Folks, I realize that I'm new here, but I just have to say that the recent comments regarding effeminate gay men and "straight-acting" hot ***s are extremely disturbing.

While I can understand one having their own personal preference for what they find attractive, when I hear/read statements like these, it makes me think the person has a real problem with femininity or a woefully narrow view of gender (roles). That, or they have problems with their own masculinity. I mean, seriously, people, why would you want someone--or want to describe yourselves--as "straight acting"?

This implies that being "gay acting"--whatever the hell that is--is a bad thing to be avoided at all costs.

    Rant over.

For the record, people tell me I am masculine. (I chalk it up to my preternaturally deep basso profundo voice.) I've dated masculine MTFs, feminine FTMs, gone down on boy *****s, and gotten ****ed by nelly queens. My point? Don't be restrained by rigid societal notions of gender roles and denigrate those who choose to transgress those norms.

    Rant really over.

    Rant more often plz.

I've pretty much decided to go to Reed at this point...I've been reading about it, and I'm hooked. It is in Oregon, though... *shrug*

As Gaymer's resident... former... Oregonian, I must say, I do enjoy the state. For future reference, here is a list of words you will need to learn:
    Oregon -- (Or-ah-gun)
    Willamette -- (Will-am-it) or (Will-am-ut)
    Tillamook (Till-ah-mook) Cheese = good

And here is a list of things you will need to get used to:
    Rain
    Trees
    Plants
    The color green
    Moderate temperatures
    NO SNOW Frown Frown Frown
    Good clean air
    Good tasting water
A lack of any big city (I'm sorry, Portland just doesn't cut it)

or maybe that's just a list of the things I miss.

ORegon s just weird. I like and hate it. Its beautifal, nice people... but dear gods its all WHITE.

Er--you sure about that. Oregon has quite a good number of hispanics. But that's about it.

Of course some of us do. The Midwest is the best! (Madison, WI, here.)

Well, not the best. But it sure beats the hell out of Texas.

Edit: Oh hey, you're in Chicago too!

I doubt it, due to how buggy the test servers are (Crash almost less then every hour they are up)... if they realease 1.7 today...Im probably going to take a few week break, with my subscription ending thursday and with school starting anyways, i dont want the few hours i will be able to play it for the next month or so being plauged with problems...

Those crashes are due to two things:

1.) The version of the patch on the test server is a 'beta' patch.
2.) There are more than 100 normal servers. And how many test servers? Hmmm? Of course its going to crash and lag more often, there's not enough room for everyone to be on it.

Ugh, today, Chris and my apartment reached the threshold of messiness which forced us to go into a crazy cleaning frenzy. We're mostly done, but I've still got to clean the bathroom and kitchen whilst Chris cooks. Also, every single one of our dishes is dirty... along with all our clothes... and I'm not sure if we have money for laundry. AHHHHH.

Haven't played in months though. Stopped my subscription cause I am poor and sad. And now my Earthfury pieces are collecting dust.

Salem's got Borderlands. Which is quite popular, but their prices on singles usually blow. Plus, if you go to Borderlands, you can annoy all my friends! Not sure about Portland though, I'll ask around.

Back from the hospital + rehab. Now it's time to relax. I'd say more, but it's a little difficult to type on this keyboard and I'm too busy relaxing.

\In still other news, Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction just got patched again (in what has now become a rare event). The changes include new runewords, which at this time are underwhelming, new items (including a unique large charm which is a Sorceress's [yes, "apostrophe 's'" is correct] dream), and a new set of "uber" act bosses which are fun and challenging to fight. For the record, if anybody plays Diablo 2, I would draw the comparison between this new unique charm and an off-color Mox: Hellfire Tourch : Annihilus :: Mox Pearl : Mox Sapphire. God, this patch is fricking pimp. It's like the shizzle and a half. And yet nobody cares. But I don't care that you don't care. Take that.

    Peace out, fellow Gaymers!

Grar... Everytime this game gets patched I get a huge urge to play it.
