Ugh, this is much harder than it would have been if the mechanic in some way resembled the art . If it was just the mechanic we had, and we didn't have to worry about the art, i'd have submitted Wandering Mind - a creature loses itself in thinking of some interesting idea and becomes oblivious to its surroundings, then suddenly snaps back to reality, but in the process, loses the idea. But, seeing as that does not resemble the art in the least, that idea gets nixed :slant:.
Having said that, I submitted Waking Dream, kinda similar in flavor to Wandering Mind, but more white-oriented. Thoughts?
I really admire the Brits for not running around like headless chickens, I really do.
From my perspective of watching CNN they seem to treat it just like any other crime...no mass paranoia, no running and screaming through the streets, and certainly no seething anger.
Quoted for truthery!
I'm getting most of my news on today's events via this thread. I only saw a bit of the news briefly before work this morning, and didn't get the opportunity to check on it all day. I know it may not seem like much when compared to the mass media coverage is getting, but I'd like to extend a personal thanks to the people keeping this thread updated and current for people like me.
My heart goes out to all of Britain, especially those who lost friends of loved ones. I hope those families can find peace, these victims are in a place with no threat of terrorism now.
Wait! Wait!
I'm waiting for those too...But Hypnotize doesn't come out for months...
Is Fort Minor's (Shinoda's alias used on his solo) album already out?! Holy crap?! Or have you already downloaded songs for it?
He's not an exceptional rapper, he's mediocre at best, but he has Roc backing, and Shinoda is Shinoda.
To my knowledge, Fort Minor's CD. titled "The Rising Tied" is due for a late summer 2005 release - at least, it is according to Linkinpark.com.
Has anyone else seen War of the Worlds yet? I dislike Tom Cruise, but damn, was this movie fun :D. Tim Robbins and Dakota Fanning steal the spotlight from pretty boy Cruise, to be sure. Special effects are AMAZING, even though the ending is exceptionally cheesy and feels a bit tacked-on.
I used to be LinkinParker on 'News, but I decided to change my username upon switching to 'Salvation, because I got tired of having 8 different usernames on 8 different message boards, and Spaz350 was the nickname I'd had the longest. Originally, I started using Spaz350 as a Halo profile, stemming from my constant usage of the word "Spaz". The "350" came from how much cash I had on me at the time ;).
I'm going for the full-on 1960's Martian Movies vibe by going tomorrow night to see it with my girlfriend at a Drive-In theatre. I'm really excited, especially after all the good reviews i've been reading. I'll post a review ASAP.
Speaking of a red 'geddon, ever wonder why they've made so many sorta-Geddons in red, but never a straightup 'geddon like yours? I mean, after Decree of Annhialation (sp?), Thoughts of Ruin, and Tectonic Break, you;d think that they'd stop beating around the bush. As musch as i'd love to see it, though, i doubt we'll see it for quite some time. Apparently, WotC isn't just worried about Geddon being out of flavor in white, but that it's too overpowered in general. I hate to say it, but i think the closest we'll get to your End of Days is cycling Decree
Tons of cool music news happening for me lately...
Billy Corgin, Pras Michel, and Bizarre's solo albums...
The Smashing Pumpkins coming back together
The Fugees coming back together
The Game releasing an awesome mixtape that disses that idiot 50 Cent...G-G-G-G-G-G YOU NOT!
I'll second the sentiment of insane amounts of music going on in my sector as well...
New Audioslave CD
New System of a Down CD
New Dave Matthews CD
New Nickel Creek CD
New Blues Traveler CD
Mike Shinoda Solo Album
and of course, my recent download of LimeWire has yielded massive amounts of random MP3s :D:D:D
Hmm. Just a thought. Has anyone else seen Miyazaki's new movie? It's based on a book by Diana Wynne Jones, and it's quite good.
I haven't yet, because I'm having a hard time finding it in theatres at the moment. I want to though, as I enjoyed Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away.
Still to read my Hellsing manga, got the first three books hiding from me somewhere. Trouble is, I spend all my free time these days posting on the forums or playing internet Poker. I guess I'll get down to reading it in the summer.
I just finished the Hellsing Manga series, on loan from ISDPM. In fact, after reading them (and DAMN do I wanna see the anime now!) ISDPM and I determined three things:
1) Apparently, there is NO WAY to truly kill Alucard! Bullets, specially designed anti-vampire weaponry, weird magical playing cards, beheading, and t-boning an Aircraft carrier with an SR-71 have all had no real effect on his health, and only served to make him flip out, go totally demonic, and slaughter everyone he lays eyes on. He's undead AND unkillable!
2) Father Alexander Anderson is Teh L337 Scottish Uber-Bayonet Master and deseres his own manga/anime (actually, that's more my opinion than anything else, I like him more than Alucard). I mean c'mon, when you are known as "Hit Man", "Bayonet", and "Killing Judge", you know you're a Badass.
3) The Major is actually that one guy from Excel saga who speaks in subtitles :D:D:D
By the way, some Adult Swim talk...Is everyone as hyped as I am about all the new programming coming?!
Samurai Champloo
Paranoia Agent
Metropolis
Squidbillies
Perfect Hair Forever (Doubt it. :slant: )
And this other show whose name I forget by the creators of ATHF, I think...
Oh, God in Heaven, PLEASE make PHF an actual series! The first one was HYSTERICAL ("I Have Sex With Dogs! What's Up With That!?!" :D:D:D)!!!
It's official. I can't laeve the thread without new posts coming in. At all. This is quite possibly the most awesome tidbit ever.
No Kidding.... I leave for 5 minutes and 36 seconds (yes, I timed it :smile01: ) and there's another page and a half up! Obviously, God does not want me to leave my computer...
I'm pretty sure that was a different Tara Campell...
The original had a space between first and last, the doppelganger has an "_"...
Agreed, plus if you check her post count against the Tara at the Beginning, the original Tara still only has one post, this one has more. Seems like Tara has a fan base!

Happy 4th of July, everyone!

Whatever it turns out to be, I'm in love with the art, so deliciously industrial and gritty! :D:D:D:D
