I was a disbeliever at first too, but I looked it up in the rules and it works.

    To be exact...

    from the Comprehensive Rules

420.5n If a permanent has both a +1/+1 counter and a -1/-1 counter on it, N +1/+1 and N -1/-1 counters are removed from it, where N is the smaller of the number of +1/+1 and -1/-1 counters on it.

Has anyone else confirmed this page in meatland?

The only confirmation you need is in evan's post history. He's broken cards from Inquest and Scrye in previous sets, so why start faking now?

    They are real!

Here's a long (or maybe not) shot...

    Green hair, check.
    Green skin, check.
Colored sparkles coming from her hands, check.
Very much a 'green part of the color wheel' card, check.
Not too complicated for a starter set, check.
Druid (as opposed to Dryad), check.

    I'd put money on it.

    Igneous Elemental - 6
    Artifact Creature- Elemental
    Haste
T: ~ becomes a Mountain until end of turn.
Sacrfice a Mountain: ~ deals 2 damage to target creature or player.

D'oh, someone got to it while I was making my post.

    Birds of Utopia green mana
    Creature - Bird
    Flying, Haste
: Add one mana of any color to your manapool.
Whenever ~ becomes tapped, it doesn't untap during you next untap step.
    1/1

    and here is mine...

    Eternal Spirit - WU
    Creature - Spirit
Whenever ~ would be discarded, return ~ from your graveyard to play at end of turn.
When ~ is put into your graveyard from your library, you may put it into play.
If ~ is removed from play, return it to play at the end of turn.

Jhoira + Aeon Chronicler (or Detritivore) = Really evil fun!!!

Even if she is even worded as is (no "in play" clause) she can still Suspend these guys for 2 mana and give you 4 extra cards or destroy 4 nonbasic lands over the next 4 turns (as well as drop a decent creature when your done). They are also both in the proper colors with her.

I can see her making a splash somewhere in standard and block, even more if her ability does effect cards in play as well.

Some UG madness decks did run it.

Not many I remember (or at least none during the decks prime), R/G Madness maybe.

    Quote from Insanity

Every other green deck DEFINITELY ran it. If using the card is the rule and not the exception, then it is a staple.

OK, so we are not including the green Wake ran? Or is that another exception? Smile

    Quote from Insanity

Your argument is irrelevant because you're assuming you'll always win at 1 life.

Huh? No, my argument was that life gain doesn't matter if you win at 1 life or 30 life. It was my argument becuase you tried to state that the life gain of Fetters was better than the self damage from Psi-Blast (in the end it's not, as the "better" one is the one that helps you win, not just live a little longer). Fetter's is good and has it's use, but I'd rather have the options that Psi-Blast gives me in (or with) blue.

    Quote from Insanity

Plus, we've already established that control will virtually never aim it at the opponent's head.

But you *CAN*, and that (if even very little used) is a big difference.

I've established this is not a staple card. That means it will not retain a price this high. Until you can show that EVERY blue deck will run 4 copies, it is not a staple card.
Insanity, exactly why does this matter? Show me the decklist of every standard deck that has Wrath of God in it. Is it in a lot of them? Sure it is, but it’s not in EVERY white based deck. How about Birds of Paradise, am I to take it every green deck you have seen automatically is running four of these?

Or by your rules are these cards not Magic staples (hint: if in you mind they are not, stop playing and do a little more reading)?!? Should they not be worth the $12-14 bucks they can usually fetch? Let me know where this logic starts to break down from your 1st year economics class you must have just taken. No card has to be played in EVERY deck for it to be a staple (just in a good number of them – like Psi-Blast will most likely be).

Even better how about one of your examples, CotH. Quite the staple card indeed, funny on how it wasn't even in the best blue/green decks at the time... it's simply Madness.

Here’s a little advice, everything your economics professor taught you isn’t necessary all right for every situation. Magic cards (and their pricing) have a flow to themselves that can’t exactly be tracked against the stock exchange or standard models.

Sure I’ll hand you the fact that Psi-Blast won’t be in EVERY deck, but it will be in enough to drive up demand for it. Not to mention that it is hard to get due to it’s limited printings before Time Spiral and it's limited rarity in it. As someone said…

”Adding a playable card to type two makes the demand skyrocket. It is THE MOST PLAYED FORMAT by far. These cards are inserted 1/pack. That means your demand shoots up, and the supply increases a little bit. A greater increase in demand than supply causes: *drumroll* higher prices.”

Now Psi-Blast won’t stay at the high levels it’s currently selling at $20+ dollars (once again I agree with you here), but it won’t drop below similar levels of other power cards like the aforementioned *** and BoP (I’m betting the original $15 range at the beginning of this post is fairly accurate).

One last thing, if you going to argue Magic logic, stick away from this one…

You mean like Faith's Fetters? I hear gaining life is better than losing it, too. Not to mention the ability to shut down any creature regardless of toughness, and a slew of other permanents as well.
Riddle me this… you win a game with 30 life, I win a game with 1 life. Who did better? The simple fact is that the life total doesn’t matter to the winner. Besides, you also can’t send Fetters to someone’s head unless you have a really good flick of the wrist (and you don’t mind the eventual DQ).

Long term players / dealers / casual players have all spoken here what they think the cost will be in time. What makes you so superior to think they are all wrong? Please enlighten us on where your knowledge comes from (you know something like 10+ years of playing / buying cards, years of strategy reading and a collection of almost 20,000 cards – whoops sorry, that’s mine Smile ).

But I degress, surely you'll be able to pick apart this post (same as the others) to support whatever reply that keeps you saying the same thing.

Sweet Zombie Jesus, is that a Negator Totem?

Looks to be, it has the add B to your mana pool and 2B cost for it's ability. Also looks like a 5/5 for power and toughness. The 2nd paragraph also looks like Negator's whenever clause.

I think Mogilny and Selane are tied for most goals in a season 76.

    Only if you don't count...

    Wayne Gretzky - 92 (1982)
    Wayne Gretzky - 87 (1984)
    Brett Hull - 86 (1991)
    Mario Lemieux - 85 (1989)
    Phil Esposito - 76 (1971)

Didnt we have a sign that Magic is going to return to Dominaria after Guildpact some time ago.

    Yup. See here...

    http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=books/magic/mtgopencall2004

"The author of the selected proposal will write books for the 2006/2007 Magic: The Gathering card block concurrent to its development."

Which puts it right after this (Ravnica) block.

The proposals that we are accepting should take place after the Invasion cycle, by J. Robert King. The proposal should focus on post-apocalyptic Dominaria and, in particular, the phased-out lands of Shiv and Jamuraa, taking advantage of the rich story elements, characters, and plot available from the Invasion cycle.
