Sep 9, 2021No evasion but you get 10 power for 6 mana and potentially more if you can flip it.Posted in: Cube New Card Discussion
How often will it reliably get flipped in a green deck though?
May be worth testing but I really like all my 6+ drops at 540. The weakest is probably Woodfall Primus but giving that up for this is tough.
Sep 9, 2021This doesn't fill your yard like FoF but getting a guaranteed 2 cards of your choice (out of 4 vs 5) seems pretty good.Posted in: Cube New Card Discussion
Not splashable like FoF but I think this warrants testing at 540.
It will be this or FoF. Surprised to see a card like this.
Jul 15, 2021Tested this card and it has been solid in my powered 540.Posted in: Cube Card and Archetype Discussion
My favorite turn was playing turn 2 Black Lotus with Teleportation Circle plus Thraben Inspector making two clues in the turn.
The next turn I played Charming Prince and blinked it for many turns of value.
It did other things but that was the best one. It has been a fun archetype to support in my Cube. We will see if it stays long term in a vintage powered environment.
I also added Thassa for redundancy.
Jul 6, 2021Card has been fantastic. We've been pushing an emphasis on heavy black cards in my Cube (not devotion). Tourach and Dauthi Voidwalker are great recent cards that reward heavy black. This card is also nuts off Dark Ritual.Posted in: Cube Card and Archetype Discussion
Last night I went turn 3 Hymn to Tourach into turn 5 kicked Tourach, Dread Cantor. It was as amazing as it sounds. This deck only had 9 black sources so even when the mana isn't great sometimes you can still get to 1BBB.
My opponent and I both remarked how happy we are with how well Tourach has played.
Worth testing this (and Dark Ritual if you're not running it) in 540 for sure and possibly smaller Cubes.
Jul 5, 2021This one is very mildly interesting to me. At 540 it would be this vs a card like Skymarcher Aspirant. How often will this reliably trigger once? More importantly, how often will it trigger more than once?Posted in: Cube Card and Archetype Discussion
It needs to frequently hit once and sometimes hit twice to be worthwhile.
Willing to test but expectations are low.

I appreciate the conversation from everyone and not trying to be super off topic.
I agree with what was said about Sorin/Elspeth feeling more like walkers and Zariel having a subpar ultimate. I think the haste on Zariel will have at least some impact and could really hit hard semi-unexpectedly.
A Walker token maker in red is not something we've had so having even a glimmer of it makes it test worthy at 540 for me.
As for Sorin LOI I am sad as to how much it has fallen. It used to be almost a top 10 Walker and I don't think it is close to that anymore.
I think I am underestimating how much worse it is for Zariel since she won't tick up with each token that's made.
I am still going to test this for a bit and will report back.
Jul 1, 2021The negative feedback to this card is making me question how good Sorin, Lord of Innistrad still is.Posted in: Cube Card and Archetype Discussion
Admittedly the lifelink on the creatures is nice as is the fact that making tokens is a plus ability. Also the Anthem is permanent. Despite those ways that Sorin is better I wonder how good Sorin LOI still is in the eyes of the Cubemunity. I still run it.
Really curious how this card is going to play in my more token heavy Cube with cards like Bombardment, Makeshift Munitions and Purphoros. Also makes UR Opposition decks better.
Will report back once it has seen play.
Jun 30, 2021Just yesterday I was talking to a player in my Cube group about how much I wanted a 3 or 4 drop red walker that made tokens. Then this happens!Posted in: Cube Card and Archetype Discussion
Objectively I know it's not the most powerful but having additional support for midrange red, Aristocrats, tokens & Goblin Bombardment/Makeshift Munitions is more than enough for me to try this card.
I hope it plays well.
Jun 17, 2021Posted in: Cube Card and Archetype DiscussionQuote from steve_man »Quote from Red13th »How did this one play out to those who added it?
Pretty much as expected, it's green's Preordain. The fact that it's making waves in Legacy should be a testament to its power where it's often being played over Preordain as a supplement to Brainstorm / Ponder in UGx decks.
Thanks for this feedback. In our post MH2 drafts this card hasn't really been in the drafting pools so this info will keep it around for a while to ensure it gets properly tested.
