you're saying. I recently jumped back into magic after a LONG hiatus. Come to find out, my roommate used to play as well.
To make a long story short, this game really seems to draw people who just are not fun to play games with. Drafts are fun most of the times, as long as people are not cheating. I've observed too many examples of that recently.
I shouldn't be surprised really, considering experiences with people online in video games.
Yes. A creature gaining shroud, does not remove auras that are already on the creature.
(It does make it extremely difficult to kill though!)
And Carsten, thanks for the reply. I'll have to look up the actual ruling that pertains to the ability to put enchantments on creatures with shroud in certain situations, because everyone I play with would likely be saying "nuh-uh!"

There are other examples, but you have 'em!

I was obviously confusing bloodchief ascension with quest for the gravelord.

Short version: Tokens trigger graveyard effects.

I think this thing is garbage. Pure garbage. It would be awesome around 10 years ago, when there were not so much removal floating around.
*WHITE* has more removal single target removal now than even black did, 10 years ago.
(ie: confusing to play with, or against)
SCG baneslayer angel NM = $35
Cardshark.com NM = $25

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND during your upkeep I'll cast silence.
