I was watching someone playing online and he activated the ability of cursed scroll naming ice from the Split card fire//ice and it dealt no damage. Any specific reason why, or is it a bug?
While I agree with you, that and "dies to removal," should never be valid points. But in this meta, they are. Wizards did not set the bar for cards with the titans. No, they warped the meta to such a degree, where they are the ONLY 6 drops that see major play. Why? CA. Bouncing it is a bad idea, and killing it still leaves you up cards. Wormcoil engine only does this as it dies. And in a format where approx 37% of the meta runs Jace? He frequently does, yes, just sit in your hand and never swing against control.
I have to agree with this 100%, Every time I played against a wurmcoil engine i've either bounced it, or it just sat there and couldn't afford to swing.
SBA are not checked during the resolution of spells/abilities. So whilst Maro will breifly be a 0/0 during the resolution wheel of fortune when SBA are checked you will have cards in hand and MAro will live.
I've destroyed this deck with my vampire deck every time i've played it, and honestly, anything running/boarding sad sac is bad news for you guys (target 3 tez) and your deck is dead.
Plus, with inquisition in the deck... vamps is a tough match up for this deck.
Last friday it went
G1 double gatekeeper 1 - 0
G2 turn 1 inquisition (time warp)
turn 3 sad sac (3x tez) opponent scooped 2-0
A deck is a deck but, @Arew, it does feel like a dirty deck (as most combo decks do)... a little cheap but hey, if you enjoy it... more power to the players.
First off, you can't grab a time warp in an inquisition, and secondly. You're playing vampires with sad sac. I'm already probably never gonna see you at a PTQ.
Hello I've just recently joined the club of ten turn combo-ing then Tezzerating the hell out of someone. I must say it is amusing as hell! Couple quick questions.... Is Jace B or Jace MS better main deck? I understand the immediate card advantage you get form jace B however he has no way of defending himself. Jace MS not only protects himself but generates quality card advantage.... In what context is silence properly played? Is it an early game slowdown for an opponent, or a protect your crucial combo off turn? I'm still getting used to this deck and it's shennanigans. Would someone direct me to somewhere I can see it properly played? How do you guys feel about Perimeter captains in the SB as a means of deterring aggro?
Jace Beleren is a lot better for this deck. You want to draw cards. Jace MS doesn't provide a win condition while giving you card advantage. Plus, jace Beleren fits the curve nicely.
I use Silence as a means for buying more turns against aggro/jund decks. Against control Silence becomes more a combo protector.
Okay thanks, But it doesn't give you an option to do that on Mtgo. He named fire and it worked, so it was weird.
