I was really tempted to throw in the Tezz but couldn't feel that I could support him in an infect shell. I considered an artifact heavy b/u build but couldn't justify it over the fast low curve poison deck that I could build.
Anyone think they would have built differently or see anything that could be different?
I had 2 in my sealed pool and played them both. However I was lacking infect creatures. I barely opened any infect cards in my SOM packs. I was also running a vector asp. With besieged in the set, its important to get that first infect point on your opponent and this card helps with that. Throughout my entire 5-2 run, these 2 guys probably put 10 infect points on my opponent.
I'd have to say that it largely depends on what deck you're making. They were good in my deck, but I can see them not being good in some decks. My deck was consistent, had a number of multiples and lacked bombs, so I needed to put counters on as early as possible. I had 3 Spread the Sickness and 2 Trigon of Corruption, so just chumping with one was pretty good as it put a counter on that i could proliferate with or just make my trigon kill something faster.
Credit goes to whoever posted a similar list before. Decklist is very similar, I think only sideboard changes actually, to what someone else posted, and I used that post to build the deck. Couldn't find the post when I searched for it again.
Haven't had much chance to play/test it yet. But I've liked it so far. Played and won against some random stuff in tournament practice room. Took it to a 2 man queue, won against eldrazi ramp.
Took it to an 8 man. Played against 3 U/R Titan/Destructive Force decks. Won the first 2 by killing them quickly with quests.
Lost the third match. He pretty much always had removals and counters. It was pretty close in 2 of the games, and was even able to win 1. Never saw any quests. I've altered my sideboard after that tournament to what i put in my deck list.
Anyone know any good sideboard cards for U/R? I really hope its not becoming a popular deck. Maybe I just got unlucky facing it all 3 rounds of the tournament.
Any other sideboard tips that anyone might have? Just came back to magic after about 4 months, so I don't really know much about the top decks.
If someone played a meddling mage against you, what would be the best card to name?
Also how effective do you think meddling mage would be against this deck?
What counter spells would you recommend? I currently run 4 Unified Wills main, 4 flashfreeze and 4 negates in the side. None are particularly useful against Mythic. Double blue is also out of the question.
Edit: What do you guys think about meddling mage? They don't have any answers to it. Name the sovereign, baneslayer or KotR.
You can use a basic land, not the basic land. It says so on the double faced rules article.
