Oct 19, 2009legacy dude 345 posted a message on Gatekeeper of Malakir plus Into the Roil: Complete Jank?if u really want to play u/b or an esper build a think time sieve would be succesful in this format. not because it is an incredibly good deck, having suffered the loss of lorwyns rotation, but in a format were no one runs sideboard hate in standard, its clear for u to go and win. But, in my opinion, if u like it go ahead get into extended, because standard does not atter for another six months, because its sealed ptq season and then extended ptq season, and then possibly a zendikar block ptq season, before they get back around to standard. good luck thoughwith whatever u decide t try.Posted in: SoFresh Blog

Oct 17, 2009legacy dude 345 posted a message on officially hate Boros BushwackerI also dislike the boros buhwacker deck. I totally agree its situational, wher, if you get a turn one step lynx then turn two pop te fetch play a bushwacker and swing for 7 then thats when its good. Otherwise, its not so good, and late game it just does not have big enough creatures to majorly impact a game. Maybe baneslayer angel in the maindeck would make it a better deck, but it definetly has potential.Posted in: SoFresh Blog

Oct 17, 2009legacy dude 345 posted a message on Great Sable Stag in Jund.Stable stag may be good in jund, just because jund is the mot played deck in the standard format, and by maindecking it, you get to have a better game one against jund, because they have to use their lightning bolt to take care of it. So, overall its a pretty good card still especially considering vampires being popular. And against the cruel control decks, it can also be pretty good. I think its a pretty good idea.Posted in: SoFresh Blog

Oct 3, 2009legacy dude 345 posted a message on Jund Ramp. The BasisThat is not a very good ramp list considering you run heavy removal while running low cast drop like cobra. You should not be running sub par creatures like magam phoenix, and baneslayer angel stomps your face all day. Lavaball trap is honestly sib par. harrow is not even sub par its more like somewhere from casual to noobish. If your wanting to play a tier one deck you should be playing four color ocntrol. Lotus Cobra stomps you also, and your playing a reddeck without either volcanic fallout or lightning boltPosted in: Epitz Blog

Sep 29, 2009legacy dude 345 posted a message on 3 cards that should never have been printedIterstingly enough, if you look at ptq results, look at the top decks five colour control, blue white BANESLAYER, white blue reveillark, five color cascade, five color colfenors plans, all off those decks between main and board ran at least 2-4 baneslayers. Also, the tarmogyf thing, there was an official comment stating that tarmogyf waas unintentionally overpowered and another card of that magnitude would not be printed again, for the shear fact that that card was much like baneslayer in the fact that it was almost a near playseet in every standard deck, and now 80% of the legacy and extended decks. Your right that wizards cannot intentionally promise not to make a card this powerful, but a card being unintetionally power like tarmogyf happened with baneslayer ,and making it a myhic rare only worsens the situation.Posted in: legacy dude 345 Blog

Sep 9, 2009legacy dude 345 posted a message on Vampires a viable tribe?Vampires in standard may be viable but vampires in legacy arent strong enoiugh. If u want to go strong with any tribe in legacy its goblins especially now with th new zendikar gobs. But, already you see vampires is significantly stronger in standard as a tribe then pretty much everything else once lorwyn rotates out. You have vampire nocturnus as your lord who for a mana more is a pretty good lord and you also have the new one mana two two vampires and a lot of removal. Plus as far as mono black go u would have both liliana and the new planeswalker who takes turns. I think mono black control may be viable, after lorwyn rotates, but still i think red white control will be the most insane deck in standardPosted in: KeeperoftheLibrary Blog

Sep 7, 2009legacy dude 345 posted a message on why wizards, why, zendikari play al ot of magic, especially legacy and extended. I love the fetch lands in legacy, but brknging them back to extended, and standard means that the multi color format everyone thought was over is still going strong, plus the new landfall abilitlity with fetches is ridiculous. and people will open boxes no matter what is in the set do to the fact thatr thats how magic playersPosted in: legacy dude 345 Blog

Sep 5, 2009legacy dude 345 posted a message on 9-04-2009 FNM Reportjust a question but why would u play quick and toast which was ablock deck over five colour control, which at this poit is overall the most dominant deck i the type two format. All the decks you played agianst you should have beat do due to the fact of the amount of removal which 5 colour has aginast any thing aggro. Your bad match ups should only be aggro control decks like merfolk fae and blue white lark and baneslayerPosted in: Raikou Rider Blog

Aug 25, 2009legacy dude 345 posted a message on Warp WorldIf u really want to play acombo deck u probally should not be playing warp world. there are two very good tier one combo decks in this format. the first one is time sieve combo and the other is time warp. Time warp combo is a blue green deck that is just breasking into the format right now. Mostly Jund 60% or greater
You are definetly gonna want to have some sideboard or mainboard plan for jund, because it is the best deck at this point, and you will see a lot of it.
Boros Bushwacker-15%(somewhere around there)
Between bushwacker and jund you already have over half the decks there probably. For bushwacker, your gonna want to have both spot, and early amounts of mass removal
Random Control-5%
There are gonna be lots of the random control decks floating around. For the most part they will be cruel control or izzet control.
Five Colour Cascade-5%
Another very popular archtype, you will definetly have sme people playing cascade, and it can randomly win out of now where due to the randomness of cascade.
Red Deck Wins-5%
Another big deck. It comes out fast and wins fast. For this matchup you will need lots of exile effects, and spot removal.
Naya-5%
Naya is powerful, and has many different approaches. It runs big creatures, and big threats. Cards like deathmark and maelstrom pulse post board are a big advantage.
Mono White Control-5%
Lots of people are playing mono white control, because it is a fairly straightfiward deck that is easy to build and easy to play, and is well suited for the current meta.
Other notable decks:
-Nissa Elves-this week, this deck has kind of surfaced, a more modern version of elf combo it generates lots of creatures, and then plays overrun.
-Luminarch or Planeswalker Control
Lot of people are playing these decks, they are a little clunky, but will still be played
-Rock
Good deck, you essentially just through the most powerful creatures in the format into a deck, and then turn cards sideways
Hope this helps, let me know how people do.
