Actually that is a good point, @KJ: why no vote in that post?

Unvote cause I’m not quite ready to force a claim.
Because at current none of them are more likely scum than the others. Tom's closest because 148 but he's also Tom who would absolutely make that Post as town as well.

Who are your top picks for scum now and why?

Quote from KJ »
That leaves tom and shadow. There COULD be both scum here, as tom and shadow are both proficient and ballsy scum players who go against typcial scum tropes. But assuming that also goes against Occum's Razor since assuming that tom and shadow are both powerwolfing at this stage is not super likely. If there IS exactly 1 scum in there, tom is more likely due to 148 because it's could easily be malicious, whereras shadow hasn't done anything like that to me.

There's a pattern you are engaging in here in developing reads on people without voting. You just laid a rationale for why Tom is scum. Why are you not voting?

Quote from KJ »
KCC and Syrenze seem genuinely uninterested in my wagon. For KCC it was concious I think, Syrenze might be ignoring it. Syrenze might not be town in that case.

No, you're wrong. It was bad. Is 'bad' too subjective? The wagon on me is obviously scum driven. That's why I jumped into analysis mode immediately. It's likely not dk for a few reasons, most of which have been said. But then the next three people just /barned dk. Like... come on. This is obvious. Scum latched onto town dk and is trying to push me dead.

Reads to me as more flailing and attention shifting. "People voting me are scum!" Why? Who?

Quote from Rhand »
Quote from Grapefruit21 »
So that escalated quickly... Yes KJ's reads are bad but his approach is town. This is like ditf all over. Though he definitely felt like h was building to a tom vote in 154.

Vote: Axel

Why is his approach town?
And why Axel?

His vote is in the sweet spot of opportunistic, overexplained, and easy.

As for KJ kind of everything but especially this page. He seems curious and like he's looking for answers. I loved the way he narrowed his list to take dk off in the next post after his 1-2 in x. His questions this page have generally been pointed in ways that look hunty. And he's showing zero panic despite being at roughly 7 votes 72 hours in. Yes it's early but with the history of recent wagons his chances of dying today are astronomical barring a massive turnaround and he's entirely nonplussed and continuing to solve and interact. Not a single sign of anti spew.

Hmm, I read KJ's posts as attention-shifting and panicked, contrary to hunty and nonplussed. And I read this post as ingenuine.

Quote from Vaimes »
No but really, the way he’s sort of mindlessly pushing scumreads pings scum to me. I know tom isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty as scum, but it always always always feels forced, in a “I need results **** the process” kind of way.

Word vomit sorry.

I'm not familiar with Tom's play, but this. The way he's tossing out reads (and non-responding to questions asked) is completely scummy.

Alright i think i can confidently call cantrip town. No cloying seediness at all and he straight up hasnt addressed that leak in his scumgame yet afaik.

Fuwa and az also seem pretty town. Something something working their way into gameflow

Kcc response to az (something like "youre reading that post in the wrong tone") is the sort of confident, nonshowy "im town" brushoff that only the best scum can fake

So when you said "gross", it felt a little like shade. Because you said you thought it made him town, but you applied a negative connotation up front. Obviously you'd say I'm reading too much into this as either alignment; can you articulate why you'd apply a descriptor that paints Vez's action in a negative light if you think he's town?
I’m gonna start here cause it’s the heart of the matter. The idea of a player planning to lynch anyone and everyone that gets wagoned to lynch, including town reads is gross. I don’t like it, it’s not play I think is healthy (even though it can pan out, take Tom’s role in secret agent Mafia as an example). Absolutely agree that it’s a negative connotation. Saying it up front and recognizing that he might as well mention it ahead of time comes from a place that I would bet is townie 9/10 times.

My read on this is similar. To choose to vote even when it means town dies is absolutely self-serving. However, claiming this early does read more town to me and while I'd admit that it has been 7 years, I do remember Vezok being an entirely self-serving player.

It's long weekend in Canada here - will likely be inactive till Monday.

It's amazing how just a few posts can totally change my perception on a player. Blue's last few posts are incredibly scummy. His last post also reads like "Please let's just do the wagon on Zajnet so that when he flips scum I'll look better." and the last part of the post looks like he's just trying to set TIM up to look bad when Zajnet flips scum.

Either way, this doesn't change my opinion on Zajnet and in fact makes me even more comfortable with the wagon.

@TIM: Momentum on Zajnet is more useful than on Blue at this stage imo. Please vote Zajnet and I'll definitely support a good look at Blue afterwards. I'm not sure about BE at this point.

Sorry guys, I've been really busy and with a cold on top of that.

