So, we got a look into Kiora this week!
And the implication is that she might know Talrund.
In other news though, we got a look into how a merfolk views the eternities and I am happy to see that there's a different perspective being presented. I've tried to write something similar in the past, and it really makes you stop and consider how much we take our perspective for granted. Anyways...
One major question that jumps up is what is WITH Zendikar that it creates such... bigoted people?
Well, when your world is constantly trying to kill you, I guess it's easy to feel superior to people who live on nice, tame worlds.
This is a limited powerhouse, and it will define draft archetypes.
GW is already defined as the Heroic deck that has dudes with lots of +1/+1 counters on them.
All of the multicolor uncommons we've seen so far just reinforce the already-existing draft decks from triple Theros: the blue-white one is an aura that grants counters to help WU Heroic, the RG one is large to help RG Beats, the GW one triggers Heroic and adds counters, and the UG one is tricksy and lets you play Nessian Asp and Voyage's End in the same deck.
EDIT: Oh yeah, the BR one is a Minotaur with a tribal bonus to help tribal BR Minotaurs.
Oh man, Wizards. And here I was so proud of you for making an Esper-colored general that wasn't randomly an artifact or that cared about artifacts. You were so close. Oh well.
That blue spirit is lolgasmically bad. I hope it's not part of a cycle.
Ashiok is about as fleshed-out and integrated into Theros as Tamiyo was for Innistrad. Sometimes they just want a drive-by 'walker that can be tested for popularity before being deployed more fully later.
Edit: just read the article. He seems like he's been done before. A black alligned character that exploits fears in the form of the mind, and possible herald of another stronger being. Something that was human but become so much more. Even in the title. Nightmare weaver. Now, I know it is not the same character since the other was destroyed, but is there a possible connection to, The Weaver King?
If there's a connection, it's one of recycling. Sort of how Chandra is Jaya Lite or Elspeth is Serra Lite.
Ashiok seems like what Jace would be if he gave into his selfish desires: a being that knows what you think and feel but is only interested in it so far as it enables...zie, I guess?...to use those things against you.
I can't believe I'm the first person to mention that this is watermarked. Not the usual shooting star FNM watermark, but a new design similar to the Ravnica/Mirrodin watermarks.
This is particularly notable because none of the other spoiled cards have a watermark. My first thought was that god-affiliated cards have it, but that would include Ordeal of Purphoros. The most likely scenario is that the watermarks go on god related dual type enchantments or the cards with the new border (these might have a 1 to 1 correspondence). It could also just be a new trend in FNM watermarking, and have nothing to do with Theros specifically.
Edit: Oops, I thought this was an FNM promo, not just spoiled on the poster. Theros definitely has watermarks then.
Isn't that just the set symbol? I didn't attend the M14 events, but I seem to recall the promos for those also being watermarked.
This describes my feelings very accurately. The old Simic were too much "science" and not enough "life." The new Simic are a much more harmonious union of both their colors, instead of one dominating the other so completely.
It's also nice that it differentiates them from the Izzet more.
One thing I'm wondering about: do the Simic still offer medical services? If not, who does?

There are three: Crypt Angel, Desolation Angel, and Fallen Angel. Although I guess you could argue that Desolation Angel is BW.

Is this a reference to something? I'm not really sure what this means.
If you look at the high-res version of her art in the article, her right hand is resting on the top of her cane.
Nice story.
It already exists - in the form of the Ooze token in Return to Ravnica. I doubt they'd commission a new art for it.
It's also nice that it differentiates them from the Izzet more.
