Is anyone still having issues finding these locally?
I had trouble finding these locally on the the first day they were available. The only one I was able to get within a 50 mile radius was the one I preordered from my LGS (only one preorder per person).
It's interesting that they don't say the Memnite promo is full art. I hope it is and they don't go back to non-full art promos for Gameday (Like Naya Sojourners).
They also don't mention if they are foil or not. Although I do like the inclusion of the preview cards from Mirrodin Besieged.
Personally, I wouldn't. I don't see myself purchasing photos (digital ones at that) that will becoming worthless in a month's time. The seller is trying to get something for nothing. And then he could sell the individual cards for more money after.
If Karn is at 5 loyalty and you use his -5, then his loyalty gets checked by the game before the stack goes off and he's put in the graveyard. Since the ability doesn't target you could bring him back using his own ultimate. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure that's how it would work.
However these spoilers just don't seem right. I'm very skeptical at this point.
I can't wait for rotation. I loved the Alara block but am ready to move on. Of course, as much as I love Zendikar, I'm sure I'll be saying the same about it around this time next year.
I use the ultra-pro 4-pocket pages. They're made for postcards but hold the plane cards just as well. They won't be as snug as 9-pocket pages for regular cards but I've had them in my trade binder and haven't had any problem with them moving around or falling out.
I got mine from a local baseball card shop (my LGS doesn't carry them). Or you could try online. I know Amazon has them.
Love the new specter art. Has a very classic fantasy feel to it. Can't wait to get a set of those.
Edit: Also glad they're back to doing alternate art for the Gameday promos. Even though I don't care for the slime that much, I'd rather see alternate art over the regular ones.
Isn't this the same art that was at the paper decks given out at some cons last year, with the only difference that the previous version were looking like coal black and white sketches and these are colored?
I believe these are the ones you're talking about. In which case it looks like this is new art. Of course it could still be concept art, just different art than we've seen.
Awesome cards for a Duel deck. I'll definitely be pre-ordering a couple of these from my local store. I do find it odd that storywise these two really were never "vs" each other, at least directly. Maybe it's a hint at a future storyline.
The always fun Splinter Twin + Fatestitcher = infinite Fatestitchers (make them at the end of your opponents turn and attack for the win). Too bad the two don't curve well.
Since the Magma Phoenix is already in the Graveyard when the ability triggers (and therefore no longer equipped), it does not get the benefit of the Basilisk Collar.
Limited is awesome for getting singles. I'm currently playing a U/W deck which I'm sure is around $700, but I'm sure cost me nowhere near that. It's all from drafting FNM every week. Even if I don't open what I need, I can usually trade it for what I do.
It's definitely very easy to get sets of commons and uncommons by drafting, since even the good ones will get passed if the person isn't playing that color.
It also helps to build multiple decks. When you buy singles, all you money gets focused into one deck. Drafting can spread your options out. I got a playset of Goblin Guide a long time ago, but didn't have a deck I wanted to put him in. But now I'm glad I did since he's in my Devastating Summons deck. The vast majority of my collection is from drafting.

Add on "enters the battlefield tapped unless you sacrifice an artifact." Or maybe "unless you tap an untapped artifact."

Co-starring Meddling Mage.
