It looks really great! The only thing I'd suggest is could you move the text up a bit so the full quote (what's written plus "hide anywhere from me") fits? Or, alternatively, if that looks lousy (which I can see being the case), just use "you can't hide anywhere from me" as the text?

    Sorry for being a pain...

I am going to South Africa for two weeks starting tomorrow morning. I do not know what my internet access will be like, so I may not be able to participate fully for a while. I'll be back at my home and regular level of internet use by the 28th or 29th.

Silea made gentle cooing noises at the bird pokemon, holding out one hand in a peaceful gesture as her other one reached into her bag for her Pokedex and something she could feed the creature in front of her.

Birthdays! Mine is on Saturday, but I had my party-thing yesterday. It was nice! I had a few friends over, we had a good time.

In other news, I GO TO SOUTH AFRICA TOMORROW WHAT. I need to do all my packing (all of it) today, which...is pretty indicative of how I normally operate, really. I'm super-excited, but it's also all kind of surreal to me still.

In other other news, I got a cane on Monday! It's been pretty helpful so far, although my hand feels a bit bruised because I haven't gotten used to it. It also has a pretty badass checkerboard pattern.

    BEHOLD:

Silea softened at the sight of the Wingull and crouched down to be at eye-level with it.

    "Aww, poor thing--are you alone?"

She reached her hand out toward the bird pokemon, seeing how it would react.

Silea doesn't immediately notice the rustling, but her Drifloon does and floats gently toward the bushes, pulling her with it and she quickly catches on as to why.

    "Well, what have we here..."

She peers over the top of the bush to see what waits behind it.

Silea surveyed the route ahead of her, arms crossed over her chest.

"Hrm. Not much different from our last path, I have to say. Still the map says this is how to get to the cliffs, so I guess we sally forth, right?"

Silea nodded to herself, pleased, and stepped crisply over to the pokeball on the ground. As she tucked it into her pocket, her Drifloon wound itself back onto her wrist.

She walked for a while longer and shortly came to a three-way crossroad. She sighed and began rummaging through her bag "I know I have a map here somewhere...right. Route 3 it is!"

[OOC: moving to the new route, as I've done my two rolls here]

December birthdays for the win! Mine is next Saturday--I will at long last be twenty (about ****ing time).

In other news, I am flying to South Africa a week from today! I am going to the World Festival of Youth and Students as a(n all expenses paid!!) delegate from my school.

Words cannot describe how excited for this I am. They just can't.

Drifloon darted out from the fog and, at a signal from Silea, gripped all four of the Nidoran's legs in its tentacles to immobilize it. Silea then fished around in her bag and produced one of her two pokeballs.

"Alright, let's give this a try" she muttered, as she tossed the pokeball at the rodent pokemon.

I don't have another image right now, but once I get onto my own computer I'll find one and edit it into this post. Thanks for letting me know!

ETA: HERE IS MY EDIT LOOK ISN'T IT GREAT?
Ahem. So. I can't find any other image I'm super-happy with. So would you be able to just fade to black in the middle and have the text in green over the black part? Think sort of Matrix-y, in terms of aesthetic style.

Sxienxe, what state do you live in? My friend Chally is in NSW and voted for the first time in the recent election, which she was excited about.

I haven't voted in a Federal election yet either--Canada's last was in October '08, two months before my eighteenth birthday =/

@Howler: As far as "everyone's a little crazy"...I know some self-identified 'crazy' people (and other people with mental illness who do not identify with the term) who like that framing, and find it comforting. I'm not really one of them. I mean, yes, it's important to make clear that I'm no less "normal" than people w/o mental illness, but it is nonetheless the case that I have a rather different set of challenges I need to face, and glossing over those with "everyone's a little crazy" sort of has the effect of minimising them.

Like...everyone has their quirks, duh. But not everyone is currently incapable of working because a) their concentration is so ☺☺☺☺ty and b) they go on massive depressive jags on a semi-regular basis.

Also, a lot of the time the "everyone's a little crazy" meme is used to justify denial of accommodation to people with mental illnesses, or otherwise delegitimise their disabilities. Which is something that gets done often enough already, quite frankly.

Sorry for the wordvomit, this is an issue on which I feel strongly.

Hi Arnnaria! Nice to meet you! We aren't all sane here (I have depression/anxiety/ADHD, wooo partyyyyy), but we're all pretty cool people.

I am a sociology major! Though my school plans have been seriously derailed at the moment for reasons both health-related and financial, so I'm not doing much in that regard at the moment.

And I'm a radical lefty who, while skeptical of the ability of the current system to create substantive change, still believes that it can improve things for people in the here-and-now (or make them worse). So yeah, I think voting's important.

I don't know. Not exactly. It's a little confusing and I'm rather out of my own mien. She writes about it a bit here and clarifies.

I have a friend (US Veteran) who is currently living in S. Korea, though, and she says the media is sort of blowing this out of proportion. She hadn't heard about the incident until English-language media picked up on it, and, like, she is a politically savvy person. She keeps up to date.

Also, I guess the island that was attacked was technically UN-controlled? I mean, it's in contested waters, but is not actually South Korean.
