I think I might stick with the Zenith. Command has more utility, but it costs 5. I think searching for and playing any creature essentially for the additional cost of one little mana is absolutely nuts, and I wish I could get my hands on four of those things. Plus with elves you can get out those special little someones quick.
They've stated several times that it will never become a sanctioned format. They're coming out with products for it, and that's enough. Make it a real format and the casual fun goes out the window. Also, I think games would last way to long for it to be sanctioned. Every game would come down to the clock.
When I was new pretty much everything good looked horrible. Dark Confidant? COMPLETE garbage. Pain lands? Crap, what a waist of a rare. Goyf? Very meh. Durkwood Baloth, on the other hand? THA. SHIZZLE.
I'll probably buy one pack from my friend who runs a card store for old times' sake, but I'm not impressed other than that. Sure, there are a couple really good cards, but the other 97% is all so set-specific and pretty much crap unless you buy tons and tons of it. Crap, I hate standard...
I think the conversation is getting a little out of hand. It doesn't matter if Soul Bleed sucks or not, not many people are addressing the question...
But personally if I were a Magic artist I would be ecstatic to have any of my artwork on a Magic card, but I think there must be at least some disappointment when your awesome picture is on a meh-grade card.
I'd definitely go with Shards first to get a good hold on what the set can do. Then Alara Reborn because it's just so dang good. I don't care much for Conflux at all, so I'd just buy singles, but everyone's different. Hero's right though, if you're just starting out you're better off going with M10. The Time Spiral block is also a very good starting point in my opinion.
The answer is here.
I gotta say, I don't know crap about layers next to this guy!
Yeah, not buying a single pack of Zendikar.

.......I don't like it.
