currently our modern tournaments are about 10-12 people and everyone is just playing what they want. The decks are good, but nothing like 12-post is being played. I'm having a blast with this format, even with "unfair" combo decks, its still better than current standard and what extended was.
I find this somewhat unlikely. Even in their first printing, the M1X duals never went for much, and no one really cares particularly hard about the Scars duals either. The fact that they're enemy colored in a format that has 0 other allied fixing makes them marginally more attractive, but I doubt we'll see these going for more than $5-8.
During their M10 printing, duals went for around 10 a piece, i expect the same for these at least for a little while
for some reason Nephalia reminds me of the Coastal town in Call of Cthulhu. I hope the town has the Skirsdag cult attempting to summon Cthulhu or Dagon type creatures
I hope that wizards doesn't literally have cards named after classic horror. Dracula and Van Helsing are fun, but I think just taking inspiration from motifs and characters rather than directly porting them allows for a lot more creativity on wizards part. That and they would only be able to use a few of the characters that are in the public domain. On the other hand, if they do directly named characters that probably means a lot more EDH generals!
I agree, i wouldn't want a directly named Van Helsing. But I'd love to see a monster hunter legend in the set.
There are a few reasons i've chosen to stay out of FNM's until rotation. This is now one of them. Seriously wizards, why? It was funny with Rhox war monk, not this time.
Some of these bannings need to be reversed asap. MM and vision aren't format warping or defining at all if Goyf isn't banned on the sole purpose that it's "only a good card" then these shouldn't be touched.
It's an absolute house with a card like Timely Reinforcements in caw-blade. So in that sense, i believe it was a mistake.
As a whole the balancing aspects of it seems to make it ok.
I loved watch the throne. It wasn't as good as My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, but it was definitely something unique. Enjoyed it cover to cover

Also the necronomicon.
