I went Saturday (Sealed) and Sunday (Draft).
I made top 8 in the sealed and won the draft! WooHoo!
Like other posters, i went blue for the fliers and control. Both decks ended up being U/w and i only lost to "mirror" matches that had some better draws.
I must say, my MVP's were Mind Control and Safe Passage. Both kept winning me games. I loved the looks on my opponents faces when I played either of them. There's nothing more satisfying than "borrowing" a Darksteel Colossus
SAFE PASSAGE was especially potent against green (Overrun) and red (aggro charges with bolts).
I'm really hoping you both help them out afterwards instead of simply bludgeoning them until they stop playing. And there's no justification for ripping new players out of cards.
Help them out, keep them playing, and at worst they add more packs to the prize pool.
After all, without new players we are nothing.
Note: I consider my technical rules knowledge to be my greatest asset in games, and I have no compunctions against using it. But this is FNM fercrissake, don't go too hard on them.
Yeah, on it's own it does little, but with her it makes that first ability pretty cool.

THANK YOU!!! Nicely put.