I switched my vote back over from blue to BlueElectric because of my earlier remark about BlueElectric. He was my biggest scumread at the time.

I'm unsure on what to do about Guardman because I was fully expecting him to claim Spot. Him claiming not Spot threw me for a loop, and makes me wonder if he's telling the truth. I'm thinking that someone faking that PR would just claim Spot.

As for LC, I read him as cautious town. Everything he has been saying sounds like someone who is playing as an alt, probably for the first time as an alt, and they're putting extra thought into their responses.

I'm going to be busy this weekend but I'll try to get a meatier post or two in.

You said:

I agree with WoD that MH probably wouldn't give a PR that restrictive...

And I don't like that he says he can't create his own lolcat images. There are sooo many variations already out there that it feels... arbitrary.

Vote: Guardman

This business about Guardman being spot is completely irrelevant to your reasons for voting him. I fail to see why Guardman not being Spot is strong enough to make you unvote.

It feels like were just looking for a way to get off a bad wagon, yet did not do it very well. The fact that you unvoted preemptively while asking Guardman if he was or was not Spot reinforces this feeling:

Quote from Zajnet
For Guardman to quote:

I am Spot

I am not Spot

I will not say whether or not I am Spot.

Unvote while I wait for his answer. Sorry I don't really have time to post more

Like what is this supposed to mean? If he quoted "I am spot" would you suddenly vote him again? According to what you're now saying, you would. Which means unvoting him here in the first place is off. The fact that you unvoted him before he answered this question makes me feel confident that you were in fact just trying to get off the bad wagon any way you could.

Confirm vote.

Quote from blue

Syrenz: Zajnet votes in agreement that Manders doesn't like PRs and wouldn't do that. Gaming the mod and scum/town both do it. He says you can create your own lolcats so guardman should still be able to post. Guardman says he's not allowed to create his own lolcats. Zajnet says are you spot and unvotes waiting for a response. He voted, got more information, unvoted, got more information and is unsure of what to do. That's what it seems like to me. I guess I don't find it as scummy as you do.

Whether you think atlseal/Pinky is scum or not, this is entirely useless. You are attacking Pinky for something she (?) cannot respond to. Ergo there can be no discussion on this wagon. Ergo this will not go anywhere and you are wasting time. Additionally, your reasoning for voting atlseal is pretty weak. Please choose a new direction and get on a wagon that has a chance of moving somewhere. Otherwise we'll just be sitting here forever.

Yes, it is, but I asked you specifically about it, because you were in that game, and you would have seen how caustically and derogatory Manders' response to the PR she had was. (And the PMs I got were worse)

What I'd like to know from you, Pinky, is... Based on Manders rather caustic responses regarding her post restriction in that game and previous games, do you really think that she'd put a post restriction so restrictive in one of her own games?

The way I see it, this is a win-win situation for me - Either Guardman is scum and faking his PR, or I get to throw Manders' behaviour in Flame Warriors back in her face, if she really did put that posting restriction in this game.

Yes, I am a douchebag.

Quote from blue

Zajnet

What is your opinion on this?:

To elaborate and clarify, this is the order of events:

1) Wrath of Dog votes Guardman for his PR - claiming that MH wouldn't put that in this game.
2) Zajnet barns WoD and votes Guardman for his PR stating that MH wouldn't put it in this game and also that he feels the fact that he can't make his own lolcats is off. (I'm not looking at that post right now but I think that's about the size of it).
3) Zajnet unvotes Guardman while waiting for him to answer his question about being Spot (which he asks in the same post).
4) Zajnet states that he is as of yet unsure what to do about Guardman.

The problem with #4 is that Zajnet voted Guardman because he didn't believe that MH would put in a PR and he doesn't like the fact Guardman can't use his own lolcats. Nothing yet has happened to go against those points. The fact that he unvotes Guardman while asking him a question completely unrelated to the reason he voted him (i.e. are you spot?) is off. The fact that he states he doesn't know what he wants to do about Guardman when he already voted him while stating his reasons for doing so and had no reason to unvote is also off. Re:LC

I've lost all the posts I quoted from Thursday and am too lazy to do that again. But basically, my problems with him:

His second post in the game regarding Blue's "confusingly written" post struck me as the type of thing scum would say to get some townie points. It also felt like he was dealing with inside information as the post could go either way - so assuming that Blue was just town having trouble expressing himself felt off.

His post where he concedes atlseal's point and lets go of the Blue wagon (which he had seemed to be in full support of a little earlier) also felt wrong. But he has now addressed this somewhat.

