I dont like the "...2 damage to up to one target creature" wording...
Why wasn't this 2 damage to target creature...
Because it allows you to choose 0 creatures to deal damage to. It's a may ability that is actually a must. Which supports the more recent decision for competitive play.
Here's a thought: instead of keeping up with the crazy speeds and super powerful spells, WoTC throttles down on that a little so the meta can mellow out a little bit. Change up speeds a bit; change up the game.
They are totally doing that, but the problem is ZEN block is still legal. Innistrad will likely be slowing the meta's up even more.
It's funny how that happens you know.. you'd almost think the list was a persistent problem that hinders the game or something. Considering how often topics get derailed in the manner you say they are. ;-)
On topic though, Teferi was last printed (for the first and only time) in Time Spiral block which was a little more than 2 years ago, which means semi-newer stuff probably isn't off the table. Considering Time Spiral just left extended, it's a possibility that Extended is the cutoff point for printing stuff in FtV.
I'm hoping for some new art edh general staples like Jhoira or other legends from Time Spiral block, cold snap, kamigawa, and p3k. (some of the most legend rich sets)
Consider though for a bit..how the color distribution is likely to work out. Innistrad is highly likely to sport a black legend. (probably other legends as well, but most likely a black one at least), and the much vaunted Xiahou Dun which Tabak has talked about recently on his twitter page. (why would the rules manager be discussing Xiahou Dun on his twitter as something he's 'working on' if there wasn't a specific product reason?). My speculation is that we're looking at likely a lot of mono-colored generals. (since there will be at least 2 mono-blacks) and several iconic characters from magic's lore that aren't necessarily big ticket
There's also the fact that 100% of the cards are available outside of the FTV set and also, that the singles tend to sell for less than a normal foil version of the card (assuming such a thing exists). Unless you want a complete, unopened set for collection purposes, I don't see that people have any reason to get bent out of shape. In many cases, a single card from the set retails for more than the listed MSRP. If nonfoil Mox Diamonds are worth $50, why should WOTC care if you can't get a FOIL one plus 14 other FOIL cards for $30?
No more big regional prereleases makes sense. What Wizards is trying to do is get people who are infrequent players to become more reliable customers. People who only come out for 4 or 5 big events a year now will have 3 choices:
1. Find an LGS to play at, possibly ending up becoming a regular at FNM or other events
2. Start playing MTGO, which as anyone who's played it knows, can be very addictive
3. Quit
Clearly Wizards is banking that few people will choose #3. A pretty smart move IMO, although there will be much wailing and gnashing of teeth as there is with any big MTG-related announcement.
Again they are complete idiots if they think most LGS's can handle the extra traffic on pre-release weekends. They will cause more people to quit that way than retain them. Players who don't go to events often still buy packs often they are lacking any depth at all if that is their thinking process.
I made my deck using her a bit ago, and my game kinda went like this:
T1 Plains - Explorer Scope
T2 Plains - Lightning Greaves
T3 Plains - Kemba w/ Greaves, swing
he makes me sack her due to Chainer's Edict
T5 Kemba with Greaves again
T6 Kemba with Scope, Grafted Exoskeleton and Greaves, swing for 4 poison counters. He scoops
you dont HAVE to equip it to the bears, although I will admit that because of all the equips your are playing you have VERY little room for other creatures that aren't equipment tutors...
I'm thnking of trying to throw some "unkillable" creatures, like Jareth, Pristine Angel, etc. to make the equips useful. Anyone got some suggestions?
Went 3-2-1 for my event. I was running a G/B Infect/Geth deck. Basically I love spellbombs, Infiltration lens, Geth, Lord of the Vault, and the grip of darkness. The only removal I had was basically that, and 2 instill infection. The low removal made evasion really powerful as mentioned before. Trigons are really nice however, and I would run the black one for sure, even without the ability to recharge.
However, I did not really like the low removal options, poison annoys me, the power of evasion in general is amazing. Neurok invismancer does silly things in multiples and they are effective clocks. Scrapdiver servant, the 5/5 version also good (You need to control an artifact, like that's not going to happen).
actually your opponent needs to control an artifact but yeah same difference. I had an opponent start using the artifact destroying dragon against himself to stop my two scrap divers.
I had a lot of fun at my sealed events. I did two. Went 1-2 drop in the first and then 3-2-1 for 3rd overall(small player count) in my second with a venser poison proliferate deck. This is a really tricky set and might as well have the old "EXPERT" stamp on the back of the packs. The versatility of a lot of cards makes judging cards harder but more rewarding when you find combos that work well.
the two 6 packs of cards in mine were warped normally for foils the 3 in the center including the mox diasmond were very warped. I placed all of them in sleeves and in a really old big thick dictionary then put a 20 lb. weight on top. I'll wait a few days to throw the cards into some decks. Only paid 35 for mine.
Is there any chance of them putting staples like Jace 2.0, Vengevine, or even Fauna Shaman in these decks, even as 1-ofs? Maybe I'm being optimistic, but could this be their way of trying to quell the mythic problem, or more precisely, the "lack of Jace 2.0" problem?
Putting 1 of a staple rare into these decks might encourage people to buy packs to acquire more of them.
It will also make LGS's jack up the prices of these decks(see the rat's nest deck with Urmezawa's Jitte and that one Green theme deck with Eternal Witness.
Anywho I like this and if they can make quality theme decks like Sidestep from the lowyrn block then I'll pick up some.
The store has never displayed any card worth less than 2 bucks and kept everything off in boxes. they've had a computer inventory system since I remember. Meanwhile If I'm playing an event there or just casual playing/deck building I now get to use my phone to shop for cards and randomly ask if they have them. Quite a few times I've stopped by and browsed certain featured cards and bought some to start a deck. It's also funny because along with browsing comics I'd throw in another 4 bucks for a key rare for EDH. or something.

rofellos is on the reserved list.
You're forgetting the innstrad preview card.

That's what I was thinking. Still leaves Kennan exposed. Oh well I built this deck too and ill see if tgreaves are nesecary.
how did you equip after equipping greaves?
