When will be all forced to switch to the new client?
What happened to the regular OOP drafts?
Any word on the next Masters Edition or when they will do drafts of the current ones? FOW is mighty expensive
There should be a sticker identifying the company that re-packaged and distributed these. Call them and say that you got land, not a deck, when the box clearly states that it has 4 decks in it. I did this with one of the ones that had 2 decks in it a year or so ago. I got one deck and a land pack, called and as soon as I said that they asked for my address. A deck showed up in my mailbox a few days later... not a good deck, but better than a land pack. They didn't ask for any confirmation.
Only stickers are the "Value packs $29.99" and the UPC. Don't suppose you still have the contact info you used, must be the same distributor.
Checked the target by my house and found one that had a pack that I thought was a commander deck... was larger then the rest of them but was faced in so you couldn't see what it was. Opened it up and was all M12 lands. Buyer beware I guess. Also came with an nph infect deck, way of the warrior and another deck that I can't remember. Where are people finding the Divine and demonic decks? Could use another demonic tutor.
I'm kind of confused with your combos involving Ashnod's Altar. Ashnod's Altar reads "Sacrifice a creature: Add {2} to your mana pool."
- Nim Deathmantle + Wurmcoil Engine + Ashnod's Altar = Infinite Mana + Infinite creatures
Pay and sacrifice the Wurmcoil Engine to Ashnod's Altar generating you mana and two Wurmcoil Engine tokens. Activate Nim Deathmantle to recur the Wurmcoil Engine. Now sacrifice the Wurmcoil Engine and a Wurmcoil Engine Token and repeat this infinite times. You can create infinite colorless mana and infinite Wurmcoil Engine Tokens. -> Add Bitter Ordeal to the combo to exile all cards in each players library.
- Nim Deathmantle + Massacre Wurm + Ashnod's Altar = Board wipe with damage
Pay and sacrifice the Massacre Wurm to Ashnod's Altar generating you mana and each opponent's creatures get -2/-2. This combo can take out indestructible creatures as well as making each opponent lose 2 life per creature destroyed. With loads of mana you can destroy any creature that comes into play.
In 2HG, if any player plays a Serra Ascendant (even my partner), I will block that person, and quit immediately. That card is banned or restricted in any 2HG event I run.
If my opponent is being excessively rude or obnoxious, I will also block & quit.
The only other times I would quit is if company comes over, or if I get a phone call from my wife. And I tell my opponent(s) why I'm leaving.
I'm just curious do you tell people why your quitting when they play an Ascendant? I've had people get pissed at me when I play it in my cmdr deck but if someone has a cmdr deck that isn't capable of dealing with a 6/6 flyer then they need some work. 2HG may be different, I don't have enough experience in that area to really say.
I was thinking about this earlier. With the release of the new Commander sets I think it would be cool if they offer sanctioned events with the decks as the prizes sort of how the Premium Fire Deck was distributed. Just picture in the 8 Player Constructed Room there was a 4 player Commander game with an entry fee of 4 tickets and the prize was one the 4 decks random. Or maybe a 1 on 1 game for 10 tickets with a random deck as a prize. Would beat paying $30 per deck in the store.
If you're going for a turn 4 kill then why play Ringleader? I would think Koth would be better in that spot.
Ringleader has been switched out for Contested War Zone. I'm considering running some Mox Opal in there somewhere as well for metalcraft enabler for Bolt.
Might not be worth it considering you need the slots, but what if you used 6-8 slots to trade for some speed on the ground? Some kind of hybridized strategy.
My apologies I thought Big Red was a RDW variant not realizing it was a Koth only deck. I posted the deck in the Decks for critique deck section however I thought it would be better here as a potential direction RDW could go.
