I just registered as a WPN organizer to gain some prize support for the kids at the community center I volunteer at. So, I was wondering from other WPN organizers of what to expect? I have a few questions as well:
How does wizards expect you run it?
How often are events expected to be run?
Do I have to request each individual kit?
What are in these kits?
When does the kit arrive after registering?
Do I have to use DCI numbers and reporter for the people involved?
Thanks for answering my questions
Since your not affliated with a store, you can only get the Event support kit, which has promos, but sadly those only change once a year (Every core set)
as for the rest of your questions everything has been answered over at WotC's forums: Tournament Organizer FAQ
here, theres jsut one monoblue player,a WUG and then i have no clue what the other player uses beyond green...so only the U player owuld be locked down, the rest owuld have answers..the monoblue doesn't have any answers that are colorless ( why i don't know) and he rarely plays multiplayer anyway...
I think its fine. There are still colorless answers to her - and its not like you are getting her out incredibly fast in mono-W. If you don't want to be a dick - just don't call the mono-players colors, choose something else ;p
so,i'm thinking of running Iona, Shield of Emeria in a deck but i'm not sure if it would be considered a total dick move or not, only one person runs a monocolored deck and he rearely plays multiplayer. So whats the take on running Iona in general?
Nope, there is just a few "yes i have read this" confirmations, and even though everybody (including me) never reads stuff before pressing accept - do yourself a favor and read this, its not just the usual gazillion page user agreement.
Not even that, it's now fill in your venue's info followed by filling in your info and then saying yes to the TO agreement followed by answering a question if you got reccomended to become a TO
It's very grueling; you have to answer a 5 question test, the answers to which are all "Yes" [at least if you answer honestly, and are ready to be a TO]. It's very easy to become a TO
Why wouldn't you be able to get these? Just ask your local TO how they plan on handing them out.
We use a point system that rewards you for playing in the store, then you can trade in your points for different promos. Some store just hand them out to whoever asks, some hand them out at events or use them as prizes.
Also, a lot of online stores have these things and because of their wide availability they don't tend to to be too expensive.
WPN requires a psychical location IE b&m along with photographs of the place that is being used for WPN purposes, after looking up some info I think our biggest issue will be securing a location and perhaps start up funds, but I think I may even have something on that; more research is needed along with phone calls.
