How much do you expect to see the SmallPox/Loam Control start to show up. Since I haven't tested Legacy since August, I don't know it much. I'm afraid of it with the deck I was playing b/c if I don't duress all of their dev. dreams, I lose... Hardcore LD destroys my deck. Sacred ground won't do anything since it can be blown up easily, and dreams doesn't target, so I could gilded light or anything. Blue is the only color I don't run, so I can't mage it. I could cranial it, but that'd feel dumb. Soon I hope to have time to post some old metagame notes....if I still have them.
If you can consistantly beat goblins and threshold, my money is on you to win the whole thing.

Heh, like I said...had only lost 2 games going into 8th round of legacy champs (and those weren't even in the same match...but one of them came with time running out...my only match loss at that point). I would have Top 8'd but Roland couldn't ID with me b/c of bad tie-breakers. I lost game 1 and 3 to a random deck with a good player. it happens.
i was thinking that their sorting program sent us 1 foil wrath of god for every 20 tournaments we've ever played in. i've played in b/tw 60-79, so i would have gotten 3 like i did on that logic. can someone who got 4 confirm they've played in 80-99 tournaments? anyone get more? just a thought....either way i was happy! i got 7 cards, and 3 were ***s.. :-D
The deck I got 12th place at the Legacy Championships with what 80/20 vs goblins and threshold. In one round, I swept solidarity (game one my tech came at a lucky time...top does that). I only lost 4 games in all 8 rounds. I lost game 1, round one to landstill and time ran out b/c we didn't know when to start and thus did so late. in round 4, i mull'd to 4 and conceded in response to his 1st turn duress. in round 8, against roland chang, i won game 2...he got the other two. if he hadn't had such bad tie-breakers, we both would have id'd in the top 8. he mentions me here: http://www.starcitygames.com/php/news/article/12638.html
I've been thinking about writing an article about my deck, but I'm not sure I want to print the deck list anywhere or spend the time to write about it. You def have to beat goblins (which I swept in round 2 and 3). then threshold. the recent side event at PT kobe may change things a little with that 1st place deck, but I haven't had time to test against it yet. I'll try and find the metagame breakdown I typed up before the legacy champs event. I think my deck, roman candle, is an awesome deck, but it doesn't want to face a few things. rifter b/c it takes too long and game 1 i probably won't win. landstill is a problem, but sudden shock and krosan grip might help that (stupid disk). sudden shock might help against madness a lot, not that we were seeing it a lot, but we might now. I spent like 3 months preparing for this format and got very good at it. Thanks WOTC for giving us another GP!
So many of us are pleased to hear that there will be another Legacy format Grand Prix, and not just because it keeps the secondary values of our cards up after extended rotates. Thanks in advance! There is, however, something many of us are sad about, so my question is: Why isn't the eternal rating required to earn a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd round bye lower than constructed? With a lot less eternal sanctioned events, it's harder to get a decent rating in that format. Many of us wish that eternal ratings would just be merged into Constructed ratings. If that can't happen, will you consider lowering the eternal rating requirements for Grand Prix Columbus? As I write this question, this is how many people would qualify for a bye based off rating.
5 out of the entire world would get a 3rd round bye with a Rating > 2025
41 out of the entire world would get a 2nd round bye with a Rating > 1925
203 out of the entire world would get a 1st round bye with a Rating > 1850
Now compare that to how many people are eligible for round byes in other formats, I imagine there is a big difference.

I know they could argue that since you also qualify on constructed rating, more people actually qualify...but most of the people that qualify on constructed ratings don't even play Eternal Formats. I'm really excited about the split 2nd stuff in TS, except the fact that krosan grip kills top. I was going to lay low on legacy for a while before I found out about this. Now I have to think about legacy again, with nobody but my roommate to play against (he was the guy about the same build playing Pikula at Gencon). Did you ever get those portal uber earthquakes you needed? heh, horsemanship.

You'll see the composite number of events is 68 (30 constructed + 38 limited). That is what I based my statement off of. Based on my previous experiences, I only got cards based off that number I believe (composite). Maybe they did me wrong, but I don't think they have counted my 2GH events, as my composite doesn't, and I'm not expecting them to count my eternal events. If I thought 2hg counted toward mpr, I'd throw more of a fit over my stupid 2hg event from Grand Prix st. louis not being reported (man the people who run those events like moy events really screw everything up). Is there an wotc site that says they count 2HG or eternal for MPR?
yeah, fnm counts. i don't believe eternal or 2hg counts, but any extended, type 2, block, or individual limited sanctioned event counts i believe (as long as it's reported).
the ebayer didn't list that it was a free mailing card for 20 events, just said it was rare. i doubt the bidders have seen this thread /don't know they'll probably get one soon. they probably think it's a judge reward (i would have). poor suckers. and that is why everyone should check the mill every day
