I feel like this drawback is a bit too much. There are also many cards make the downside really bad (faith fetters, temporal isolation, fire//ice, pestermite, tamiyo, tappers, ecetera). If you curve into him I think he is pretty good, but otherwise I dunno. We will have to see though.
I had Black Vise
One of my drafters, arguably the best player in our group, with a 1900 rating on MTGO and who usually wins 3 or 4 of the 4 prerelease events at his LGS per prerelease weekend, noted that The Rack in its place would have dealt quite a bit more damage, and would have dealt damage every single time it was drawn, except in the control matchup.
What was the point in telling us his ratings and win rates? Will that convince me more of an opinion I dont agree with. You could of just said "A player that I respect" or something of the like. Should I post my mtgo rating before every arguement I make for now on in my life?
^Not the kind of input he was looking for, dont be a jerk.
You might want to explore the thought of errating some old cards with smaller bodies to mana cost ratio if this is to work. Otherwise good luck.
I agree that their are a couple of head dogs on this forum that sway the opinions of other on here. But keeping card quality in your packs high is a basic fundamental of cubing. But its a cube, when it comes down to it you can do whatever you want. Also you should calm down a bit
I know this first hand. When I first built my cube (which I no longer have) I had 8 cards per guild (and this was before people put lands in their guilds) and I definetly saw the effects of it (I also had one from each shard + Cruel ultimatum). Sometimes I would even open a pack and see like 5 Gold cards of lower power levels (Goblin Trenches,Oona, Queen of the Fae,ect) and they would all be there again when the pack came around. So I went down to 4 or 5 and it made the drafting process so much smoother.
As cool as charms are I definetly think some should be left at the wayside.
Glad to see that I'm in the company of such an upstanding individual who would just theow out the "just quit" line faster than this generation's educational distributers.
Maybe you didn't understand that I actually want this game to thrive, but not at the expense of becoming Yu-Gi-Oh! 2.0, In which this game will lose all real individuality, and will only be looked at as a "It prints money", as well as something that will just fall to the wayside as that one long-term fad we all had 30 to 45 years ago, but we can just barely remember what it was. (But at least it cant be called xenophobic, and that's at least one positive to come out of it all )
That being said maybe you should take this to PM or somewhere else and not in the "boros charm" spoiler thread.
Anyways I think the charm is pretty solid, we will just have to see where it will fit in the best. Its a shame that it doesnt really have an ability that fits in the UWR control deck.
I originally thought this thing was a 1/3 and thought it wasnt good enough for cube. Being an 0/3 seems like a waste of the flash (taking down X/2's). The only thing I like about(over gelectrode) it is that its an instant, because I hate tapping out for gelectrode sometime when I play counterburn.
What kind of deck is this card good against is my question? Aggro doesn't really care and control can easily deal with it (without the card producing any card advantage unless it attacked). And how bad is this with Geralf's messenger and Gravecrawler running about.

The fact it in fact not the same makes her better. If she targeted she would be so much worse.

Its also one of the most fun cards in cube.
You still run decay. It just hits so much.
