I suppose that I am simply upset over the fact that she is almost completely superior to Serra Angel and much more mana-efficient than is Akroma, who are my two favorite angel creatures in the game, and thus, by extension, two of my favorite cards overall. I do not like seeing some of my favorite cards so outclassed by another card, no matter how good that card is; another example would be when Tom Brady first rose to fame. At that point, I was very young, but was a great fan of Drew Bledsoe, who was the Patriots' star player at that time. When Bledsoe was replaced by Brady, I was upset by that, and although I am a great fan of Brady, as well, I still have a certain fondness for Bledsoe, the first quarterback I can remember seeing on television when I was a child.

Goyf is actually half of what he costed then... Jace a third.

Bonfire of the Damned topped 50+ and it's come down to 30.

Primeval Titan topped 50 and he's down to 6 bucks..

Garruk Primal Hunter went for 40-50 and he's down to what, 10 bucks?

Zen fetchlands went for 20-40 dollars before they rotated out of standard, and they dropped to 5 bucks each and I got full playsets and traded or sold most because they're topping 30-40 again. No big deal.

Green does not need Goyf to play. Goyf requires a very specialized deck style to run and the cost of the deck is combined with 12 fetches in the deck with crap cards like a tribal sorcery I won't name to work efficiently. Plus there's various ways to deal with a deck centered around one creature...


Let's go with a Naya build zoo style deck that can win games:

4 Knights of the Rel (they get very big with lands in GY), Kird Apes, Loam Lions, Steppe Lynx, Geopede... Let's not even worry about Goyf. Just combine there guys together and what happens? Add in scapeshift and fetches. The deck can very easilly win without even the need for Goyf. He's just a nice addition. A little memoricide, surgical extraction, slaughter games, or quashlike/eradicatelike/lobotomizelike cards can deal with problem cards. Goyf just makes a nice addition but then you have to revolve the deck around him. 4 cards. A deck that relies on landfalls, lands in play, or major land dumps in the GY is far more versatile and threatening than 4 cards that are barely better than a craw wurm.

Then there's a good combo elf deck that costs less than 100 bucks and it can and will win games. Don't discount elf tribal. Same with merfolk tribal.

GoST will drop to about 10 bucks when he rotates out, I guarantee it.