Lastly, as already mentioned I don't like his recent posts regarding Guardman. First he chimes in "Scum do this." which as I said, feels like he's just trying to add fuel to the wagon without voting. This is backed up by the fact that after I question him on this, he suddenly recalls that town can do this as well. All in all I don't like this part.

The rest of his posts are fairly null to me.

However, I'd like to see more of his posts and I am willing to hold on this wagon to see this:

I'll work to address both of these this weekend by rereading the thread and bringing back some more solid reads.

Whether he is or is not spot should have no relevance to your opinion of him for that is not what you voted him for. Your reasons for voting are outlined quite clearly above and nothing has happened to counter those reasons.

I don't like this and I don't like the fact that you voted Guardman in the first place.

Scum list:

Zajnet - Scummy for the reasons outlined above.
LC - Scummy for the reasons outlined above.
Blue Electric - Scummy for there being a complete lack of consistency between the things she posts and strange and confusing plays throughout the game. I am however torn between her being scummy or just a strange player.
Blue - Getting overall town vibe from posts now. Not someone I am interested in pursuing at present.
atlseal - I have not decided how I read atlseal at present.
TheIceMan - Townish for scumhunting and displaying mindsets similar to my own beliefs.
Kahedron - Not enough posts to go on.
Emo Pinata - I have not decided how I read emo pinata at present.
Wrath of Dog - Don't like that he decided Guardman was a good direction. Would like to see more of his posts though (especially now that he has apparently dropped Guardman).
Guardman - I don't feel it's likely that he's faking the PR. At the same time, I feel it is more likely that MH would give a townie a PR over a scum. This is modgaming, but slight town.
Archmage Eternal - Feels like Archmage Eternal. Don't have much of a read on him other than that at this point.

So being the third vote on somebody, let alone in the RVS, is not telling of alignment? How do you figure?

Additionally, I was under the impression - though I may have been mistaken - that you were unvoting WoD as a result of people saying that the third vote is not a reliable tell (which you are now implying you knew before). If this was not the reason for unvoting WoD, what was?

There appears to be a distinct lack of consistency between the things you are saying.

I don't know; without Guardman commenting on the game itself, it's impossible to judge him except as a waste of space. I just felt it was worth mentioning.

Quote from Liquidity Crisis
Quickly glanced over the wagon itself.

In short, he assumes Manders would never put a PR into one of her games, and he assumes townies would never fake a PR, both of which are flawed claims. The first is obviously mod gaming. The second is overly broad - indeed, (I'm rather sure) a townie's faked a PR at least once on this site, though I can't remember whether it was Az or Puzzle - it was a long time ago.

His point itself - that it could be a fake PR - is fine in a vacuum, and my statement was meant to note such, but we don't know if Guardman is faking it, and as long as he doesn't give us straight answers using EP's questions, we can't learn more. So I guess my answer to your question is no, I don't agree with the wagon, and it seems a little uncharacteristic of WoD to get tied up on such a little thing.

Slant

I think I like my initial assessment that you were just trying to add some fuel to the wagon with no accountability for the actual wagon.

Quote from blue

#30 – Syrenz – If you want a token question then asking about experience level is it. I don’t think it’s scummy but Syrenz isn’t called out by Emo for asking a token question. The second question to BE is also token considering BE has stated in her two posts the reasons she voted as faulty as I believe they are. Syrenz does call out Kahedron for something I was suspicious about though. I don’t like the jocular tone of the post considering RVS has ended. I find this whole post to be pretty token and then there’s just a vote at the end with the justification “I like this wagon.” Syrenz would you say your questions are token questions?

I believe my questions are relevant - or I would not ask them. More specifically, I already got into why I think experience is a relevant question, I wanted BE to be more specific in her reasons for voting WoD before I proceeded further and I was wondering why Kahedron ignored the posts preceding his.

Quote from Archmage Eternal

@Syrenz. Why did you like the Blue wagon?

I didn't like post #26 which felt like Blue was just mudslinging and I agreed with TIM's assessment of this post being an empty question.

Then in post 135 he unvotes and has to think on blue and evaluate the wagon. What? He liked the wagon, whats there to evaluate?

I liked the wagon at the time I voted for him. Obviously that is able to change. Blue's posts around the time I unvoted him gave off a different vibe than the ones I voted him for.

I don't like this post at all. It seems too defensive, wordy, and cautious to tackle what is otherwise a minor issue.

Precisely. And it's a complete turn-around from his opinion before. LD before I question him: Scum tend to fabricate post-restrictions. Upon me questioning him about his post: Suddenly remembers that town do it as well. Something is off.

LD's been bothering me from the start, so I think it's about time I do a PBPA on him. Will do this shortly.
