This is My Savra deck.
It doesn't do anything.
I've had it for 4 years and I'm pretty bored with it right now. Its been a Stax deck, a control deck, a toolbox recursion deck and a token deck. Now its just a lower power deck for when I'm playing more casual games. The trouble is it doesn't really do much. I just kind of durdle around and sometimes pull off a big Tooth and Nail.
Right now I'm trying to run as many creatures as possible and have them be the instants and sorceries of the deck.
Any suggestions?
You just want to win too much. Casuals HATE annihilator but as a control player myself, I love seeing their board get wiped and not being able to retaliate.
Try some different win conditions besides eldrazi. Let them feel like they're still in it when you're winning.
I've fiddled with Modern on Cockatrice the past couple of years and have all the cards for GR Tron in cardboard except the Grove of the Burnwillows. They're $35+ each, I remember when they were $5!! I'm not but these at $35 when they'll drop if theres a reprint. That was keeping me from playing Modern IRL the past year.
I really enjoyed watching the Modern format pro-tour this weekend and was thinking about building 8Rack or UWR Control. I know Liliana has been going up and planned on trading my foil version for a playset but now LotV is pushing $60 each!! My foil version didn't rise much so thats not an option anymore.
So luckily I have a playset of Scalding Tarns, a few Arid Mesas, a Vendilion Clique and Remands, all the shocks. I'm close to being able to build UWR Control, I'll just pick up 3 more Snapcasters... They're $30 now!!! I need a 2nd Cryptic Command... Its $40 now!!! WTF!!
This demand WotC wanted is going to kill this format before it can begin. There is no MM2 this year and its not like it would help alleviate prices anyway. I've been playing since '95 and this is the most expensive era in Magic ever. This whole "play the magic stock market" mindset has to change. Cards should not be jumping 20-30 dollars overnight.
I didn't read all 98 pages but why isn't there a red splash in this deck?
I've been playing this on Cockatrice over the weekend and found this is pretty competitive. Storm and Twin go into topdeck mode and I killed an affinty player who emptied his hand on the 2nd turn with 2 Shrieking Afflictions and a Rack.
More than a few times I found myself safe behind a Bridge with a few Rack effects out but no way to finish off the opponent.
A red splash would let us run 4 Lightning Bolts (which help with resolved planewalkers this deck has issues with). 1 or 2 Stensia Bloodhalls and my favorite addition, Rakdos's Return. The x discard helps when we're in topdeck mode and the opponent is just keeping a fist full of cards to turn off the Rack effects. The x damage can just finish a weakened opponent off too.
Slaughter Games in the side is a slow but reliable way to get rid of Leylines.
The mouth and octopus are really cool looking. The dryad/zombie thing looks amaturish and the roots one is a bit too simple.
Can you line the interior of the boxes with felt or something? I'd worry about getting my sleeves scratched up.
If these can fit EDH decks, I'm sure you'd have a market.
New World Order (NWO) was implemented. Basically around 2007 WotC found their new player base stopped growing because the game had become too complicated over the past 15 years. They've been actively trying to make the entry level Magic easier to get into.
The core sets come out every year now in the summer. Tenth Edition was the last numbered core set. M10 came out in '09 and did away with mana burn and using the stack during combat.
The Titan cycle made it okay to play 6 mana creatures. Baneslayer Angel made it okay to have $50 staples in Standard.
Jace, the Mind Sculptor's pre-order price of $20 burned a lot of online retailers, now ANY planeswalker starts off around $30 and goes up or down from there.
EDH became mainstream, its called Commander after WotC started supporting it as a format and its super, super popular.
Duels of the Planeswalkers came out for console game systems, steam, ipad and has brought in a lot of new or 10 years off returning players.
Magic currently has the largest player base its ever had. All these new players have bought Legacy and Modern staples and the demand has drastically raised prices.
We've retuned to Mirrodin and Ravnica and everyone is wanting to go back to Zendikar next (mostly for fetchlands I assume, they're $40-$60 now).
You just have to wait.
Did you verify the address they had? It could have the wrong apartment number or Circle instead of Street etc.
The mail carrier may be dropping it in the wrong mailbox. I had my neighbor bring a netflix movie to my house that got dropped in their mailbox.

Now that is an island! Face in the arch is great/right amount of subtlety, too.

is this Cabo San Lucas arch?
RaoulOctober 9, 2013 at 9:04 PM
Could be. I've had an old photo since the 80's and since I was pressed for time I basically copied the arch but changed the background. Didn't know it was a famous landmark...I'm a horrible person!

It being cheap is a plus.
No one is going to cut up judge foil Vindicates...
That Mishra artwork is awesome. Just a boy and his Dragon Engine.

or better yet: Rock Lobster, Paper Tiger, Scissors Lizard!
I hope they tell us how this "never been done" block structure works.
