I had my Rafiq deck COMPLETELY foiled! However, as set continue to be released and I find new cards that I love for my EDH, it becomes more and more difficult to have all foil. Check my deck out to see what is foil if you like! I think i've got it about sixty percent. http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?t=174606 I absolutely love drawing my first hand, and maybe one card in it isn't foil!
Offtopic: Just don't write on the backs because that gets you DQ'd!! (Pulled that on a guy that called me for Scooping because I lifted up my land pile to arrange it properly. I got a game loss for it, but I still won. When he left I took a sharpie and made a circle on the middle card of his deck. HEHEHEHE own medicine is nice.)
I did the same to a buddy once. He's very good with slight of hand, so he thinks we don't realize that he's dropping extra land on the board, but we do. I took his entire EDH one night and drew a small inconspicous symbol on the back of all uber cards, and drew up a key to it that I keep with my EDH! To this day, he still doesn't realize what the paper I keep looking at is!
Another thing regarding dry-erase. If your deck is sleaved (I don't know who's isn't) you can use a dry-erase pen to write counters on the sleave of the individual card. That's less dice that you will need on your table.
I did something very similar. Here's what I did and it worked out great! I printed it off (at work) on a sheet of clear plastic paper that is used for overhead projectors, then I would fill in the information with a fine tip dry erase marker. When you do that, you don't need such a big space for your life total, because you can simply erase what was there and fill in your new total! It could be something as simple as the one I've attached if you use dry erase!
This is actually my brothers deck and I've got to say, it's been a real pain in the butt for me thus far. A whole lot of using his general to attack, and then using his ability to copy another card. It's freaking rediculous how he can pull just what he needs when he needs it. I think the reason he's not too concerned about his land is that he is relying on copying most of his creatures rather than playing them. Using Changelings for dragons is something that I'm sure hasn't even crossed his mind. This should be interesting.
Also to whoever was asking: Kamigawa was picked becuase its (almost) garunteed to give you a general in your pack.
Yeah, that's what I figured. That's why I suggested that if they didn't draw a general, they may draw the name of one from that set out of a hat and buy it. Just a thought.
Looking at it, I'd say it were geared toward being in the middle of the road. No specific effects, just basic cards that you might use against various types and quantities of opponents. That's just a guess though...
It sounds like a butt load of fun! Why limit to just Kamigawa? Throw names of blocks into a hat and have everybody draw! If they don't pull a general, put all the general's that were released in their drawn block into a hat and allow them to buy the general they draw without dipping into their card fund. Throw some ideas around like that and see how it goes.
You seem to be really intent on abusing Elspeth in this deck. She is very good, but a card that needs to resolve and sit on the field for 4 turns untouched to activate is not something you want to focus too many interactions around. She's just far too big a target to expect her to consistently go off.
Agreed. In my experience, when she comes out, she becomes a target. But also in my experience, she's been very difficult to attack when she creates a 1/1 blocker every turn. The only time she ever takes damage when I play her is when I get greedy and instead of making a baby, I give someone flying and go on the offensive. Also, that's why you want to sit with a couple of Counterspells. Anything that targets her can be countered. Have damage redirected to Swans of Bryn Argoll or something. I understand that I can't build a deck with a single card as it's entire backbone, but she never really was due to her usually coming out late in the game. Let's see what happens when I get her out earlier.;)

Removed a Plains, a Forest, Levitation, and Forced Fruition.
Added Wooded Bastion, Flooded Grove, Sapseep Forest, and Rite of Passage. Going to put Behemoth Sledge back in, I just haven't decided what to remove yet. Keep the suggestions coming please!
