I feel like he's going to fit into a stupid stupid artifact combo deck with ornithopter, mox opal, and steel overseer (maybe some voltaic key). But I dont think he'll see play anywhere else.

I don't think the Zerg were as technologically advanced as the Phyrexians.

Well their leaders are equally evil.

This card does nothing. Proliferate is an action. You might as well print a bear with the text "Draw a card." It's meaningless.

Whoops. I misread the wording on proliferate. Change that to When ETB, Proliferate.

I'm expecting to see the new bears have proliferate:

    Bears of Counter Increasing 1G
    Creature - Not a Bear
    Proliferate
    2/2

Yeah, if infect and sunburst are in Mirrodin, that means that there will be a lot of cards that interact with counters (doubling season FTW?) will be quite potent. I don't know if there will be enough cards good enough to see constructed play, but if Jace gets redonkulous, black might be a necescary color so that you can shut him down with hexmage.

Jace Belern "level uped" into Jace 2.0 but he was reprinted.

I think his point is that 'Ajani Vengeant' is the precursor to Ajani Goldmane. Ajani, Garruk, Liliana, Jace, and Chandra will be reprinted in their Lorwyn forms for a while because those are the standard walkers and those characters are devoid of their specific stories.

Ajani Vengeant was Ajani just past the awakening of his spark, during the events of Shards of Alara. Assuming the storyline of blocks continues forward with each happening after the other, we will not see Ajani Vengeant return. If they make a block that goes back through the storyline, we could see him again.

I'm hoping for plain Blue and plain White Tezzeret and Elspeth. The only multicolored walker that i've liked so far is Ajani V. Sarkhan's iterations and Nicky B are rather lackluster in my opinion.

No, it's called Koros. It was originally called Boros Bushwhacker after the RW aggro deck featuring Goblin Bushwhacker. Koros is mostly white splashing a little red (more 75-25 rather than 50-50)

Useful card is useful. Will see a lot of play in 75s that include black, especially if something like pyromancers ascension gets stupid.

This is called UR counter-burn, and it will continue to be a good archetype forever. It's one of my personal favorites.

Yeah. I didn't want to call it counter-burn. Its waay too much burn and very little counter in my cube. But yeah, same archetype.

So, for my 15 new in each color, I want to add some of the cooler cycles in MTG history (that aren't wallet killing). I'm thinking the Decrees, finishing the Avatar cycle from prophecy. Anything people can think of?

Hi yall, its been a while. We've drafted the cube on three separate occasions, and a couple of archetypes have popped up every time. Not sure if its the way the cube is built or just the personalities of the people i cube with.

GW beats: Very fast, very agressive, almsot everything costs less than 3 mana. Usually finishes up with a Mycoloth or another suitable fattie.

UW control: This is the most consistently powerful archetype so far, winning almost every best of 3 match. Runs off of all the blue CA cards you can get your hands on, and finishes up with cards like Deathless Angel, Ith, High Arcanist, or my personal favorite Sphinx of Magosi.

BR Aggro: This is the weakest of the common archetypes, but has a good matchup against UW control. Best removal suite in the cube plus VERY aggressive creatures preys on the slower decks in the cube meta.

UR Spell Aggro: Wow, this archetype came out of nowhere. Runs a few counterspells, and is pretty heavy on the red direct damage. It tends to win in unwinnable situations with kicked Elemental Appeals and incredibly large Lightning Serpents

Fringe archetypes exist like UB Reanimator (deadly but a bit too slow next to the other decks), RG Aggro (not as good as GW) and Bant (it gives a nice toolbox of finishers from flying to raw power, but doesn't have the same density of bombs and consistency that 2 color combos have), but those four are the mainstays.

Now, I want to expand to 450 before I go back to college where we will get full 8s often-ish. I'm thinking of expanding each color by 15, 1 more artifacts (as well as finishing my set of fixers), and 5 more multicolored (each 2 color combo will get another). I also want to raise the W curve while dropping the rest. Right now, you either go all in on white and pick up every 2 drop you see, or splash white for some removal auras and bombs. Thoughts on stuff i'm missing in the cube?

Im also thinking of adding the multicolor kicker cards like orim's thunder into their respective main colors... thoughts?

I used to have Momentary Blink, but I ultimately cut it because the lack of good ETB abilities to abuse it with, and so it seemed a bit lackluster. If you can give me a reason to up its worth in my eyes, it could see its way back in.

I think I'm going to dump the following 4 from blue:

I want to keep a cycle of charms in the cube for flavor reasons. Ice Cage has not been proven horrible yet. The adept is quite a beating against GW heavy decks. Perilous Research seemed like a good idea, but in practice it has proven to be lackluster. Scroll Thief would be better if it had evasion so its going. Allied Strategies was a misguided effort to keep the 5 color dream alive. Kederekt and Tidespout stay in until i can get better blue finishers. And Vision Skeins has proven to be quite useful so far, either EoT it for HUGE value for a turn, or with Jace, it can make the milling that much easier.
