I think we all need to rethink the situation. Whether you think his reason makes no sense, or you believe that he is within his right, what it boils down to is everyone wants the site to stay open. It was an amazing free resource that we all appreciated.
So if both sides would kindly digress and if all the players stopped fighting against each other, we could together get wizards to reverse this backwards new policy. Believe it or not, Wizards does listen to its player base. Write a letter, call customer service, or even send an e-mail. They do read all of these things and they do want to hear from you. If you do plan on writing to Wizards, please read on, if not I've said what I wanted to say. When writing to Wizards don't say things like you guys are all dumb and don't know what you're doing, I'm never playing this dumb game again. Comments like that don't help them make decisions. For me personally, the college I attend holds 50+ friday night magic drafts. They give out gateway promos and fnm promos, which is a huge draw to the event. There are no stores that the college could reasonably travel to that could host the events. So if I were to write to Wizards, I would explain that they have completely shut out my college from playing friday night magic and that all 50 players here would appreciate them reversing or editing this decision.
Just be reasonable. Wizards of the Coast is probably one of the most reasonable big businesses that I have ever seen. They do take care of their players, but now they're trying to take care of their stores. Stores are suffering and I personally know of a few who are in debt right now because of the economy, but this policy doesn't help stores out all that much in my opinion, but that is another thing to write about.
So I implore everyone to get their ideas out to WotC. Please, if everyone even just made 1 phone call, I guarantee you this would at least be addressed more in depth by a Wizards representative.
Why does my mws only load up to morningtide. It's really weird, I downloaded the one off of the site, that didnt work. So I had my friend send me his masterbase, still only loads up to morningtide. Did this 3 or four different times
getting the new base form different places, still only loads up to morningtide.
I also replaced the old masterbase with the new one each time. Anyone got an answer?
