You *might* even try going all in on the Crusher, counting on mulligans to put it back in your deck. You'll lose some games for really stupid reasons, but it's substantially stronger than Hand, so you may win others...
It seems to me that you can only use Gamekeeper once, and then it's exiled forever. Is this correct?
Gamekeeper goes to the graveyard as normal, then triggers, and if you choose to move it to the command zone rather than exile it, I don't think you get the effect.
A permanent is returned if a cost or effect instructs the person paying that cost or the controller of the effect to tap a permanent that player controls. ...
Is this a trigger? Does it go on the stack? Can it be Stifled?
Since I seem to have taken over as moderator (for now), and since we're getting such a late start on this round, and since it's the weekend and I want to go outside, I say we keep this one open till Sunday night midnight EST.
Groteller's winning deck, plus a not-too-hard-to-beat deck of my own:
Edit: I think we've exhausted the oppressively good 1-mana discard spells. Fingers crossed that Hymn to Tourach clones don't immediately step up to fill that void. I'm happy to keep playing Rolling 2CB as is, but if/when it restarts, I think it would be wise to adhere to the regular restrictions and bannings for 2CB.
I'm a jerk for reintroducing turn 1 discard to the pool, but... points. Notes: slows deck 1 down by taking City of Traitors; nabs Geth's from deck 2 before Wheel comes down; takes Moat from deck 5 and levels Hydra to 3/3 double strike before Voidstone.
To clarify, is the "standard land rule" ABT's seldom-used "Land Rule", or the more common "Expanded Land Rule" that allows an extra land drop from the hand?
Here's a deck which beats the preceding three under the ELR, but not under the unadorned LR. So... maybe a valid entry, and maybe not.
Mogg, I think your deck can only tie Student/Smiter on the draw.
T1: Student
T1:
T2: Student(2), attack to 17
T2:
T3: Smiter, attack to 14
T3: Oblivion Ring. Has to take Student or you'll die by T6.
T4: attack to 10
T4:
T5: attack to 6
T5:
T6: attack to 2
T6: stabilize with Dread, but you need it as a blocker.
Reap and sow into gruul turf is decent. It's kinda like a 4-mana cultivate with a kicker.
You may have misread Battlefield Scrounger, which can only be activated once per turn.
I don't know that I can realistically see Walker of the Grove getting there from 30 or 40 life, but quick Eldrazi could be quite devastating.
