Apologies if this has already been put up here.

This came up on my LGS facebook: http://epicstream.com/news/Magic-The-Gathering--Eternal-Masters-Mythics-and-Rares-Leaked If true this looks pretty sweet but im not sure why Doubling Season is involved. I realise that it is a casual/ EDH all star and is about $20 at the moment but I cant think of any eternal decklists that it fits into.

I have to agree with the comments following that list! Most of the mythics are blue and Wizards would certainly even the color pallet with the rare/mythic distribution. Nice idea though!

I Cracked a foil Russian Thought-Knot Seer. What do you think the going rate on that would be seeing as English are $30? Does it follow the rule of 3x more?

This land is fake! There is no way Wizards is going to replace colorless mana production with the <> symbol. If so, the new Kozilek would've been been differently costed to reflect it. His casting cost would become, <><><><><><><><><><> instead of 8<><>. Or at least 9<>.

Hopefully people start selling off their legacy stuff so the prices fall and I can scoop it up for cheap.

Wont happen, many people will hold on to them as they will still have value in other formats such as commander or incase they want to keep their decks.

I can't help but feel like wizards keeps trying to bury their past in the sands of time and hope we don't remember the past. I mean many of the original articles from the old website weren't brought over and with the introduction of magic duels, I can't help but feel a bleak expectation for the future. Magic Online is buggy and I don't see much desire from Wizards to change that. Let alone a desire to catalog everything that has happened in Mtgverse as a giant compendium. I trust mtgsalvation more than I trust wizards own website these days because at least salvation record everything down.

I mean first they begin to ignore/retcon past storyline events.
Then they add things like angels to planes that don't have them.
They no longer have stories revolving around non-PW characters.

Magic has changed so much I don't really recognise it as the same game. Which is quite sad as it was once a game where people traded cards like moxes for a Shivan Dragon. Now standard competitive decks cost about the same as a modern deck. It can be quite daunting for a child/parent in terms of cost.

I think wizards is trying to erase the past. They don't want the new players coming in to know about the old cards that used to exist. They have changed the direction of the game completely. Personally I play legacy and to a lesser extent modern. I would never touch standard again. The newbies don't know how much more fun the game was once. They even tried to cut modern down, but the massive outcry made them somewhat reverse their decision. Basically they just want people to keep burning money on limited and standard and not think about anything else.

but... This is SCG, not WotC.

Well, there's notthing SCG can do about the declining number of players who can afford Legacy if WotC refuses to reprint dual lands, LED, etc.
The resserved list killed Legacy, not SCG. I will be the first to say I hate their shady business ways, but at least they kept the best format alive as long as they could.

The Reserved list was looked at a few years back and Wizards attempted to get rid of it, but there was such an outcry from the vintage and collectible crowd that it was axed pretty quickly. They were attempting to reprint Reserved List cards in premium format and the crying was so bad they upheld the List and dropped the idea. Players want the Reserved List gone, but MTGFinance is a very strong and vocal group that will do what it can to hold on to their investment.

SCG has it on their buylist for $100. Worst case you get $100 from a legit store.

I'd be willing to bet that the 5 unknown lands could be something like:

    Blinkmoth Nexus
    Inkmoth Nexus
    Mutavault
    Mishra's Factory
    Cavern of Souls

Or the five Urza's Legacy manlands. THen that would leave the 10 Zendikar manlands and the 5 new dual lands.

This exchange of ridiculous banter back and forth is the reason we have 15 pages of nothing to read through on a basic statement about the lands in BFZ.

I think it's kind of cool that there will be full art basics....thought I wasn't surprised by that statement. I am also curious about the NEW cycle he mentioned cryptically in his post.

I went Silumgar and pulled a foil Dragonlord, Sarkan (which I didn't use) Thunderbreak Regent and Shockmaw Dragon with 2x Dragon Tutors and a Crux of Fate. I went 5-1 playing B/R splashing blue for the dragonlord. I have to say that the real star for me was Corpseweft! Being able to instant out a 4/4 or 8/8....heck even a 2/2 to block was so timely. I'm not sure it's going to pan out in constructed, but in limited it's a bomb. Our TO has to bolster his prize pool with Fate boosters along with the Dragons prizes and I pulled a foil Tasigur, an Ugin and a Narset in my prize packs!

I had fun...but I went in knowing that I wasn't going to be able to play 3 colors....and was shocked that splashing blue worked out for me with any mana fixers.

    Dragon.DEC was a blast
