Does anyone know where, if at all possible, to find a print of the art for the unglued island?
That island was my first card and I've been hanging onto it for a good long while. I'd love to be able to frame the card with a print of its art if I could find a print.
Haven't posted in a long while, but I'm looking for help with my keyboard shortcuts. I'm running Ubuntu 14.04 on both my desktop and laptop and I compiled Cockatrice from source on both with the same commands. Everything works perfectly on my laptop, however, on my desktop, my keyboard shortcuts (draw, mulligan, next turn, etc.) don't work while in a game. Could anybody help me with a solution? I've searched to no avail.
If standard staples start to get that expensive then people will just start cracking huge amounts of packs for profit and the price will go down.
I'm all for buying a $100 box and pulling several $50 - $100 rares.
i present to you: azami voltron / wizard beat down:
Your win conditions are stabilize the board, then equip azami with Diviners wand for voltron beat down, OR, you can bounce their board using several global bounce spells, and via copying artifacts and giving your creatures global pump up, swing with waves of men in pointy wizard hats! other possible win conds include jace ult and driving your opponents to madness and scooping. see the full post in my signature for a list of card interactions and strategies i use.
Wizard beatdown or counter everything until your opponents scoop via Ertai, Wizard Adept shenanigans.
Edit: Or Mindslaver/Academy Ruins. In a multiplayer game it isn't exactly infinite since you can only control one player.
I enjoy shroud more overall so I voted for it, but I think each has its place. Shroud should be a primarily blue mechanic whereas hexproof should be a primarily green mechanic. For example, hexproof is perfect on Troll Ascetic and shroud is perfect on Sphinx of Jwar Isle. Geist of Saint Traft is an example of a card that should of been given shroud instead of hexproof.
Both abilities should also be used in moderation. Let's stop with the hexprooftribes.
I am getting 1 box and my friend is getting 2. We're getting 8 people together to do our own three drafts. And since the person that bought the box keeps all the cards we won't have to worry about rare drafting.
TheBlackCat is quite the talented necromancer.
I posted in this thread back in 2009, yikes. Now my playgroup ranges from 19 to 22.
The average age does seem to be around 24 judging from the people at my LGS though.
Our store is Drafting on the release date and selling the rest. They had a certain number of pre-orders at $125 and the rest are first come first serve at one box per person at $140.
Just to keep the few people that might get confused by that from being so. Helix Pinnacle has shroud.
You also can't target enchantments with Vorel, however it is still probably a good inclusion in the deck because Vorel can generate absurd amounts of mana with things like Gyre Sage or Pentad Prism in conjunction with any untap effects.
I do it because I always have to be doing something with my hands. On my desk alone I have a pair of nail-clippers, a slinky, a rubik's cube, a wooden top, a multi-tool, a pocket knife, a deck of basic lands, and an assortment of pencils and pens. All of them are there so that I can subconsciously flip/spin/twist them around.
If I'm not riffling my hand I'll probably be tapping/spinning a pencil.
I don't do it because someone else did it, and I don't do it to mess with people.

Your deck still has an infinite combo via Sigil Tracer, Turnabout and Blue Sun's Zenith. In case you weren't already aware.

Remand is also up there.

Oh, and bring back Shroud and Fear.
