EDIT: The blue feels off from the first one, but it matches better to the old rock thing. Lemme know if you want me to color match it back to the first one ;D
Do you want just the plain sky background and Talrand? We can make that happen ;D
If not I'll find a way to make the cards work. I liked the idea because Venser's art has an ellipse to it, Brainstorm art kind of had the ellipse, Jace did...etc. so I ran with it. Didn't run far enough I see
I liked it too. I got the inspiration from your avatar when you had it set to Talrand, I was like "where did that art come from...I want it."
Well....living in ohio with my ex for about a year, getting nowhere finding a career, find one back home, and then working in like 3 departments and getting my hours tossed like a salad, so now that i feel like I have some secure hours, I can help agan
And from the creeping shadows, I return. Mostly because I have nothing better to do in my free time anymore x)
Lemme see what I can do to help out. Gunna try and stick around for more than a day this time, promise
EDIT: @Funeral, DNC Made the last one, but I did my best to re-create the style. If you're not satisfied, you can wait for DNC to make it. Again, been a bit rusty since I've been working as an artist at a T-Shirt factory x)
Hey! I'm currently in the process of building the deck I actually want to play for Modern (G/B Rock) and I need something that I can grind some store credit with, while also getting a better feel of the format. I can borrow affinity sometimes, but only when a friend of mine plans on going, so I'd like to actually own a deck. It doesn't need to be top tier, just something that can win me some money to spend on cards. Preferably cheap, and I'd really rather have it be at least semi-interesting to play.
Any deck can get a feel for the format, the only one that really doesn't IS affinity because it kills your opponent so fast their head spins.
My opinions on decks that are good for what you're looking for are...
-Burn (because Burn)
-Zoo (Goyfless, my ex GF has won several torunaments without goyfs, Ghor-Clan is the one doing the heavy lifting)
-Shamans (they work on a certain level, but they lose if CrypticShift is in your area)
-Merfolk (if you feel like spending $10 on Cursecatchers, that is)
Each deck has their own playstyle, but you're gunna have to spend a dollar or two for a deck similar in playstyle to Rock, either being Twin or DnT. Not really the SAME playstyle, but the ability to shut your opponent out of the game is the same.
You can't say Affinity doesn't get a sense of the format because it's too fast but Burn does. They offer the same turn 4 clock. They both try to ignore opponents and go for face, hoping that their plan is stronger than what the opponent does.
Also Affinity can still definitely get a feel, any deck can. Getting a feel just requires you to play a bunch of games and learn what decks do. You need to understand how each deck works and as long as other decks are winning sometimes you'll get that.
To be fair, yes burn is about 1 thing. But its spells are flexible, acting aslo as removal to play a tempo game. Affinity doesnt have that luxury. Affinity also has better options in the SB against Storm and Ad Nauseum.

I saw this list place 6th on a MTGO Premier (credit to Kagooick), looks more like Esper Teachings (sorry if I should move it over there), but it does have Cruel Ultimatium as a win condition and looks more like Grixis colors anyways, it just happens to be running the Esper Charms and Paths.
EDIT: Here's the changes. I decided to do a little bit different hierarchy on the words, let me know if you want me to put it back.
