I am hoping there's a legend from each creature type - at least significant ones like demon, dragon, angel, elf to name a few... One can only hope for an alternate art selenia....
i like mortapod - if you play infect and face wall creatures just fling your guys at the player - thats what i did against carnifex demon (bane of infectors)... Vedalken Anatomist is nice but very mana intensive and dies pretty easily though
Wow.. this is why sometimes sealed is just a bummer to play. You are a semi-experienced player going into your 3-5 prerelease and you open up your packs to find ok-ok commons/uncommons and rares that do nothing... you play a really crappy deck against something like this... and you go home and feel sorry for yourself x_X"
Love your sealed, wish the person i mentioned in my story *wink* had better luck.
it is so true... seems newbs get the money and usable rares. this guy who couldnt draft for his life pulls koth/mythics like nothing. then proceeds to play "seize the initiative"(really?) and melting terrain and 3 assault strobes in his decks while i would be lucky to pull a usable rare out of 3
i wouldve put in the 2 digesters in place of the mana myrs. it is a very very good pool indeed. I think you certainly have deck building skills to make a good deck and that shows. An example is I played against someone with (arguably) better pool:
some notables:
skithryx
foil wurmcoil engine
clasp
grasp
2 virulents
2 phy juggernauts
consecrated sphinx
massacre wurm
tezzeret
myr battlesphere
corrupted conscience
12+ other infect creatures.
He lacked deck building skills and made a half infect deck instead of near full infect and left out some cards on the sideboard such as corrupted conscience, battlesphere, juggernauts, corpse cur, clasp and few other infects. I am glad i played him first because i would prob totally lose against an experienced player with that pool
i didnt pull any insane rares to use at all. But mortorpod is MVP for me - i faced a guy with carnifex demon, 2 morbid plunder (both times he got his cur back to fetch another..), indomitable archangel, decimator web and i managed to ping him with mortorpod ftw. Also MVP is argentum armor... i know i gotta make lemon out of lemonade and he singlehandedly finished my opponent against his turbine + battle cry deck...
i would pick Nim or Carapace forger or even tyrranax depending what i am playing. If 1st pack then Probably Nim because not many people here play infect....
I think one thing you can do is have people build their decks in the vicinity so you can see what they are doing. Also make sure to check sleeves - some people might have few cards sleeved already and add in the mix while they are sleeving. Here when we build our decks we do it on the draft table or around it and people see what eachother have
thanks! I guess with so many angels in this set, there will probably be a break of them coming up?
so what happend on mirran? since set is new phyrexia did phyrexia take over?

i think its usability. both uses are very narrow - if you are going proliferate heavy then maybe pick the bird i guess...
