Quick question that some friends and I ran into when cubing. I have a Triskelion with 3 +1/+1 counters on it. My opponent agony warps it giving it -3/-3.
Because at least 100 people were sent home after waiting for hours as the store frantically chased down anyone who might have boxes for sale. Showing up to a pre-release and then being told that you cant actually join because they don't have enough guild boxes to give out. I know some people had come from pretty far away to play the set, and then couldn't even crack a pack.
They had approximately 111 packs left over by noon Saturday. That is not close to enough to run another 3 sealed flights and a 2HG, not to mention prize support.
I love the store and they did an amazing job all things considered, but Wizards completely screwed them over by sending them so little product. The only people who even got to play were the people who had pre-registered in advanced, and 25 people picked at random. Something I have never personally needed to do for any pre-release.
My LGS had 132 players for our midnight release. Our first sealed flight on Saturday had 147. There were still 2 more flights on Saturday planned, as well as 2HG and more sealed flights on Sunday.
Wizards sent them enough product for.. 390 players. Every other store in the city is also completely out of product.
Group Hug does not refer to any particular deck, or any particular color. It's just a blanket word for a deck that's usually built around cards that benifit everyone, either through card draw like Howling Mine, or provides everyone with mana, or plays lots of cards like Gate to the aether. Most group hug decks tend to run R/U from personal experience.
Just threw this together. Playtesting has been looking good for far. It's a really fun deck to play, drop little dudes, make little dudes into big dudes, draw tons of cards, wipe out opponents. Usually you start attacking the weakest player early to stock up on cards, and then move around the table from there.
I can believe it. They are advertising the movie in M11 packs, which is the first time I have seen Wizards advertising a non-MTG product inside their boosters. Of course I take it all with a grain of salt as there's no actual proof.
why not running sign in blood instead of grim discovery?
You are running bad cards to justify playing other bad cards ( marauders... )
Grave titan is also way to expensive for this deck and even if it wasn't that uncastable there's plenty of cards before this big guy to play before ( mind sludge, corrupt.. )
Disfigure is awesome ( hierarch, leech, every mono red creature, cobra, tar pit, shade sometimes etc.. ) if you want to mix your 4 doom blades
lulwut.
Marauders is not a bad card, nor is Grim Discovery. The first one acts as removal or a beater, the other one recurs creatures and fetchlands or tec-edges.
I do however agree that Grave Titan is much too expensive in sui-back. Sign in blood would be a fine replacement.
Why bother summoning trap or polymorphing him out when you could use either to get a creature out that just straight up wins the game? I would much prefer an Iona or an Emrakul.
Not sure how adding green makes the deck more consistent. If anything, the cipt lands and the need for green mana make it less consistent. You also don't really "get" anything to combat problem cards like firewalker (splash white gets path, splash black deathmark, etc.) What makes you say it is more consistent?
I do understand the fun aspect, however. Bloodbraid is a splashy, fun card to play and traditional rdw might wear on some people.
I meant consistent in terms of getting those last points of damage though to win the game. Rather then what happens to a lot of RDW players where they get their opponent down low but run out of steam. It's not often that a CIPT land will offset you by any amount, especially when only RR CIPT. You have plenty enough G sources to hit the 1 G you need to get a BBE out or activate a ravine. Firewalker is annoying as they get, but Unstable Footing does a well enough job against them.
And really, fun is BBE into a Ball Lightning and watching your opponents jaw drop as they realize how much is swinging at them T4.
I find Mono-Red was too inconsistent in a 8 round tournament. Splashing green for blowout cascades, better late game plays, and in my personal case, Sparkmage+Collar combo against Mythic it worked out much better. I know the green doesn't give me the combo, but the cascade lets me play it more effectively.
This is what im running on MODO. It takes bits of RDW and throws in a deck full of hastey creatures. With the Goblin+Summons in SB for those matchups where you want to him them even harder and faster.
Is the Triskelion now a 1/1, or a 3/3?

The dragon doesn't even have FLYING for cryin' out loud.\\edit//
Apparnetly it does, and the spoiler is just incorrect. I feel silly.
Still not a very good dragon. Sure it can hit multiple targets, but it's only good will come from M11 limited.
