Within reason yes. That's the whole point of the "beyond a reasonable doubt" clause we have in our legal system. But... the reasonable part is a key word there. How reasonable is to for complete strangers to start having rough sex in a bush at 11pm?

The vast majority of instances of rape are NOT stranger rape in the bushes at 11pm. But rather close friends, acquaintances at parties, and family members. So try again.

Except this isn't a tribal nation, it's the United States of America, a Constitutional Republic based on the premise of rule of law. Tribal jurisdictions are irrelevant to this particular discussion, we base nothing on them.

My entire problem with this particular moment in the thread is the idea that there needs to be extra efforts made to communicate vital emergency/disaster information to people because of biases they acquired elsewhere and are unwilling to relinquish now that they're here. Talk about self fulfilling and self perpetuating prophecies.

You do realize that's kind of exactly what European colonizers did, right? You are literally complaining that the indigenous populations didn't change their culture to become more like the outsiders culture and then in the same breath complaining that people should become more like the host. Guess who was here first? Hint: Not Europeans.

It's like this. The cartoon in the OP looks like it represents the prosperity of two races in the form of the ledge that the White kid climbs up on. So, it's showing that the White kid is prosperous relative to to Black kid. That's what I mean by a relative measure of prosperity.

Then what I said was that in order to have a statistical, relative measure of prosperity, you have to have two reference points and measure one against the other. In the cartoon, the White kid is higher than the Black kid. My question is - what would those two points of comparison be in modern times?

Because I don't agree that Modern Whites and Modern Blacks should be compared to slave-holding Whites and Black slaves.

I think a better measure is absolute prosperity, rather than whether one race is better off than another. And I think that Slavery and subsequent racial oppression after abolition were the causes for nothing but harm to the US, both economically and socially. And there are a lot of real economic and social benefits to be found in racial diversity and racial tolerance today, inasmuch as we can achieve it.

I don't see why observing the current relative differences in prosperity requires equating modern people to slave-holders and slaves. To observe a difference in relative prosperity, you need only look at the current status. It doesn't require drawing the sort of equivalence that the cartoon does to people 150 years ago.

It's not equating - it's recognizing that the reason why status quo disparities exist is largely a result of the previous structural conditions.

Every movement has its bigots, but it's not the core idea of feminism that's at fault.
What, in your own words, is the "core idea of feminism?"

Not my words, but given that I agree with bell hooks here: "Feminism is a movement to end sexism, sexist exploitation and oppression"

LordOwlington-That's my point and why the feminist narative is such BS!

Remember that time women got the right to vote? Remember how they also had little to no political power at the time because they didn't have the right to vote? Yeah...

I was just reading an article on how feminists erase male victims by labeling a women raping a man "initiating sex via force/coercion" and then justifying this by stating that "unwanted sex is not the same thing as rape, rape is an act of class oppression". If you still cant grasp how badly feminism poisons pretty much everything in our culture with misandry and gynocentrism your a lost cause people.

You sure seem to 'read' a lot of 'feminist articles' that you never then link to. Maybe you want to consider, you know, doing that? Given that the quotes you just used bring me back to... this forum when I try to replicate the results in Google you either need to get better at using quotation marks or just post the articles here so we can also read what you read.

I just want to add, that polls are not entirely worthless. Nate Silver used his analysis of the polls to almost perfectly show Obama being elected and didn't he get all the Senate races too?

Nate Silver did not use a single poll as the data point par excellance. He used a congolomeration of a series of data points which relied upon polls that also factored in corrections based upon the polling agencies's political biases.

Not a single person here is the level of stat head the Nate Silver is, nor are they using conglomerate data.

Vac, the same reason why $100/hour will cost jobs for the low skilled people. Just on a different scale. Obviously you are aware that raising min wage to that level will have a detrimental effect......

If you do not believe there will be a negative impact, it should hold true with any amount you raise the wage....

And a 0% tax rate is completely detrimental because the government won't be able to raise any money to exist. This is the same thing for all government services. Just on a different scale. Obviously you are aware that cutting taxes to that level will have a detrimental effect.....

If you do believe there will be a negative imapct, it should hold true with any amount you decrease taxes....

Broad statement on my part, to clarify feminist theory argues men can only be collateral damage from sexism never a "real" victim of it.

That is absolutely and 100% not true. There's reason feminism deals with hegemonic masculinity...

Abortion is about a woman's right to her own body.

Child support is about the child's well being. This debate was hashed out pretty thoroughly well earlier in this thread.

    1. Damage is dealt simultaneously and creatures are only placed in the graveyard as a result of lethal damage the next time State Based Effects are checked (which is the next time a player would gain priority) given that Dralnu's effect is a replacement effect it replaces the damage before anyone would get priority so you can sacrifice your creatures.

    2. Damage is not dealt. Dralnu's ability does not prevent damage. Like protection or healing salve does. Dralnu's ability replaces the damage. The damage event never takes place because permanents are sacrificed instead.

And yet your entire premise rests upon the idea that regulation has no benefit. As if business profit is literally the only thing that matters.

Maybe it's just me, but I find value in HR preventing sexual harassment.
